Early in the morning, Shen Congwen woke up, softly touching the spot beside her on the pillow. It was still warm; Zhou Yunchen must have just gotten out of bed.
She lay quietly, listening to the faint sounds coming from outside, likely soone making breakfast in the kitchen.
She rolled over, intending to go back to sleep, but about a minute later, she opened her eyes again and reached for her phone on the bedside table.
Seeing it was off, she switched it on and was imdiately t with a barrage of new ssages.
There were ssages from her secretary, her parents, and other relatives, all concerning Zhou Yunchen.
Shen Congwen ran her fingers through her hair, wondering why the entire world seed to know about her and Zhou Yunchen when they hadn’t planned to announce it publicly.
She leaned against the headboard, opened Weibo, and saw on the trending list that her and Zhou Yunchen’s nas were linked, tagged with "Exposed!"
Shen Congwen stared at it for a long mont without blinking, then called out, "Zhou Yunchen."
Zhou Yunchen pushed the door open and ca in, leaning over to kiss her hair. "Awake?"
Shen Congwen held up her phone. "Did you turn off my phone last night? Did you already know?"
He chuckled, snatching the phone from her, and pressed her hand gently. "Angry?"
Shen Congwen remained silent, just looking up at him.
He chuckled lowly. "When I found out, the whole world was already gossiping. I was in the middle of making you noodles. After going to all that trouble, do you think I could just let them burn?"
Shen Congwen was exasperated. She scratched his back hard. "You really are..."
"Any man would have done the sa in that situation," he said, sowhat shalessly.
Shen Congwen pushed him away and walked toward the bathroom. She was wearing his black shirt; it was a bit long on her but served perfectly as a nightgown.
At 175cm tall, her slender, willowy figure looked very attractive from behind.
Zhou Yunchen went over, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her into his arms, his chin resting against her neck. "We’re in a normal relationship. What are you afraid of?"
Shen Congwen was silent for a mont before saying, "It’s not that I’m scared; I just don’t like being the center of public attention."
She tugged at the hem of the shirt. "Do you think it’s appropriate for us to be seen like this?"
And she absolutely did not want to announce her gender under such circumstances. It might not have mattered when Zhou Yunchen was rely a businessman, but things were different now. Shen Congwen found herself in a dilemma.
Zhou Yunchen knew what she was thinking. He murmured, "Let them talk. If you don’t want to announce it, then don’t. Hmm?"
Shen Congwen tilted her head, eyeing him skeptically. "What about the reporters? They’ll be tailing us every day. Besides, you’ll have a hard ti justifying this from your side as well."
Just thinking about it made her angry, and when she got angry, an attractive blush would creep onto her fair face, making her particularly captivating. Zhou Yunchen gazed at her for a mont, then suddenly murmured, "Weren’t you going to take a shower?"
Shen Congwen was montarily stunned as he scooped her into his arms. Walking towards the bathroom, he said, "Go take a shower, and breakfast will be ready when you co out. I’ve set it for thirty minutes from now."

Once in the bathroom, he set her down, then hugged her from behind, murmuring, "Congwen, let your hair grow out... Just a little longer, and then we’ll get married."
She stared at her reflection in the mirror, stunned.
He smiled. "What did you think I was going to do?"
He buried his head against her shoulder again, nuzzling her like a big, affectionate dog. "I want to get married," he murmured, his voice coaxing. "I want a ho, a wife, and children."
"Hey," she nudged him playfully with her foot. "I haven’t planned on having children yet."
He chuckled softly. "Waiting another two years is fine too. We’ll be newlyweds then, and we haven’t really dated each other properly anyway."
Although he was the only man Shen Congwen had ever been with, she wasn’t foolish. She hmphed. "This might be my first romance, but Mr. Zhou, you know very well this isn’t your first."
Zhou Yunchen said with utmost sincerity, "Those weren’t serious."
He didn’t deny it, as so things could be discovered with a little inquiry. He had indeed engaged in so superficial dalliances expected in the business world. Before he knew Shen Congwen was a woman, he truly hadn’t cared much for such things. But after that, there was genuinely nothing more; he lived a scrupulously clean life, like a monk.
Shen Congwen said nothing, squeezing toothpaste onto her brush and starting to brush. Zhou Yunchen sidled up to her affectionately, saying, "So, it’s settled then. We’ll register the marriage first, and once your hair grows out, we’ll have the wedding."
As for the rumors swirling outside, he didn’t care.
Shen Congwen looked at him in the mirror, her voice muffled by the toothbrush. "Zhou Yunchen, are you doing this on purpose? Is this your way of forcing to marry you?"
Zhou Yunchen replied with great earnestness, "This wasn’t my doing. If you’re looking for soone to bla, it would have to be Gu Mingzhu. I, on the other hand, have pursued you with all sincerity, willing to offer you everything I have."
Shalessly, he asked her again, "Weren’t the noodles I made last night delicious?"
Despite herself, Shen Congwen’s face flushed red...
Zhou Yunchen chuckled softly, whispering close to her ear, "I’ll wait for you in the dining room. I have an important eting in a bit."
