Chu Ci stared at her for a few seconds before turning to walk ahead. She was startled for a mont, imdiately hurrying after him, but her short legs made her struggle.
Eventually, he slowed his pace. Chu Yan followed him to the parking lot, silent as she got into the car and sat dazedly with a small bag in her arms.
In the days that followed the incident, she had changed a lot.
Chu Ci fastened his seatbelt, then asked in a low voice, "Are you that afraid of ?"
She didn’t make a sound. He asked again, "What are you afraid of?"
Chu Yan answered in a small voice, "I’m not scared."
"If you’re not scared, let’s go for dinner," he said calmly, and then started the car.
Chu Yan turned her head to look at his slightly cold face and asked, "Are you mad?"
"I wouldn’t say mad. But I’m not happy either," he said, giving a faint smile. After that, he focused on driving, silently observing the traffic ahead.
Chu Yan didn’t dare to provoke him and just sat back in her seat, eyes wide open.
She always felt sowhat restrained, unlike before.
Chu Ci could naturally sense this, which made his expression darken. Half an hour later, he pulled up outside a vegetarian restaurant, opened the car door, and said, "Get out."
Chu Yan got out and followed him through a special entrance into a private room.
