The driver glanced at Deputy Shen in the rearview mirror, and a flicker of understanding crossed his face. It had been said before that their relationship wasn’t simple, and now, seeing this, it was all too clear. It was just a pity that such a refined and elegant woman like Deputy Shen had encountered their cunning Director Zhou. It wasn’t that it was bad, just that the power dynamic was so unequal. The driver, having been with him for a while, was all too familiar with Director Zhou’s tactics.
The car drove smoothly. Outside, the lights shimred like colored glass, while the car’s interior remained dimly lit.

Finally, Zhou Yunchen could hold back no longer. He reached out, his fingers gently tracing her beautiful jawline, back and forth. In the dim light, his expression was unreadable, his thoughts inscrutable.
But when the driver dropped them off at the villa and saw Director Zhou carrying Deputy Shen inside, he had a pretty good idea of what would happen next.
With a sly chuckle, he dialed Gu Anxi’s number to share the good news.
Gu Anxi, on the other end, was all smiles and even ordered more chicken legs for everyone as they partied late into the night.
anwhile, Zhou Yunchen carried Shen Congwen to the second floor and gently set her down. He stood quietly in the dim, warm-yellow light, gazing at her tranquil face. A flicker of hesitation crossed his mind, but it was only a flicker, and he swiftly banished it completely...
He had been born alone and had only found a sense of ho because of Gu Yuntian. Throughout his life, there had been so many things he’d yearned for but couldn’t obtain. After a mont, Shen Congwen finally sat up. She rubbed her aching forehead as she looked around the unfamiliar room.
She froze for a mont. Where was this place? Had I blacked out from drinking?
Leaning gently against the headboard, she didn’t rush to leave but instead tried to carefully recall what had happened.
But her mory only held fragnts of breathy whispers and a man’s deep, hoarse voice... A voice had kept calling, ’Congwen...’
Shen Congwen kept her eyes slightly closed, unwilling to admit to herself that the man had been Zhou Yunchen.
After a long mont, she opened her eyes and surveyed the bedroom. It was, indeed, decorated in Zhou Yunchen’s style.
Her lips pressed into a thin line, her gaze fixed on the tall, slender figure standing in the doorway. "Why?"
