The Demonic ssengers ford a circle, howling like great apes. In the center of the clearing, Pharmacist’s Wish stood confronting three Demonic ssengers. They were all Second-Turn ssengers, known throughout Liang Kingdom as the notorious ’Black Whirlwind Brothers.’ Even at Shu Dao Mountain, they were recognized as formidable practitioners of the Demon Dao.
"Hei Da, didn’t you say you’ve killed a Third-Turn? Prove it to us!"
"Great Guardian, Wolf Master Demon Guardian, Great Guardian, Wolf Master Demon Guardian!"
"Hei Da, Hei Er, Hei San, haven’t the three of you gotten weak in the knees?"
"Kill them, kill them!"
Pharmacist’s Wish, clad in armor, her face masked, hood hiding her traces, swung the Soul-Breaking Spear with ease. The Black Whirlwind Brothers began to encircle her, with only Hei Da standing directly in front while Hei Er and Hei San hid in her blind spots. That’s how the three brothers operated—confront one, and all three attack; face a crowd... it’s ti to bolt.
Already engaged in banditry, how could practitioners of the Demon Dao possibly care about elegance? They hadn’t planned to truly defeat the Fourth Great Guardian Wolf Master Demon Guardian, but if they could manage a stalemate or seize the upper hand for a mont, it would be enough to make them fad throughout Shu Dao Mountain, viewed differently by all above and below the mountain.
If they could actually defeat Wolf Master Demon Guardian, it would be remarkable. Everyone knew Wolf Master Demon Guardian and Rabbit Heroine had killed Blood Phase’s brother, earning rewards from Blood Phase beyond imagination.
Suddenly, Hei San threw a dart from the shadows. At the mont Pharmacist’s Wish was distracted and dodging, Hei Da charged as a black whirlwind, and Hei Er swung a soft whip towards the rear of Pharmacist’s Wish, perfectly tid from both front and back.
They coordinated flawlessly, making many ssengers in initial encounters either compromise one for the other or suffer severe injuries!
But absolutely not including Pharmacist’s Wish!
She blocked Hei Er’s soft whip with the spear tail, pointed the spearhead at Hei Da’s slashing sword, and then spun the spear like a lantern, slicing a sharp arc towards Hei San who tried to approach!
The failed ambush turned into a siege, and the Black Whirlwind Brothers lived up to their reputation, battering like a swift whirlwind. Hei Da was fast, Hei Er was flexible, Hei San was cunning, their continuous and rapid attacks left no room for error—any slip-up could lead to being ambushed by their Demonic Path Tokens.
The watching Demonic ssengers gradually quieted down, contemplating if they could break the Black Whirlwind siege themselves. Difficult, as attempting forceful breakthroughs would certainly endure attacks from the Demonic Path Tokens, and once injured by them, consequences beca unpredictable. After all, the Black Whirlwind Brothers weren’t fools; they would surely target critical spots.
How about if it were the Three Great Guardians?
If Beiyou were trapped, he could leap away; Prajna could kill one of the brothers with a Rainstorm; for Blood Phase... a siege ant nothing—he could escape in a breath.
But the new Great Guardian Wolf Master Demon Guardian offered a different answer:
Attack against attack!
Though holding the Soul-Breaking Spear clad in Vajra Armor, the whirlwind-bound Pharmacist’s Wish danced lightly like a butterfly amid the stormy assault. Each spear strike tapped on the opponent’s weapon like a dragonfly skimming water, even amidst a siege, her skill kept the brothers at bay beyond spear’s reach!
As ti passed, the Black Whirlwind Brothers grew increasingly anxious, their attacks even repeating. Demonic ssenger battles used to be swift, confronting the opponent to resolve issues quickly; never drawn-out duels like this. Exhausted of tactics already!
"Running out of tricks?"
The Great Guardian Wolf Master Demon Guardian coldly remarked, then the Soul-Breaking Spear struck each of them, exploding their protective barriers!
Such terrifying destructive power!?
Shocked, the Black Whirlwind Brothers quickly exited the battlefield, bowing humbly, "You’ve defeated us this ti. Thank you, Wolf Master Demon Guardian, for your rcy!"
"Wolf Master Demon Guardian, worthy of fourth place at Shu Dao Mountain, truly deserved!"
The watching Demonic ssengers were dumbfounded; the brothers’ defense items, at least at Second-Turn level, were shattered by a single spear strike? Even if Wolf Master Demon Guardian weren’t a Demonic ssenger, she could surely slaughter most Demonic ssengers here!
If so had thought before that Wolf Master Demon Guardian rely overshadowed her sister’s glory, the solid stepping stone of the Black Whirlwind Brothers made them now acknowledge her true Great Guardian power.
"You’re not bad," Pharmacist’s Wish said blandly, "Join my team tomorrow."
"Yes! The honor to raid the Wolf’s Den with Great Guardian belongs to us three brothers!"
The Black Whirlwind Brothers, eager, ran into the Demon Slaying Hall to write their nas under Wolf Master Demon Guardian’s.
"Who else wants to join my team tomorrow?" Pharmacist’s Wish asked the watching Demonic ssengers.
"!"
"Great Guardian, our Dog Wolf Bear has raided the Wolf’s Den multiple tis, rich in experience!"
"Great Guardian, our Black Wolf Association also..."
On the fourth day of rest, Pharmacist’s Wish, restless, considering Rabbit Heroine’s frequent ntions of exploring the Wolf’s Den, ca to the Demon Slaying Hall to recruit Demonic ssengers today.
But she knew nothing of these Demonic ssengers’ capabilities, uncertain who was strong or weak; and, though she was a Great Guardian, being a newcor of only a few days, how could the Demonic ssengers trust her? At most, they sought to avoid Wolf’s Den entry taxes.
