Gu Anxi was quite busy, occupied with the acquisition of Bi Shui Yun Tian and with matters at Qing University.
She also had to keep up with her race car practice.
When Bo Xichen was tied up, his mother and Wang Keru would accompany her.
Every ti Gu Anxi finished a few laps, Bo’s mother would erupt in exclamations, praise, and cheers—it was all incredibly sappy.
At first, Wang Keru found it overwhelming, but she soon joined in the chorus.
Exclamations, praises, and cheers flowed freely:
"Anxi is amazing!"
"Our Anxi is so fast!"
"Anxi looks incredible in her racing suit too!"
And so on...
I miss the days when I practiced alone, Gu Anxi thought.
Grandma Chen drifted over, seemingly out of nowhere. "Don’t disturb her practice," she warned.
Bo’s mother and Wang Keru imdiately fell silent, daring only to sneak peeks. After a mont, Bo’s mother whispered to Wang Keru, "Isn’t Anxi cool?"
Wang Keru nodded vigorously. "So cool."
Grandma Chen glared at them.
Bo’s mother said sheepishly, "Alright, alright, we’ll wait outside."
Just then, Gu Anxi rode over after finishing her last lap. Bo’s mother wiped Gu Anxi’s sweat, while Wang Keru handed her water and massaged her back—all under Grandma Chen’s fierce, disapproving gaze!
Doting mothers spoil their children! Grandma Chen thought, glaring at the two.
Bo’s mother cleared her throat. "Anxi, darling, we’ll wait for you outside. Practice hard, but don’t tire yourself out, or Mommy Bo will be heartbroken."
Wang Keru imdiately raised her hand. "I’ll be heartbroken too!"
Grandma Chen rolled her eyes.
The two mothers reluctantly left. Just as they settled into the RV parked outside, they saw the Gu family’s mother-daughter duo approaching.
Bo’s mother remained in the RV, pretending not to see them.
She had a poor impression of won who abandoned their children; any interaction with such a person was purely for appearances. If there was no appointnt, they could simply be ignored.
Wang Keru, however, was quite tense, as if facing a formidable enemy.
Bo’s mother leaned over and patted her hand. "Ke Ru, don’t worry too much about Anxi. She’s not that fragile. Even though I practically want to cradle her in my hands and dote on her all day, I also know she can’t be spoiled. That child is remarkably self-assured."
"How can you tell?" Wang Keru asked, still bewildered.
Bo’s mother chuckled. "She managed to captivate my son, isn’t that proof enough of her assertiveness?"
Wang Keru nodded in agreent. "That’s true."
That’s right! Wang Keru thought, her confidence renewed. No matter what that Gu Mingzhu has, the Bo Family is still a cut above the Gu family. Our Anxi has Bo Xichen! And Xichen is so outstanding!
Wang Keru started to worry again. That Mrs. Gu is Anxi’s biological mother. When they et, will Anxi...
"She won’t," Bo’s mother said, her tone sowhat cool. "That woman is heartless enough. Besides, Anxi considers you her real mother. No matter how much I dote on her, in Anxi’s heart, I can’t compare to you. So, set your mind at ease."
Reassured, Wang Keru was overco with a pleasant surprise. "Really? Am I truly that important to Anxi?"
Bo’s mother said softly, "Grandma Chen was right. You may not have laid the egg, but you’re the one who hatched it! She only recognizes you as her mother."
A fresh wave of excitent washed over Wang Keru.
anwhile, Tang Yuan led Gu Mingzhu into the racing venue, where several racers were already practicing on the track.
Gu Mingzhu’s gaze settled on a point in the distance, a reserved expression flickering across her face. Tang Yuan asked softly, "What’s wrong, Mingzhu?"
Gu Mingzhu gestured towards a spot and said in a low voice, "Mom, look over there. Is that Number 85?"
Tang Yuan recalled. "Yes, that’s Number 85 from Team A. You’ve raced against him four or five tis, haven’t you? He’s never beaten you, correct?"
Mingzhu humd in acknowledgnt. "He has so skill, but there’s still a considerable gap between us."
