Shen Congwen imdiately slled the scent on him. "Have you used my perfu?"
"It slls quite good," Zhou Yunchen chuckled. "But Congwen, why would a grown man use perfu—or do you have so sort of special hobby?"
Shen Congwen ignored him and ate his al quietly. After finishing, he moved to clear the bowls, but Zhou Yunchen stopped him. "I’ll do it!" Zhou Yunchen said softly. As he spoke, he glanced at Shen Congwen’s hands. So delicate and tender, they don’t look like hands that do housework.
So he smiled. "Then I should be the one to do it. I forgot to tell you, Aunt Shen asked to take care of you here. She also said... we’ll be living together and can look out for each other."
Shen Congwen was stunned. Before he could process this, Zhou Yunchen added, "But I can see you’re not the type who likes living with others, so don’t worry. I’ve bought an apartnt downstairs. If you ever need anything, just call , okay?"
Shen Congwen remained stunned.
Zhou Yunchen efficiently tidied and washed up. He’d been independent since childhood, unlike Shen Congwen, who was delicately raised, unaccustod to chores, and never cooked at ho.
When he finished and ca out, Shen Congwen was on the sofa, flipping through an illustrated magazine with one hand and holding a cigarette in the other, smoking slowly. He looked very refined and handso, and the sight was quite pleasing. But Zhou Yunchen took the cigarette from his hand, extinguished it, and threw it into the trash can. He then tossed the cigarette pack away as well, saying commandingly, "No more smoking from now on."
"None of your business," Shen Congwen said coolly, unconcerned.
Zhou Yunchen wore an ambiguous smile. "If I don’t look after you, who will? Your future girlfriend?"
"Oh... right, that young woman you dated last ti, where did she go? Why isn’t she here taking care of you?" he asked, rather provokingly.
Shen Congwen glanced at him. "No spark."
Zhou Yunchen sat beside him, took the illustrated magazine from his hands, and smiled gently. "Then what kind of person do you find attractive? Tell , and I’ll introduce you to that type in the future, okay?"
Shen Congwen stood up. "Boring."
His hand was grabbed, and he was pulled back down. Just as he was about to speak, Zhou Yunchen said softly, "Watch so TV with for a bit."
Shen Congwen tried to move, but Zhou Yunchen pressed his shoulder down, holding him in place.
Sothing felt off about this situation.
Zhou Yunchen, however, seed perfectly calm, acting as if this was all a matter of course. After a mont, he reached out and touched Shen Congwen’s forehead. "It’s not as hot anymore."
Shen Congwen lowered his eyes. "You can go now," he said softly.
Zhou Yunchen replied matter-of-factly, "I’ll sleep on the sofa."
Shen Congwen couldn’t hold back his irritation. "Zhou Yunchen, don’t go too far."
"Looking after you is going too far?" Zhou Yunchen chuckled. "Congwen, your temper is too foul. You need to work on that, or your future girlfriend will have a hard ti, won’t she?"
"I don’t have a lover," Shen Congwen snapped, turning his face away. I... I’m a girl, how could I have a lover?
Zhou Yunchen leaned closer, his voice like a warm caress. "Really? Dare you say you’ve never liked anyone?"
"No!"
Zhou Yunchen moved even closer. "But what if soone likes you? You might not realize it, but this awkwardness of yours... it’s quite endearing."
Shen Congwen’s handso face flushed crimson as he glared at him.
Zhou Yunchen’s voice dropped to an alarmingly husky tone. "Those young won are all quite pretty, Congwen. Why don’t you like any of them?" He spoke as if he understood completely. "If it’s not a physiological problem, then it must be psychological. How about this, your brother here will take you to the hospital for a check-up? That way, we can reassure Aunt Shen, and you can help the Shen family continue its lineage and produce heirs?"
