Two hours passed in a blur as Asher’s consciousness was swallowed by the dream realm, the next mont, a knock echoed through the room, Asher’s eyes fluttered open, his purple eyes eting the roof, and with a soft sigh, he rose as he walked towards the door, his movents slow yet composed.
Opening it, he saw Finch and William already standing, leaning against either side of the wall as they waited for him to open the door.
They didn’t even speak to him, they simply walked past him as they made their way to his living room, Asher simply shook his head as his living room now seed to be their gathering point for the past seven months. He closed the door and walked to the living room, upon arriving, he sat as he spoke.
"So, how was class?" His tone calm and low.
Finch was the first to speak, "I’m glad we had only Instructor lissa’s class today, I’m not sure I would have been able to concentrate in any other Instructor’s class with the amount of points the Training Facilities Building scamd of," he clicked his tongue as he spoke, clearly dissatisfied.
Finch and William were amongst those that had been kicked out of the Training Facilities Building earlier today, and Finch, ever the rchant, was already in anger about his loss, while William seed relatively more relaxed about the situation.
"Honestly, I don’t know how far Astra energy control and manipulation can go, each ti it seems like there is nothing else Astra can do, Instructor lissa pulls out a new card, at this point I’m guessing Astra energy application is basically infinite and limitless," William sighed as he spoke with a shake of his head, clearly impressed yet slightly overwheld.
This was the reason Asher hadn’t bothered to attend class, if it was Instructor Jude’s class, who taught hand-to-hand combat, he might have attended, or even Instructor Jane, who taught weapons, but with his perfect Astra energy control ability, Asher didn’t bother.
"You are basically the only one who didn’t attend class today, everyone else was in attendance since no one is on a mission or in closed-door training," Finch added as a plate of cookies appeared in his hand.
"Well, it’s not like anything new or special happened in my absence," Asher shrugged as he spoke, unconcerned.
William paused for a mont then spoke, "Well, sothing special indeed happened."
Asher arched an eyebrow as he asked, "What is it?" his tone curious.
"Instructor lissa announced that there would be no classes throughout tomorrow as they had all been cancelled under the orders of the Principal, which I’m guessing is because of the announcent happening the day after tomorrow," William stated with a flat tone.
Asher nodded his head, not entirely surprised, but he could already tell that the Star Academy wanted everyone to be present during the announcent and not miss it for whatever reason they might have.
"So, how was your training? Were any of you in a delicate phase before you were kicked out?" Asher asked.
"Nope, not really, I was just training my family’s sword technique," William replied, as his family indeed had a sword technique which he had been using for quite a few years.
"I was just cultivating, I’m glad I wasn’t about to break through or anything, who knows, I might have accidentally injured my Astra veins when I was ejected from the building if I was on the verge of a breakthrough," Finch spoke as he bit his biscuit.
’Speaking of breakthrough, Thalric said he was about to break through, I wonder what Life Rank he is at at the mont,’ Asher thought to himself as he suddenly rembered his brother.
"Well, I’m sure the people who watch over the Training Facilities checked the state of every student before they teleported them out, besides, even if you were injured, I refuse to believe that at least soone capable of healing torn Astra veins doesn’t exist within the Star Academy," Asher replied, his tone practical and reasonable.
As Asher had said, it is indeed possible for people’s Astra veins to be torn apart or broken, but it wasn’t easily fixable. The Astra veins are said to be an organ bestowed upon humanity by the stars, since they weren’t originally part of human physiology until the dawn of the new era twenty thousand years ago.
Only a few healers possessed the ability to heal and restore an Astra vein, amongst a hundred healers who stand at the peak of the Crownstar Life Rank, even one who is capable of restoring broken Astra veins might not exist. But nonetheless, soone, one or two, capable of restoring a damaged Astra vein existed, but the question was if the person who needed the restoration possessed the connections to even get in contact with such a healer, and whether they even had the funds or resources to pay such a healer.
But there are abilities that can eliminate the need for a healer, like the forr Emperor, Cyrvexis Lux Vanthelmor, with his ability to manipulate ti, he could restore an Astra vein, or like Asher, who had Star Energy and could just bypass the need for Astra energy to keep fighting, but would forever be stuck at his current Life Rank since he couldn’t cultivate anymore.
"So, what Life Rank are you both at at the mont?" Asher asked casually.
Finch replied with a smirk, proud of his progress, "I’m at the Pulse Brightstar Life Rank," his tone almost sounding boastful.
In seven months, he remained within the sa Major Life Rank, but he had progressed from the Spark sub-Life Rank to the Pulse stage, which was a three-stage jump.
While it may seem too slow compared to Asher, do rember Asher is a monster, besides, Finch was at the Flare Kindlestar Life Rank before he t Lior, then he broke through during their soul bonding, which led him to step into the Spark Brightstar Life Rank.
Finch had awakened at the age of fifteen, and he was eighteen now, aning he spent three years moving from the Dust Faintstar to the Flare Kindlestar... well, which was also partly due to his laziness and past mindset.
Asher simply nodded and said nothing to Finch in reply, he simply turned to William and asked, "What of you?"
"Flare Blazestar Life Rank," he replied with a shrug, crossing sub-sub ranks was hard, not everyone could frog leap and be as heaven-defying as Asher.
"You both already made remarkable progress," Asher replied with a calm smile as he was indeed pleased with their growth.
"What about you? What rank are you?" Finch asked, curious, as they had never gotten to know Asher’s Life Rank before.
Asher stayed silent for a mont then spoke, "Even if I told you, you would doubt ," he shook his head.
"Just speak, as long as you aren’t at the Crownstar Life Rank already, we can handle it," William joked.
"Radiant Swiftstar Life Rank," Asher replied indifferently as he had no need to lie.
At his words, both Finch and William were rendered completely speechless. They didn’t ask Asher if he was ssing around with them, they knew he didn’t joke in matters like these. William and Finch stared at each other, then imdiately rose to their feet and walked towards the door as they moved to leave this monster in human skin alone, as though distancing themselves would sohow restore their sense of normalcy.
"Where are you guys going?" Asher asked, his gaze turning to them.
"To cultivate," Finch replied as he opened the door, then teleported away the mont he stepped into the hallway.
"See you during the announcent," William replied as he closed the door behind him.
