Song Jia gazed at Zhou Yunchen.
Zhou Yunchen suddenly stopped in his tracks and ruffled her hair. "Anxi considers her buddy."
He sighed again. "The kind that doesn’t distinguish between genders, understand?"
Song Jia didn’t quite understand.
Yun Chen chuckled. "Let’s put it this way: when it ca to her and Bo Xichen, it was a case of mutual fascination; they hit it off right away."
You have to rember, given Anxi’s looks, the line of people who liked or had a crush on her was enormous, but she never paid them any mind. Bo Xichen was different, though. He seed to capture her attention the mont he appeared.
The two of them were mutually attracted.
So, there was hardly any process; they just got together.
After he finished speaking, Song Jia stared at him for a long ti before asking, "Did you... did you used to like Gu Anxi?"
Eh!
How was he, as her older brother, supposed to answer that?
Yun Chen smiled faintly, his voice a little hoarse. "That’s all in the past now."
His words were tantamount to an admission. Song Jia found it hard to accept. His palm was still on her hair; what had felt warm now felt strange, as if sothing belonging to her had been half snatched away. It was unsettling. Even though she knew she shouldn’t feel this way, knowing the Gu family had adopted him, she still felt a sense of discomfort.
Yun Chen retracted his hand, his gaze shifting ahead. "Congwen, why aren’t you asleep yet?"
Song Jia was startled for a mont, then followed his gaze. Sure enough, Shen Congwen was standing there. Rather than a sister-in-law, she looked more like a very handso young woman.
She was very tall; at 175cm, her slender build made her seem even more statuesque. She wore a black n’s shirt that was a bit large on her—it was probably Zhou Yunchen’s—over a pair of shorts. If she’d been holding a cigarette, it wouldn’t have looked out of place at all.
Song Jia looked sowhat dazed. In so ways, Shen Congwen’s aura resembled Bo Qing’s.
Song Jia stared for a good while before finally calling out, "Sister-in-law."
Yun Chen noticed sothing odd in his sister’s gaze and warned her, "Your sister-in-law is a woman."
"I know." Song Jia suddenly grinned at him. "Sister-in-law is really beautiful."
She slowly walked towards Shen Congwen. Yun Chen tried to stop her, but Shen Congwen just smiled faintly and said casually, "Let’s go inside for a glass of water. It’s quite chilly out here."
With that, she turned and walked towards the living room, her movents exceptionally graceful—elegant and unhurried.
Song Jia watched her, srized, and obediently trailed behind.
Bringing up the rear, Yun Chen reached up to rub his forehead and let out a long sigh.
What a world this is.
He instantly recognized the look in Song Jia’s eyes as she gazed at Congwen. Congwen was indeed good-looking, but it was more of a handso beauty. Even now, many young girls at An Pu were infatuated with her, sending love letters, bento boxes, and everything imaginable; they were just short of chasing her all the way to her ho.
What a world.
Was he too coarse?
Now he understood why Princess Gu, despite all her suitors back then, had only had eyes for Congwen.
Even his own sister couldn’t resist her charm.
Once in the living room, Shen Congwen gestured for Song Jia to sit, then poured her a glass of cool boiled water. Placing it in front of her, she said, "Have so water."
Song Jia stared at her as she obediently drank the water.
Yun Chen felt a pang of jealousy; his sister listened to Congwen more readily than to him.
So, he leaned against a nearby surface and said, "I want so too."
Shen Congwen replied softly, "I’m pregnant."
Yun Chen imdiately went to get water for himself. He made sure to give his wife a kiss before heading to the kitchen.
However, when he returned, he found Song Jia sprawled on the sofa, sleeping in a rather unladylike posture.
He sipped his water and asked his wife, "Your doing?"
Shen Congwen stretched and yawned. "Anxi said she might co over, so I prepared so sleeping pills in advance. It was absolutely necessary, so don’t feel bad for her. Otherwise, given her state today, we’d have been up all night. I’m pregnant; I can’t handle that kind of disturbance."
Yun Chen let out a long breath. "You’re really sothing. But the main reason it worked is that she’s completely smitten; otherwise, you wouldn’t have pulled it off so easily."
Sigh, as her brother, he really couldn’t compete with his wife’s charisma.
Shen Congwen stretched again as she headed upstairs. "I’m going to bed. You carry her up to the guest room."
Yun Chen called out to her, "Hey, can you help her change?"
Shen Congwen, halfway up the stairs, blinked at him. "Maybe not. Otherwise, your dear sister might beco even more infatuated with . I can’t bear that responsibility."
Yun Chen thought for a mont. She has a point.
In the end, he carried her upstairs. He didn’t bother with her clothes, figuring it would be fine for one night.
He had intended to leave after tucking her in, but looking at that familiar face made him sentintal. Almost twenty years have passed. She’s grown up so much. Very beautiful, but it seems she doesn’t listen much. When she was little, Duoduo was so obedient, always calling ’Brother,’ always tagging along after him. Not particularly pretty then, but so well-behaved.
