Millions of kilotres away from the Thalvorn Empire, back at John’s ho, the man was at the edge of his seat, but now, he stood with a wide grin, laughing at the top of his lungs. He had just made a whopping hundred gold coins just from risking ten gold coins on the Tenth Sun.
As he was about to jump, his body imdiately paused as a tremor tore through his building, shaking everything within it. Before he could begin to guess what it was, chants filled his ears.
"ASHER!!!"
"ASHER!!!"
"WARGRAVE!!!"
"TENTH SUN!!!"
"MADNESS!!!"
"WWWOOOAHH!!!!"
The entire Zarethorn Empire imdiately lit up in literal fire as people stomped the ground, shook everything and anything in sight, and with a population in the billions, the earthquake that followed was imnse. Buildings shook, windows cracked, people roared, won scread, hell, even n scread.
They all seed to have forgotten that they were the ones who had thought less of him earlier. They all seed to forget that a vast majority had staked a bet against him and lost their money. But how could they rember such asly coins? To them, this was what a battle should be like: fight it out, fist against fist, body against body. Such was the ultimate form of battle.
At this mont, adrenaline spiked through their minds, bodies, and hearts as the entire Zarethorn Empire united as one before the whole world. Taverns erupted into chaos, rchants abandoned their stalls to join the madness, and even those who had never cared about the competition found themselves screaming until their throats burned.
The atmosphere was infectious, spreading through cities, villages, and settlents alike as countless people found themselves swept away by the madness.
An exact replica of the scene played out throughout the world. It didn’t matter what Empire it was. Zarethorn? Thalvorn? Vandross? Velkarin? They all scread Asher’s na. After all, why shouldn’t they? It wasn’t like the reward from the event would reach them. No, they were only here for the entertainnt of their lives and to make money, nothing else.
And with a single battle, Asher had gone from a boy who was only known to a select few to a man whom the whole world had set its eyes on. His na was now being spoken in palaces, military headquarters, noble estates, and slums. Countless people who had never heard of him before today would rember him long after this competition ended, and many were already beginning to wonder whether they were witnessing the rise of a future legend.
Back at the Thalvorn Empire, specifically at the Coliseum, the audience seed to have found its voice as they roared at the top of their lungs.
"MORE!!!"
"MORE!!!"
"PEAK!!!"
"PEAK!!!"
"DARK HORSE!!!"
"UNDERDOG!!!"
Over two million voices overlapped at this mont as the whole Coliseum shook to its core. Even the Nobles and Emperors who sat within their Luxury Viewing Boxes felt their viewing chambers vibrate.
Overlord Cynthia could only thank the stars that she had used so special materials to build this stadium. If she hadn’t, then surely it would have collapsed instantly under the madness that was erupting. The very air seed to tremble under the pressure of the crowd’s excitent, and wave after wave of sound rolled through the colossal structure like an unstoppable tide.
Amongst the two million voices, the won went overboard with their own comnts.
"GIVE YOUR BABIES!!!" one scread as though Asher could hear her from the distance.
"I’M ALL YOURS TONIGHT, DESTROY !!!" another scread.
The whole thing seed to escalate as a man standing near the group of ladies imdiately spoke next.
"I’M A BOTTOM, I’M ALSO HERE FOR YOU!!!" his voice echoed.
At his words, a few won paused instantly, their eyes snapping towards him. Then, without wasting a single mont, they jumped him. Kicks, blows, and punches followed as they spoke; "How dare you look at him with such eyes?"
Other n who were near the guy simply took a step back for their own safety. They didn’t want to be beaten up by these suddenly fanatic won.
After beating him, they snorted and imdiately returned to their chanting and screaming as though they had done nothing wrong. The unfortunate man could only lie there and question the decisions that had led him to speak in the first place, while those around him pretended not to notice his existence.
Floating in the air, Thomasinho and AlyxAtlas finally spoke, their voices booming through the speakers as the air shook.
"HE HAS DONE IT!!!" AlyxAtlas scread.
"HE HAS MADE THE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE!!!" Thomasinho followed.
"WITH ALL ODDS AGAINST HIM. WITH THE WORLD AGAINST HIM. WITH THE PLANET AGAINST HIM, HE HAS REMINDED THE WORLD WHY THE WARGRAVES ARE ABSOLUTE!!!" Both Thomasinho and AlyxAtlas shouted at the sa ti as though they had rehearsed the line, their words and flow in perfect sync.
"But alas, all good things must co to an end," Thomasinho stated, his and billions of others’ eyes snapping towards the Ranking.
They could see the insane amount of points Asher held. The difference between him and second place was no different from the difference between an Emperor and the poorest Commoner.
"How many points shall he lose after he unlocks all his affinities, Astra Energy, and abilities?" AlyxAtlas stated, her voice echoing through the air.
"How many ranks shall he lose? Would he lose his number one spot? If he does, how long would it take him to climb back? Would he find another Grave-class Monster?" Thomasinho shouted as his black eyes remained on the point ranking.
"And the most mysterious question at the mont, and of this whole competition," AlyxAtlas picked up where Thomasinho stopped flawlessly, "how far can his power go after he unlocks it all? What are his affinities? How many does he have? Can he match a Rank 7? Rank 8? End Rank? How far can the forsaken one known as Asher Wargrave go?"
AlyxAtlas’s words made people’s minds burn with undying curiosity as they all wanted to know. No, they needed to know. It was their oxygen now. The discussion instantly spread amongst the audience as countless theories erged. So believed Asher possessed multiple affinities, while others argued that such a thing was impossible. So claid he would dominate Rank 7 combatants, while others insisted there was no chance. Yet despite their disagreents, they all shared one thing in common: they wanted answers.
But as they wondered how many points Asher would lose and to what rank he would plumt, various lights flashed within the open space before them. Through these lights, various students began to appear one after another; they had barely survived the battlefield for over an hour before they were eliminated.
Of course, not everyone landed in a favourable location, just like how Teo Swig had landed in a cave occupied by two Rank 4 Emovirae, a Negative Zone at that. They had no choice but to destroy their bracelets and flee for their lives.
Besides, so of them landed in good areas but, as Asher had already guessed and said earlier, the bracelets were extrely fragile. So had forgotten about this, their bracelets accidentally breaking during combat, resulting in their elimination as well. The battlefield was rciless, and luck was just as important as skill when survival was concerned.
As this group of students, who were eliminated by their own mistakes, were about to erupt into complaints, over a million voices ca crashing down into their bodies and minds as the air grew stiff.
"BOOOOO!!!"
"TRASH!!!"
"WASTE OF SPACE!!!"
"YOU DON’T DESERVE TO BE HERE!!!"
Many of them imdiately opened their bags, pouches, and space rings and took out various items: rotten eggs, tomatoes, and small stones.
And without a shred of hesitation, they threw them at the tens of students who had just appeared. So of the students didn’t block and allowed the objects to hit them as their morale plumted in real ti, while others simply dodged or blocked with their Astra Energy.
The majority of the spectators forgot that they weren’t as talented as these children who had just been eliminated, forgetting that so amongst them were Nobles. But alas, they were all protected by the Overlord; after all, they wouldn’t exactly dare do this without her backing. The sa crowd that praised excellence with unmatched passion was equally ruthless towards failure, caring little about the circumstances behind a person’s defeat.
Officials ca and led away the students, who now looked dejected as though they had lost everything the world had given them.
If they allowed this singular mont to shatter their ntality, so of them might never advance in Life Rank again, as they would remain shackled by this mont forever. Many powerful individuals throughout history had not been defeated by enemies stronger than themselves, but by the scars left behind in their own minds. Whether these students would rise above this humiliation or beco prisoners of it was sothing only ti could reveal.
