His words, soft yet firm, instantly scattered Gu Yuanshan’s hopes, and he left feeling quite dejected.
After the man left, Bo Xichen glanced towards the screen partition. "Alright, he’s gone. You can co out now."
Gu Anxi "oh"-ed, then ran out and snuggled into his arms on the sofa.
Bo Xichen looked down at her. "Heard everything? Are you sure about your decision?"
She humd in affirmation, a faint smile on her lips. "Why would I go? Wouldn’t that just make myself unhappy for no reason?"
Bo Xichen patted her small head. "That’s true. You already have so many people who dote on you."
His expression was reserved. He silently thought that even if the Gu family acknowledged Gu Anxi, it likely wouldn’t be out of genuine affection. They probably just wanted to use her to add to their own prestige. It was better not to acknowledge such relatives.
Afraid she might feel sad, he changed the subject. "Want to take you for hot pot later?"
