After dinner, Gu Anxi bade farewell to everyone and returned to Si Garden with Bo Xichen.
Feeling full from the al, she leaned back in her chair, patted her belly, and whispered with her eyes closed, "Uncle Bo, wake up when we arrive ho."
Bo Xichen smiled faintly. "Okay."
She leaned trustingly against the seat, her guard completely down. Bo Xichen watched her silently for a mont before starting the car.
The night had deepened, and the streetlights seed dim. He drove quietly, stopping at each red light to look at his sleeping little darling.
It had been a busy day for him too, and he was a little tired. He opened the car window, took out a cigarette, and lit it. Worried she might get cold, he draped his coat over her. After smoking half of it, he extinguished the cigarette and closed the window.
Gu Anxi woke up feeling hot and looked at the coat on her. "Uncle Bo, I’m not cold."
It was so hot.
Sitting up, she glanced around. They were almost at Si Garden. She murmured, "We’re ho!"
He humd in acknowledgnt and drove for a few more minutes before stopping the car.
Just as Gu Anxi unbuckled her seat belt and was about to get out, he gently restrained her hand. "Anxi."
Gu Anxi looked at him in confusion. "What’s the matter?"
In the dim light of the car, Bo Xichen watched her quietly. After a long mont, he said in a hoarse voice, "I’m leaving tomorrow."
Gu Anxi’s eyes widened slightly. After a mont, she said slowly, "Oh... I see."
Although she was ntally prepared, they had just gotten their marriage certificate today, and he was leaving for South Africa the very next day. He really is a bit of a jerk, she thought. Lowering her head, she bit his arm a few tis to vent her frustration.
Bo Xichen laughed helplessly. "Are you a puppy?"
Gu Anxi looked at him earnestly. "If I were a puppy, you could take to South Africa."
After saying this, she climbed over and threw her arms around his neck. "Uncle Bo, I really wish I could go with you."
Partly because she was worried about him, and partly because she couldn’t bear to be separated from him.
Actually, she knew. He had probably undertaken many missions like this before, and for him, it wasn’t a big deal. But for her... it felt different now. Perhaps it was because they had gotten their certificate and she had taken his money.
She clung to him so brazenly, refusing to let go. Bo Xichen was utterly helpless and lowered his voice, "Anxi."
"Are you leaving tomorrow morning?" she asked softly, her head resting on his shoulder.
Bo Xichen looked down at her and said gently, "Yes."
The little imp tightened her hug, looking quite aggrieved, but said nothing.
Bo Xichen gently stroked her head and said in a low voice, "If things go quickly, I could be back in ten days."
Gu Anxi let out a small sound, her little hand gently tracing patterns on his back. After a mont, she asked softly, "And if it’s slow, how long will it take?"
Bo Xichen smiled slightly. "Why?"
"Uncle Bo, I’ll miss you," she said softly, then straightened up and looked at him with pleading eyes.
Fengxi wasn’t herself anymore. Even though she had resud working, Fengxi only recognized her as her master and wouldn’t rember that she was Bo Xichen’s little darling. She would be all alone.
Bo Xichen sighed, lowered his head, and kissed her. "I’ll miss you too."
"You won’t," she complained in a small voice. "You rarely even call when you’re away."
He laughed softly, pinching her cheek. "Then I’ll try to call you once a day, hmm?"
She humd in agreent, then leaned back on his shoulder. "Carry on your back."
Bo Xichen tapped her lightly. "Gu Anxi, you’re a married woman now. People will laugh if I carry you on my back."
Gu Anxi looked around. "There’s no one here!"
He was both exasperated and amused. Still, he carried her on his back to the Orchid Room. They walked for about ten minutes in silence, the quiet air thick with their reluctance to part...
「Early the next morning.」
Gu Anxi woke up and reached out, finding the pillow beside her already empty.
She bit her lower lip. Honestly, leaving so early in the morning.
She got up, activated Fengxi, then grabbed her toothbrush. Walking over to the mainfra while brushing, she mumbled, "Fengxi, good morning."
Fengxi’s chanical voice rang out, "Good morning, Second Master."
Gu Anxi rolled her eyes. "Why am I Second Master? What about Bo Xichen?"
After so calculations, Fengxi provided an answer: "Professor Bo is the Primary Master."
Gu Anxi sighed. "Alright, your intelligence isn’t even one percent of what it used to be; you’re beyond saving. But that might be a good thing. Being a bit dumber ans you’re less likely to do foolish things."
She returned to the bathroom to finish brushing her teeth. Fengxi was still there, calculating answers, not very intelligently at all...
Gu Anxi ignored her, changed her clothes, and headed out. Fengxi chanically called out from behind, "Goodbye, Second Master."
To stop this AI from being so dim-witted, she had to input mories as soon as possible. But this couldn’t be rushed. If Fengxi couldn’t digest them properly, who knew what would happen? They could only test it step by step.
Before getting into the car, Gu Anxi dialed Feng Mian’s number again. "Your little wife is acting really silly right now."
Feng Mian sounded weary. "We can only take it slow."
He and Fengxi were once partners, comrades-in-arms. Now she’s so... dim-witted...
Feng Mian activated his watch and said in a low voice, "Fengxi."
The robotic voice of Fengxi rang out, "Lawyer Feng, what tasks do you need executed?"
She really didn’t rember him anymore!
Feng Mian’s voice grew sowhat hoarse. "Nothing."
Fengxi said, "Then I will go offline."
Feng Mian wanted to say more, but the AI on the other end had already coolly gone offline, not sparing him a glance.
He stared at his watch for a long ti, then couldn’t resist calling Gu Anxi. "Can’t you just input that I’m her boyfriend?"
Gu Anxi picked up Feng Mian’s call while driving. "Oh. I’m afraid she’ll stop working and just focus on dating. But Feng Mian, Fengxi is just a chip now, how can she date you?"
That’s pretty ssed up of him.
On the other end, Feng Mian felt a wave of disappointnt and looked at his watch again.
Fengxi used to be so talkative. Now, getting an extra word out of her was impossible. The current Fengxi was more like a simple AI, not the partner she once was. She no longer teased him by calling him the ’prematurely aging Lawyer Feng’. If she doesn’t return to her old self soon, he really will start aging prematurely...
