Gu Anxi lowered her head, apologizing profusely, "Ah, brother-in-law, I’m so sorry. I completely forgot about you!"
She imdiately dialed for an ambulance.
The ambulance arrived in less than five minutes, whisking away the powerful and influential figure amidst a flurry of chaotic activity. Zhou Yu didn’t move. Little Darling coaxed her, "Sister Zhou, you’re still his legal wife. If the worst should happen, you’ll be his legal widow. By all rights, you should go and look after him."
Zhou Yu’s eyes were slightly red. She slipped on one of Min Xin’s coats and followed him into the ambulance.
No sooner had they departed than Gu Anxi received a call from her older brother, who was roaring over the phone, "Gu Anxi, get your ass over here right now!"
Little Darling shivered with fear and obediently went downstairs.
In the first-floor lobby, a dozen or so people were waiting for her.
"Boss Gu, our acting was pretty convincing, right?"
"Boss Gu, those rubber bullets of yours actually hurt!"

She made a gun gesture with her hand.
The dozen or so n counted their money, smiling with satisfaction.
Gu Anxi watched them leave, rubbing her chin.
Indeed, she had hired these people, but the bullet that hit Min Xin wasn’t her doing. Who could have infiltrated her group?
She had likely figured it out and gave a cold sneer.
It seed soone else didn’t want Min Xin to have such a significant weakness.
She tidied herself up and drove to King Jingyao’s place. King Jingyao was in an important eting. Hearing the commotion outside, his secretary leaned in and whispered, "Miss Anxi is here."
Her older brother ground his teeth. "She actually dares to show her face."
With that, he rose and walked out, leaving everyone else in the room completely bewildered. They only knew Min Xin had been shot. But what did this have to do with Miss Gu? And why did Mr. Wang look so furious?
The secretary smiled. "Please continue the eting, everyone."
Then, he hurried off to perform damage control.
Just as he entered the office, he saw his boss hurl a teacup. The secretary’s heart ached—

Gu Anxi dodged effortlessly, complaining, "Why are you throwing things at people for no reason?"
Her older brother grabbed a Tang Dynasty paperweight and hurled it. It shattered on the floor. He seed to have vented so of his anger, standing with hands on his hips, panting. "It’s you I want to smash, you lawless little brat! Do you have any idea who Min Xin is, what his status is? How dare you cripple him and dump him in the hospital! I knew you were audacious, but I never imagined you’d be so utterly lawless, daring to pull sothing like this in broad daylight! And those people were even brazenly collecting their paynt in the lobby!"
Her older brother was clearly livid. "Fine! I’ll deliver justice for the heavens today and eliminate you, so you don’t remain in this world as a scourge!"
Another priceless artifact ca flying, smashing the secretary’s heart to pieces.
Heavens, these are all treasures, valuable treasures! Why can’t you aim better? You keep missing Miss Anxi and hitting everything else!
The poor secretary scurried around, trying to catch them, but how could he possibly succeed? Soon, the floor was littered with fragnts.
Even Gu Anxi winced watching the destruction. She waited until the important man’s anger subsided and he sat down, glaring at her.
Only then did she go to the wine cabinet, retrieve a bottle of fine red wine, and personally pour him a glass. "Have a drink to cool off."
Her older brother had wanted to smash that too, but then he considered that it might hurt her feelings too much, so he restrained himself. "I’m not drinking."
Little Darling tugged his arm. "Am I really that audacious a person?"
King Jingyao tweaked her ear. "Still denying it? Who was it on the hotel’s first floor, handing out money like so kind of wealth-scattering deity? Gu Anxi, you’ve really outdone yourself! After what you’ve pulled, do you think Min Xin will let you off? Don’t you know how vicious that man can be?"
"Sister Zhou will protect ," Gu Anxi retorted. "If you’re tired of , then so be it."
King Jingyao’s heart skipped a beat. "What do you an, ’so be it’?"
Little Darling huffed. "Our sibling bond, huh? After all you’ve said, it would be utterly tactless of to keep imposing on Mr. Wang. It’s better if I leave early and stop irritating you every day!"
With that, she turned to leave.
Her older brother’s temples throbbed. He roared, "Take one more step, and I’ll break your legs!"
Little Darling didn’t leave, but she seed genuinely angry now, sitting on the sofa and ignoring him.
King Jingyao waited for a long ti, but she didn’t co to apologize. When he glanced over again, ha! She was actually playing a ga on her phone.
He went over and tweaked her ear. "Turn off your phone."
She tossed her phone aside. "It’s not like you’d listen to my explanation anyway. That bullet isn’t sothing the few ’janitors’ I hired could possess."
King Jingyao looked at her.
Gu Anxi produced a bullet casing. "Look, this..."
King Jingyao stared at it. "This is..."
"J’s!" Gu Anxi said coldly. "Think about it, who could possibly have sothing like this? I guess this was Dark making a move. Their objective is to make Min Xin give up on Zhou Yu. They probably found out we’ve been in contact with Zhou Yu’s side and are afraid Min Xin will abandon their cooperation because of her."
King Jingyao nodded. "Your reasoning is sound."
Gu Anxi spread her hands. "Well, I am soone who’s lawless and loves to stir up trouble! Fine, my analysis ends here. I’m leaving."
Her older brother grabbed her, his face deliberately stern. "Upset because I scolded you a bit? Dare you say you didn’t go overboard today?"
He tweaked her ear again. "They’re a married couple staying in a hotel, and you book the room next door? What’s that all about? Are you so kind of pervert?!"
Gu Anxi retorted righteously, "I need to protect Sister Zhou."
"Oh, please! You just have a twisted sense of fun," King Jingyao said, sticking a cigarette in his mouth. "When Min Xin really bullies her, would you actually have the guts to rush in?"
Little Darling lit it for him and huffed, "Serves him right he got shot. Now he won’t be able to move for at least two months."
King Jingyao took a long drag from his cigarette, eyeing her. "You’ve got so impure thoughts, don’t you!"
Gu Anxi smiled sweetly. "Older brother, you’re just jealous of them, aren’t you! Oh, that Lin Hua isn’t bad. Her temperant is quite similar to Sister Zhou’s."
King Jingyao swatted her. "Stop sidetracking! I don’t have any such intentions. Right, about that Dark analysis, let’s discuss it properly..."
Gu Anxi rolled her eyes. Look at him, all he cares about is power, only thinking about forcing Min Xin to retreat so he can replace him with his own people. Serves him right he’s single!!!
