Advanced Nurturing High School, Palette Café.

Fuyuji Mikage propped up his cheek and stirred his coffee absentmindedly. "I said there's no need, is there? I recall your class doesn't have any points left. Is inviting here to pass the ti really a good idea?"

"I don't have a habit of spending recklessly, and I dislike being in debt to othe—"

Beside him, Horikita's voice ca to an abrupt halt. She turned her head, a pair of fox-like eyes glaring fiercely at Fuyuji.

"My brother... he actually gave you points?!"

"What else? I was bored out of my mind and just decided to take you to get your wounds bandaged?"

"How much exactly did he give you?"

"200,000."

Fuyuji was completely immune to Horikita's murderous gaze and waved a hand to order another slice of strawberry cake.

"Return it to him imdiately! As for the points, I'll find a way to gather them and pay you back."

"Haven't you already seen? I proposed returning it to him. It's just that he wouldn't accept it."

"In any case, figure out a way to give it back to him. I'll pay you back the money later."

"You seem to be a bit unreasonable, you know. Although I could transfer it back to him, knowing Horikita-senpai's personality, he'd probably just transfer it right back again, wouldn't he? Also, are you done chatting with him yet?"

"..."

Fuyuji Mikage's spoon, which had been stirring the coffee, stopped. He turned his head and shot a glance at his phone. His expression gradually beca quite colorful.

"Don't tell you haven't said a single word to him yet?"

"..."

Fuyuji covered his forehead wordlessly.

Just how twisted are these siblings? How on earth did Horikita Manabu raise her to be like this?

"Is it really so hard to send a simple 'Onii-chan~, Watashi Suzune~, Arigatou~'?"

Fuyuji pinched his throat and passionately imitated the tone of a cute, moe ani girl, and imdiately received an icy glare from Horikita.

"Which do you prefer: regretting while suffering, or despairing while regretting?" Horikita enunciated every single word.

"Regrettably, I'm more the type who likes to advance while laughing uproariously at the pained expressions of others." Fuyuji ate the strawberry off the top of the cake in one bite. "So, have you thought about what you want to send?"

Only the sound of Fuyuji stirring his coffee remained in the seat.

After a while, Horikita lowered her head and said, "I truly haven't thought of anything."

"Then why did you send him so many ssages before? Or is it that you only sent them because you knew he wouldn't actually respond? You yourself haven't even figured out what kind of attitude you want to face him with?"

The three questions he tossed out in succession seed to jab right at Horikita Suzune's sore spot.

She retaliated with a cold face, "Mind your own business. This is my own affair. No need for you to worry about it!"

"I truly don't want to get involved in the strange relationship between you two," he extended his palm toward Horikita "but could you hurry up and give back my phone?"

Staring at the palm extended toward her, Horikita's face cycled through shades of blue and purple. Finally, she gritted her teeth.

"Here! Take it back!"

Slapping the phone into Fuyuji's palm with a smack, Horikita tossed her long hair, stood up, and walked straight out of the café.

Facing her admired older brother, who hadn't spoken to her for so long, Horikita Suzune didn't say a single word. She turned tail and ran, clean and decisive.

"Rember to pay the bill," Fuyuji reminded her.

"I will naturally do what I've agreed to." The cold, clear voice drifted from ahead.

Having cast off her own cowardice, Horikita Suzune had returned to that state of lashing out against the heavens, the earth, and the very air itself.

As expected, once she abandoned her cowardly self, Horikita was invincible.

"Moshi moshi~ Is this Horikita-senpai?"

One second ago, Horikita had been stylishly executing a strategic retreat. The very next second, she made a sharp U-turn and clicked her way back to the seat in her little leather shoes.

"The matter has been taken care of. Any injuries? Wasn't that your doing? You're asking ?"

Watching Fuyuji, who hadn't noticed at all that she had returned, Horikita's body involuntarily leaned in closer, wanting to hear clearly what her brother was saying.

"No major problems. After all, I did take 500,000 from you."

500,000? Not 200,000? This damn profiteer!

Horikita clenched her fist. Intense, murderous intent exploded from her eyes.

"Your little sister?"

Horikita's ears pricked up sharply.

"Left. Just earlier, she even wanted to send you a ssage. But after I said a couple of things to her, she very gracefully fled." Fuyuji rcilessly issued his ridicule.

Horikita ground her teeth audibly. From birth until now, she had never, ever wanted to kill a single person so badly.

Not based on so societal public consensus or morality, but purely, simply wanting to kill him!

"You would have said a couple of things to her? Then there's no helping it. She should have already left—"

Horikita instantly seized Fuyuji's wrist and forcibly wrenched his line of sight in front of her own face. Eyes cold as the unyielding ice of the far north stabbed straight into him.

Facing Horikita, who had suddenly returned, Fuyuji blinked.

Why are you still here?

Give it to !

No. You only get one chance.

Withdrawing his gaze, Fuyuji continued focusing on the call. "Nagumo-senpai's side? Nothing much lately, it seems?"

The clock on the café wall ticked and jumped, second by second. Watching Fuyuji Mikage chatting and laughing freely with her brother, Horikita's heart grew increasingly frantic. The chance to speak properly with her brother... in three whole years, this was the only ti...

"Mm, okay. I understand. That's it then, talk to you—"

In that split instant, Horikita forcibly wrenched Fuyuji's wrist to her own ear and shouted into the phone, "No! Brother, I'm still—"

Horikita, whose emotions had just erupted, suddenly froze.

What ca through the phone was neither Manabu's voice, nor the busy tone of a disconnected call.

She took a deep breath. With a blackened face, she pried open Fuyuji's palm bit by bit, lit up the screen, revealing the phone screen in its standby state.

There had never been any call with her brother at all! This man! Had been toying with her from start to finish!!

A dark, black aura erupted from Horikita's body, rampaging throughout the entire café. Wherever it passed, even the flowers nearby seed to wilt and wither.

Horikita gripped Fuyuji's wrist, drawing closer and closer to him.

She was going to make him regret every single thing he had done, in agony and despair!

"Hey, is there sothing else?"

Horikita Manabu's calm voice ca from the phone's speaker.

The furious Horikita maintained that state for a re 0.1 seconds before, in a fluster, releasing Fuyuji's wrist.

Fuyuji Mikage, having dialed the call, winked at Horikita and, holding back laughter, switched the phone to speaker. "Your little sister seems to want to have a chat with you. So, how about it? Want to defend yourself over what happened earlier?"

Amidst Horikita Suzune's anxious unease, the person on the other end of the line seed to ponder for a long ti. "Please... hand the phone to her..."

Smiling, Fuyuji passed the phone back to Horikita and opened his mouth:

"Yes? Or no?"

Her expression incomparably complex, Horikita accepted Fuyuji Mikage's phone. An emotion she didn't even know how to describe welled up in her heart.

Before Horikita could open her mouth to say anything, Fuyuji had already picked up his fork and continued tackling the remaining strawberry cake.

Horikita sat back down in her original seat. After a long, long ti of brewing what to say,

"Brother... it's ..."
