Bo Nianyao could no longer bear to listen, turning his head, "Lin Yun."
Madam Bo seed quite agitated, "You’re defending him again! It’s precisely because you’re always defending him that he has turned into such an ungrateful wretch. You’re always so harsh on Xichen. Why do you indulge this elder so much? In my opinion, he’s completely right to seek revenge on you. It’s your excessive doting that has made him what he is today!"
At her words, Bo Nianyao was sowhat helpless.
Bo Qing, however, was stunned, mumbling to himself, "What? I am the Old Master’s son?"
Madam Bo scoffed coldly, "Whose son would you be if not that old scoundrel’s? Did you really think you were the Master’s son? We said that to keep you from despairing, to prevent you from feeling too inferior. Well, the family treated you like a Young Master in every respect, and how did you repay us? With hostility! All those years Nian Yao was running around, facing danger several tis—weren’t you, perhaps, the one behind it all? And yet, you still call him ’Big Brother’ so affectionately to his face."
Bo Qing stood in the dark, listening to Madam Bo’s words. They felt like a cold, biting wind, like a knife cutting into his face, causing a raw pain. It was as if she had slapped him hard across the face.
He was the Old Master’s son. The Old Master, at such an advanced age... had actually fathered him? He didn’t believe it.
Madam Bo chuckled grimly, "We originally didn’t want to tell you this, fearing it would hurt your pathetic pride. But since your dog even blew up Xichen’s house, there’s no need for pleasantries anymore!"
Her voice was resolute, "Bo Qing, you are the Old Master’s son! You are the biological younger brother of the Bo family’s previous Master. Nian Yao would have to call you ’Uncle’!"
Bo Nianyao cupped his face in his hands. "Lin Yun, please stop! This is unbearable!"
Madam Bo scolded him, "That shaless Old Master isn’t agitated in his grave, so why should we be? We toiled to raise his son, while he’s probably resting easy underground, leaving us to endure this tornt!"
She looked at Bo Qing again. "Still, this is his retribution!"
Bo Qing’s face was as pale as a sheet of paper.
Bo Nianyao sighed softly, "Lin Yun, that’s enough."
If she kept going, even the lid of the Old Master’s coffin wouldn’t stay shut!
Madam Bo fell silent, standing to one side.
Bo Qing seed to have regained his senses. "I will find out the truth."
By this point, Madam Bo had truly had enough of him. She was unyielding by nature and couldn’t stand moral filth. In the past, she had shown Bo Qing affection out of her duty as his elder sister-in-law, believing she had treated him well. However, he had repeatedly hard their family and was now dragging Beicheng’s elite circles into his ss. Heaven should really take this scourge away.
Bo Qing slowly took a step back, about to leave, when Bo Nianyao said, "Bo Qing, your sister-in-law spoke harshly, but I hope you’ll reconsider. Co back. We can still be brothers, and we’ll let the matter of the Old Master rest."
With his back turned, Bo Qing’s voice was icy. "Bo Nianyao, do you think that’s possible?"
Bo Nianyao said with a hint of lancholy, "Bo Qing, my neglect of your emotional and psychological developnt led to this situation. In a way, I’ve wronged you."
Lin Yun couldn’t listen anymore and fiercely kicked her husband. "Bo Nianyao, stop with that misplaced kindness!"
Bo Nianyao smiled bitterly. "My dear, I’m trying to guide him back to the right path!"
"Do you think you’re Monk Tang?" Madam Bo retorted, incensed. "If you could guide him, he would have changed for the better long ago! Look at him, since he arrived, has he once said sorry? Has he ever worried about you? He constantly wishes you dead, wishes Xichen dead, and wishes for the entire Bo Family to be wiped out so he can beco the Family Head!"
