Even though Zhou Yunchen had played through countless scenarios in his mind of her returning to womanhood, he couldn’t quite imagine what that would look like.
He stared intensely at Shen Congwen’s delicate collarbone. His mind... a stampede of wild horses!
Shen Congwen stood there, calmly smoking a cigarette to the end, then softly said, "Zhou Yunchen, it’s ti for you to go ho."
Zhou Yunchen leaned against the door, chuckling. "Kicking out after I’ve had my fill?"
He suddenly stood up, heading in Shen Congwen’s direction, his voice a low whisper. "Do you really want to go?"
Shen Congwen didn’t reply. He tried to skirt around Zhou Yunchen to get to the living room, but Zhou Yunchen grabbed his wrist. "You haven’t answered my question."
Shen Congwen struggled. "I didn’t invite you over."
Zhou Yunchen suddenly laughed. "So disobedient." ...girl, he added silently.
Shen Congwen couldn’t help but say, "Don’t talk to in that tone."
"Then, in what tone should I speak with you? You tell , huh?" With one hand, Zhou Yunchen pinned him between himself and the wall. With his other hand, he fished out a cigarette, lit it, and let it dangle from his lips.
His appearance was extrely masculine. Even Shen Congwen, despite having lived as a man for many years, couldn’t help but feel a little lightheaded from this potent aura.
He turned his face to the side. "Zhou Yunchen, don’t you have anything better to do?"
"I’m on vacation," Zhou Yunchen replied lightly. "I told President Gu I was pursuing a girlfriend, and if I didn’t succeed, I might just not co back to work at all."
Shen Congwen leaned against the wall. "Then you can go pursue her."
Zhou Yunchen took a puff from his cigarette and chuckled lightly. "I’m asking for your opinion."
"No need." Shen Congwen dropped his gaze. "Zhou Yunchen, I’m quite a boring person. You don’t need to keep pestering ."
As he spoke, his long eyelashes fluttered, making him look exceptionally attractive—almost like that celebrity known for such features. Coupled with his well-defined nose and the elegant curve of his lips, he was truly handso. It was no wonder Gu Mingzhu secretly harbored feelings for him. One could only imagine what Gu Mingzhu would think after finding out Shen Congwen was a woman.
Zhou Yunchen moved a bit closer, his voice slightly husky. "But what if I find you interesting?"
Shen Congwen suddenly looked up, and then a minor disaster struck. Their eyes t, and both were montarily stunned, caught off guard by the sudden, unexpected contact.
This is the perfect opportunity, Zhou Yunchen thought. But if I push any further now, I’ll likely frighten this... little lady. She clearly isn’t ready to shed her current identity. Moving too fast would only scare... her.
Zhou Yunchen took a step back, watching as Shen Congwen slipped away, unbothered.
Of course, Shen Congwen wouldn’t just hide. That would be too spineless. Instead, he chose to give Zhou Yunchen the cold shoulder.
He sat alone on the sofa, watching TV, occasionally flipping through the channels.
Zhou Yunchen tolerated this behavior, simply sitting to the side and handling so work on his phone. Even though Gu Anxi was at An Pu, the little rascal hardly did any work. She’d just sit there drawing comics or playing gas, claiming that her rely filling his seat was already a big help. She was utterly useless.
Zhou Yunchen couldn’t understand; was she the boss, or was he?
Even though he was on vacation at ho, his secretary brought docunts to him every day. He worked from ho and even cooked als in the evening. And yet, soone didn’t appreciate it.
Am I being too indulgent? Zhou Yunchen wondered. Is that why everything I do is ignored, and why I haven’t received a response for so long?
He put down his phone and suddenly spoke up. "Don’t worry, I’ll go back to work tomorrow."
Shen Congwen turned to look at him.
Zhou Yunchen smiled faintly. "Soone introduced a girl to . I’ve t her a couple of tis, and she seems quite nice. In the future, I might... not be able to co over as often."
Shen Congwen just listened silently.
Zhou Yunchen stood up. "Two single guys like us can still get together to chat and eat, but it’s different when there’s a girlfriend involved."
He stretched lazily. "If you don’t mind, I could bring her over, and the three of us could have dinner together."
He winked, looking very amicable. "I’ll do the cooking, either here or at my place. It just depends on whether you mind."
"I’m not in the habit of dining with strangers," Shen Congwen responded calmly. "You two enjoy your al."
Zhou Yunchen said "Oh," as if he understood. "I see! Well, Aunt Shen asked to take care of you before... I’ll explain to her later. She can co over and prepare your als herself."
Shen Congwen pursed his lips. "No need. I’ll sort it out with her myself."
Zhou Yunchen put his phone away. "She even asked to find you a girlfriend, saying you’re as lively as a block of wood all day. I, on the other hand, think you might not be so dull with a young lady around, maybe..."
He trailed off with a mysterious smile.
Shen Congwen couldn’t take it anymore. "Zhou Yunchen! Aren’t you crossing a line?"
