"I’ll go wash the wild fruits; you stay in bed and wait." Jas Black stood up, gathered all the wild fruits from the ground level, and headed to the bathroom.
Jane Sampson followed him in, leaning against the doorway and watching Jas busy at work. Then, with a hint of regret, she said to Jas, "Coco and I picked so wild fruits in the mountain village today, but we didn’t bring them back. I’m not sure if they’ll go bad tomorrow, which is quite a pity."
"There are no wild animals there; you had the tent, and the temperature in the mountain village is quite cool. There won’t be any problems," Jas reassured her as he handed her a washed wild fruit.
He suddenly saw Jane Sampson in costus, carrying a plastic bag in the mountain village today, which made him want to laugh. No matter where she went, she found a way to entertain herself, and now with Coco Edwards joining her, she enjoyed it even more.
If it weren’t for the unfavorable circumstances yesterday, Jas really wanted to take Jane to pick the sweetest and largest wild fruits in the mountain village, just to see her squinting and smiling in satisfaction.
Jane Sampson sat on the bed, eating the wild fruits bit by bit, sharing half of them with Coco Edwards. She sent a text ssage to Coco, asking if she had gone to bed yet.
Jas was taking a bath inside; he who usually finished in a few minutes, ended up staying inside for ten minutes without coming out.
After receiving the text ssage, Coco Edwards knocked on the door and ca in. Hearing the noise from the bathroom, she casually asked, "Has your man arrived?"
"Yes, he just arrived," Jane Sampson nodded and then passed the wild fruits on the table to Coco, "I saved these for you; he just washed them."
Coco laughed, "Your man picked these for you? That’s really sothing."
She had never seen anyone so pampered; late at night and still delivered wild fruits, even washed and placed on the table.
Was this because he saw Jane Sampson picking wild fruits in the mountain village today but didn’t get to eat any, so he specifically picked them to satisfy her craving?
At this mont, Jas finally opened the bathroom door and ca out. Hearing the voices, he had dressed in his pajamas instead of just walking out in his bathrobe.
"Mr. Black," Coco Edwards quickly greeted Jas when she saw him.
"Hmm," Jas was quite patient with Coco Edwards, after all, she had been taking care of Jane Sampson and their relationship was very good.
"Oh right," Jane Sampson suddenly rembered another thing.
"Coco didn’t believe earlier when I said that I killed the murderer with one shot today!" Jane Sampson looked at Jas, "You were there at that ti, tell Coco, wasn’t my marksmanship super accurate today? I fired one shot and hit the murderer right in the head, so I really am the kind of person whose potential explodes at critical monts."
"..." A flash of surprise crossed Jas’s eyes, followed by an almost imperceptible twitch of his mouth.
"Keep bragging then. Seeing as you shared your wild fruits with , I won’t bluntly expose you," Coco Edwards, sitting on a chair, laughed out loud, "See, your man didn’t even respond to you."
Jane Sampson glared at Jas and tugged at his hand, prompting him to speak, "Say sothing."
Jas tapped on Jane Sampson’s forehead with his hand, "Do you want to hear the truth or a lie?"
"Obviously the truth!" replied Jane Sampson, assuming it was obvious.
"The truth?" Jas saw that Jane Sampson was adamant about hearing the truth, he gently began, "Your bullet hit a tree trunk behind Henry Bright."
