King Jingyao dusted off so ash and looked at her. "You have so connections with Dark, and there’s also Bo Qing between you and Song Jia. You should go and investigate the situation."
Even though Song Jia might not know who her master was, there would always be so clues.
Zhou Yunchen was not suitable for this task; only this little rascal was.
When Gu Anxi heard this, she exclaid, "You called here so early in the morning, I thought it was for sothing good, but it turns out to be more hard labor for . You’re too ruthless!"
Wang Jingchuan suppressed a laugh. Only Little Gu would dare to speak like this!
King Jingyao glared at her fiercely. "I knew you, this little ungrateful wolf, wouldn’t work for free."
After saying that, he wrote out a check for her.
The little rascal took it with a smile. As he placed it in her palm, he sighed softly, "Anxi."
She hmm’d. "Why are you suddenly calling that? I’m not used to it."
King Jingyao was both amused and exasperated. He got up and sat with her on the sofa. After a while, he said, "I know you love to play and don’t put your heart into anything. If you find sothing interesting, you’ll play with it for a bit. If not, you’ll drop it and move on to the next new thing."
The little imp imdiately stomped her foot. "Did Little Uncle tell you that?"
King Jingyao just smiled. "Even if he didn’t, I can see it. Look at what you’ve done in the past year or two: painting, design, robotics, movies, perfu... You dabble in everything but refuse to specialize in any one thing."
Wang Jingchuan chid in, "Yes, yes, that’s right. If she just put in a little more effort, she’d be at the top of her field."
Gu Anxi looked at the two of them, then sneered, "You think I don’t know you’re digging a pit for to fall into? You just told Little Uncle to persuade , and he probably wasn’t willing, so now you two are playing good cop, bad cop to try and trick . Do you think I’m stupid?"
"What do you an, trick you? Don’t say such unpleasant things." King Jingyao chuckled, his tone affectionate. "Tell , your old brother here, do I not usually dote on you? Whenever there’s sothing good, aren’t you the first person I think of? You can practically swagger sideways through Beicheng now, and it wouldn’t be an exaggeration."
Especially since he had promoted Zhou Yunchen; that was clearly a case of loving her and extending it to those close to her.
She couldn’t possibly not know, yet she’s still playing dumb after benefiting.
The little imp was a sharp one too. Knowing she couldn’t get out of this, she said reluctantly, "I wasn’t trying to avoid it. I was planning to go to Jiang City anyway."
King Jingyao pressed on, "What I an is, can we stop relying on foreign laboratories in the future and also pull far ahead of them?"
Gu Anxi stared at him. "Isn’t it enough that Little Uncle is working himself to the bone for you? Now you want too?"
Little Uncle’s lab already has many patents and is more advanced than those abroad. This old fellow is still not satisfied!
King Jingyao coughed lightly. "After all, Xichen’s energy is limited, and when it cos to electronics and machinery, no one is more suitable than you."
Wang Jingchuan chid in at the right mont, "Robotic therapy is the coming trend. Dostically, at present... Mr. Wang has the highest hopes for you."
Gu Anxi sneered. So, it seems Jiang Chaoge did have sothing up her sleeve. This must be it.
Wang Jingchuan slapped his thigh. "You are truly brilliant!"
Gu Anxi squinted at him.
The Secretary-General then said gently and ticulously, "You may not know this, but Mr. Wang was in a very difficult position last night; he almost had to give in. Think about it, Mr. Wang is such an upright man. If he had to sacrifice himself for the greater good, it would be a terrible injustice. He cares for you so much; aren’t you even a little bit moved?"
The little imp sneered inwardly but kept a smile on her face. "Jiang Chaoge is quite good-looking. How could that be a sacrifice? If a small sacrifice can secure such a big project, I’d say it’s well worth it."
King Jingyao imdiately stood up. "Jingchuan, don’t say any more to her. She has a heart of stone."
He walked to his desk, slamd his hand down, and gripped the corner. "Is there any place in her heart for this old brother of hers? It was all for nothing that I even wrote my will, specifying she’d get fifty percent... Look at her! Does she even have a conscience?!"
Fifty percent?
The little imp swallowed hard and asked, feigning composure, "What about the other fifty percent?"
King Jingyao turned his head and sneered, "Aren’t you the one who doesn’t care about money? If I don’t start a family, that fifty percent would also be yours. But you don’t seem to care. Fine, I guess I misjudged you."
"No misjudgnt, no misjudgnt at all!" The little imp imdiately went over, refilled his teacup, and presented it to him with a beaming smile. "Talking about money is so impersonal. It’s just a small thing, look how it’s made your hair turn white, Old Brother. You’re worried sick all day about your reputation and innocence being compromised. Tell , how could I stand by and do nothing? I absolutely must share your burdens and ensure your golden years are comfortable and carefree."
While speaking, she pressed King Jingyao down into his chair and diligently massaged his back. "These little things, you don’t need to worry about them anymore. Leave them to ; I’ll handle them all perfectly for you."
Wang Jingchuan laughed and chid in with flattery, "Mr. Wang is truly fortunate. I only wish I had such a sister."
King Jingyao said, half annoyed and half amused, "Jingchuan, you should be glad you don’t have such a greedy little sister."
The Secretary-General chuckled.
At this mont, King Jingyao’s voice grew serious. "We must handle this matter impeccably. Outsiders always say we’re not up to par. We have to show them that we are."
He paused, then continued, "That laboratory rely wants to use our funding and facilities. They’re keeping their core robotic technology secret. So, while we can use each other, we absolutely must be faster than them."
The little imp understood. "We need to be fast. Otherwise, Old Brother’s pristine reputation will be at stake."
"You naughty girl." King Jingyao tapped her lightly, then sighed. "I only have a few more years here at most, and I can’t leave a ss for Yunchen to deal with. He’s still young; he’ll need capable assistants."
Saying this, he glanced at Gu Anxi. "Don’t just think about playing all the ti. Try to lend a hand when needed."
Gu Anxi responded lazily, then sat on the desk in front of him, showing no regard for propriety.
King Jingyao didn’t reprimand her but rely said, "If I could find anyone else, I would gladly let you have more fun."
