Over there, as soon as the door closed, Bo Xichen had Spider-Man cornered between him and the door panel. Looking down, he asked, "Are you deliberately trying to tease ? Making a little progress every day just so you can get a reward, hmm?"

"Absolutely not," she retorted confidently, looking right at him.

Bo Xichen found it amusing. The whole school was waiting for Gu Anxi to turn the tables, eager to see her scores. Yet, despite clearly having the ability, she chose to progress slowly, testing him and fishing for rewards. She didn’t even say it out loud, just threw a report card at him every day!!!

A sudden warmth enveloped his heart, and his voice beca slightly hoarse. "Gu Anxi, don’t you dislike the shaless demands of adults?"

"It’s not that I dislike them!" She stared at one of his buttons, absent-mindedly twirling it a couple of tis. Then she muttered faintly, "Uncle, do you actually have a reward?"

Bo Xichen could hardly resist her charm. He lowered his head to give her the reward...

When they ca out, both wore slightly content expressions, which hit Feng Mian hard. Why did watching people in love always make one’s teeth ache with sweetness... He pointed at a few bags in the corner. "Ms. Wang sent these over."

Gu Anxi went over and rummaged through them, discovering several big bags of delicious food. As she looked through them, she asked, "Why did she leave so suddenly?"

Feng Mian sighed deeply. "I told her you two were alone, and your mom’s expression was rather... indescribable."

Gu Anxi just said, "Oh." Then Bo Xichen gently patted her shoulder. "Let’s invite your mom for dinner soday." Essentially, given that he was rewarding the little girl every day, it was, by all reason and sentint, ti he t her parents.

Gu Anxi again said, "Oh. Let’s do it after we co back from Beicheng. We can all have dinner together then."

Bo Xichen smiled without saying anything more.

Days passed one by one. After ten days, Gu Anxi’s grades had steadily improved, placing her in the top five of her year. This dramatic change left all the teachers and students at Qing University astounded; it just went to show that studying hard day and night really did pay off.

Only Principal Wang, who had just returned, sneered inwardly. She’s always been a top student, after all. A recipient of a prestigious chemistry award at sixteen; to her, these problems are nothing more than peanuts. However, he did have so reservations about the rule Qin Siyuan and the student council had cooked up—this ’must test into the fourth-year top ten’ business. Student council autonomy is a good thing, but isn’t this a bit too autocratic? Do they even have any respect for him, the principal? Well then, if Gu Anxi wants to stir things up, to take on the entire student council, let her. It’d be a good lesson for these so-called ’excellent students,’ a reminder that there’s always soone better out there.

Gu Anxi erged from Principal Wang’s office and had only taken a few steps when she noticed Shen Wanqing standing alone, as if waiting for her.

With a faint smile, Gu Anxi walked over.

Shen Wanqing looked haggard, as if she had suffered a great blow, but she spoke with an air of confidence, "Gu Anxi, I am going to Beicheng to participate in the Jiaxing auction with Professor Gao."

Gu Anxi said, sowhat absent-mindedly, "Well, congratulations."

Shen Wanqing said, a hint of haughtiness on her face, "You can’t compete with , nor with Siyuan. Siyuan won a national prize in his first year. You’re nothing, Gu Anxi. And so what if you’re in the top five of your year? If you were given fourth-year papers, you’d probably struggle to even pass."

Qin Siyuan. Always first in the fourth year, even at the provincial level, always first.

Gu Anxi lowered her eyes and smiled. "We’ll see when the ti cos."

Shen Wanqing gave a forced smile. "Gu Anxi, nobody believes you can outdo Siyuan. Just give up! We should go our separate ways in the future."
