Gu Anxi listened to Bo Jin, sowhat dazed. "They’re already filming?"
Bo Jin smiled. "Yes. Robert is aiming for an Oscar sprint, so it’s been moved up."
She added, "So your work might get busier."
Gu Anxi humd an "Okay."
Bo Jin lightly touched her small head. "The release might be set for National Day. It’s a bit rushed, but Disney is confident they can do a good job."
Gu Anxi nodded.
Bo Jin had wanted to say more, but looking at the ti and then at the young couple, she decided it was best to leave first.
After Bo Jin left, Bo Xichen turned around, leaning against the doorfra as he watched her quietly.
After a mont, he beckoned to her. "Co here."
She went over obediently, like a well-behaved puppy.
Bo Xichen reached out to stroke her small head but said nothing, instead gently pulling her into his embrace.
She rested against his chest, still docile. After a while, she whispered, "Bo Xichen, do you feel particularly proud?"
He looked down at her, a smile in his eyes. "Yes, I do!"
They had brushed past each other so many tis; fortunately, he had finally waited long enough for her.
「...」
The next day was the weekend, and Bo Xichen rarely took a day off from the hospital. He spent the morning in his study handling so official matters.
Gu Anxi didn’t disturb him; she was also quite busy coordinating with Disney on her work.
She quite liked this dynamic. If a couple had nothing of their own to do and were always sticking together, it probably wouldn’t be very healthy.
When she finished her work around noon, she stretched and went to find Bo Xichen.
He was still engrossed in his work. Hearing her footsteps, he didn’t even look up as he gently asked, "Where are you planning to go for lunch?"
Gu Anxi leaned on the desk opposite him, propped her chin on her hands, and thought hard. "How about Thai food?"
He chuckled. "Any other plans?"
"Um... How about we invite Zhou Yunchen and Zhang Niuniu, and then go to the shooting range?" Gu Anxi suggested after so thought.
Bo Xichen, signing docunts with one hand, tapped her head with his other. "Got addicted playing at Grandpa’s, didn’t you?"
Gu Anxi grumbled softly, "I just didn’t get enough!"
Then she coughed lightly. "It’s painful to hold back."
He laughed, capped his pen, and stood up. "Alright, let’s ask them to join us."
"What about lunch?" she asked, hugging his arm.
Bo Xichen looked down. "We’re shooting with them, and you want to eat with them too?"
She made a face. "Stingy."
Bo Xichen pulled her closer, his voice slightly dangerous. "This is called territorial awareness."
Her eyes sparkled. Holding his arm, she followed him out like a little koala.
In the car, she called Zhou Yunchen, asking him to bring Zhang Niuniu and setting a ti and place.
After hanging up, she tilted her head to look at her Little Uncle. "Zhou Yunchen and the others will definitely think I’m being disloyal."
"Isn’t it good to give them so ti to date?" Bo Xichen smiled faintly.
Gu Anxi leaned back against the seat and chuckled. "Them?"
Bo Xichen looked ahead. "Naughty again!"
"I am not," Gu Anxi whined playfully in a small voice. "Little Uncle, you only scold now."
"Is that so?" Gripping the steering wheel, he made a turn and chuckled softly. "How am I scolding you? I’m clearly loving you."
Her face flushed, and she stopped talking to him.
She turned her little face away, but after a mont, she couldn’t help talking to him again... Bantering like this felt wonderful.
After lunch, they went to Beicheng’s largest shooting range, a popular spot for the city’s elite who enjoyed shooting.
By the ti Bo Xichen and Gu Anxi arrived, Zhou Yunchen and Zhang Niuniu were already there.
Unexpectedly, Shen Congwen was also present, sitting with Zhou Yunchen.
Zhang Niuniu, standing to the side, looked rather speechless.
Gu Anxi cleared her throat. "Vice President Shen is also interested in shooting?"
Shen Congwen smiled lightly. "I used to play occasionally in school."
Coming from a good family, it was normal for him to have such exposure.
So, the five of them went in together, entering a private shooting room. The individual shooting booths there were separated by bulletproof glass, making the entire facility look quite spacious, and many people were shooting.
Gu Anxi didn’t notice Chen Ming accompanying King Jingyao on the other side.
Although King Jingyao was an extrely busy man, he loved shooting, and Chen Ming always accompanied him.
Chen Ming’s skills were the best among the older generation, and King Jingyao highly valued him.
During a break, King Jingyao patted Chen Ming’s shoulder. "Not bad, you’ve improved again."
In front of such an important figure, Chen Ming was naturally very modest.
As King Jingyao himself took aim, he casually asked, "I heard Old Lin intends for you to succeed him?"
Chen Ming answered cautiously, "Old Lin is in excellent health; he can go on for another ten years."
"You certainly know what to say." King Jingyao hit a ten-ring, then turned his head and chuckled. "I also heard he initially favored Gu Anxi. Chen Ming, what do you think?"
Chen Ming grew even more cautious. "Miss Gu is, naturally, a very good candidate."
King Jingyao ca over and patted his shoulder. "And compared to you?"
Chen Ming coughed lightly. "Mr. King, how can they be compared!"
King Jingyao laughed. "I heard you outshone Gu Anxi in front of Old Lin. Is there such a thing?"
Chen Ming, who was in his early thirties, handso, and with a very straightforward personality, rubbed his hair in embarrassnt. "Not really! For a novice to perform as she did is already remarkable."
King Jingyao then thought of that little brat and smiled faintly. "Her talent is indeed high! Whatever she tries, she seems to excel more than others."
Even her scheming was top-notch!
Wasn’t he played by her again and again?
That Lin Yuan was now just one level below Bo Jingshen. Goodness knew how many people Bo Jingshen had stepped on and for how long he’d had to act subserviently to reach his current position! And Lin Yuan... all it took was Gu Anxi playing a ga of cards. Even though the big shot was fond of his "little sister," he always felt a bit indignant deep down. Being so easily played by her was infuriating. Now that he’d heard Chen Ming had bested her, a secret satisfaction blood within him. Finally, soone could handle her. That was why he’d had the Secretary-General summon Chen Ming.
Having received what amounted to a confirmation, the "elder brother" in him felt imnsely gratified.
Just as King Jingyao changed the magazine and was about to take another shot, his gaze suddenly froze. He stared at a certain spot for a long mont without blinking.
Chen Ming and Wang Jingchuan were surprised and followed his gaze. Then, they too, were stunned.
In the adjacent booth were none other than Gu Anxi and her group.
Besides Bo Xichen, there were several other people King Jingyao didn’t recognize. He only found Shen Congwen sowhat familiar, thinking he might be one of Gu Yuanshan’s n; he had never seen the other two.
But they all seed to have a very close relationship with Gu Anxi.
King Jingyao lit a cigarette and signaled Chen Ming and the Secretary-General not to alert the group over there.
