The next day, Gu Anxi made a trip to An Pu. She went partly for work and partly to check on Zhou Yunchen—not out of concern, but to watch the fun.
As soon as she arrived, the secretary greeted her, "President Gu."
Gu Anxi, hands in her pockets, peeked inside. "Where’s your President Zhou?"
Secretary Wang smiled. "President Zhou isn’t in the company this morning."
Not in the company, huh, Gu Anxi thought, a little disappointed. So much for watching the drama unfold.

On the other end, Zhou Yunchen, working in his apartnt and puffing on a cigarette, bantered back, "You’re the one with unspeakable problems."
Gu Anxi laughed secretly. "Why aren’t you at the company? Working from ho and playing chef again?"
Zhou Yunchen said irritably, "You think if I wanted to cook, *she’d* even give the chance?"
Gu Anxi taunted him with ill intent, "Zhou Yunchen, don’t tell . You’re not *that* pathetic, are you?"
TSK TSK, he’s so pitiful!
Zhou Yunchen took a hard drag on his cigarette and sneered, "This kind of budding, hazy love... people like you, who’ve been comfortably married forever, can’t possibly comprehend it. I pity you, Gu Anxi."
Gu Anxi grinned. "You sound quite fierce. So, you’re saying you can handle it and don’t need my help?"
Zhou Yunchen perked up instantly. "You could... how can you help?"
Gu Anxi giggled. "So now I’m not an ’old married woman’ anymore, Zhou Yunchen? Do you even understand what sweet love is!"
President Zhou imdiately backed down. "Alright, alright, I’m just jealous of your sweet love with Professor Bo. Now, quickly, tell your brilliant plan."
Hearing this, Gu Anxi realized he clearly wasn’t making any progress. Or perhaps he had made so initial headway, but Shen Congwen was now ignoring him...
She leaned back on the sofa and thought for a mont. "You saw what happened a few days ago. The Gu family is desperately trying to protect Gu Mingzhu, so Shen Congwen might be out of a job soon..."
Zhou Yunchen, being sharp, imdiately understood this was likely Gu Anxi’s doing. Gu Anxi had a knack for making things seem effortless while maximizing the benefits.
He found it amusing and, at the sa ti, touching. They had practically grown up together. Gu Yuntian had been kind to him, and Anxi had always treated him like an older brother. She even worried about his romantic pursuits.
Zhou Yunchen, a domineering man, felt a wave of emotion. "Anxi."
He recalled little Anxi, so small back then, hopping all the way to far-off England to call him ’Brother Yunchen’ and ’Brother Congwen’... He broke out in a cold sweat. If he had known back then that Shen Congwen was a girl, perhaps his path wouldn’t have taken such a turn!
Gu Anxi waved a dismissive hand. "Alright, alright, don’t get all sentintal like a woman. Your Congwen won’t like that."
Zhou Yunchen gritted his fine, white teeth. "Are you asking for a beating?"
Gu Anxi considered. "Why don’t we go to the shooting range? We can call Chen Ming."
Zhou Yunchen imdiately agreed. He had been wanting to unwind for the past couple of days anyway; things had been rather trying for him.
After they spoke, Gu Anxi imdiately called Chen Ming to invite him. Chen Ming happened to be off duty that day. He arrived in loose, baggy shorts and a T-shirt, looking as if he’d just crawled out of bed.
Fortunately, the staff at this high-end club all recognized Chen Ming, so no one gave him strange looks.
When Chen Ming arrived, Zhou Yunchen and Gu Anxi were already in the thick of it, taking shots back and forth. Chen Ming joined in, and the three of them, all familiar with each other, didn’t hold back. Gu Anxi, shooting with both hands, soundly defeated Zhou Yunchen and Chen Ming!
Chen Ming put down his gun, sat on a lounge chair, took a sip of his drink, and then said, "Anxi, with skills like yours, I reckon only the legendary ’Infinite’ in our country could match you."
Gu Anxi, who was drinking water, nearly spat it out.
She coughed lightly. "I lost my composure for a mont." Then she looked at Chen Ming. "You really think too highly of . How could I possibly compare to Infinite!"
Chen Ming examined her carefully, then reconsidered. "Actually, they seem different. Legend says Infinite always wears all white on missions."
Gu Anxi thought of her Qing University uniform and coughed lightly. "Maybe it’s not specially prepared! Perhaps it’s just a coincidence?"
Chen Ming imdiately adopted a professional expression. "Top operatives like that usually have a sense of ritual when they go on missions. You ordinary people wouldn’t understand."
Gu Anxi looked blank. "Ah, they have a sense of ritual?"
