Listening to Demigod Von, I couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. Noticing it, he asked with mild amusent, "What’s so funny?"

Demigod Von had been more than impressed watching take down nearly four dozen demigods—each ard with ti-related cards or runes—with effortless ease as a card master. Yet he wasn’t afraid of . With his mastery of the space rule, he had seen through my limitless strain trick and was confident he could overco it, no matter how innovatively I wielded it.

"I was just wondering," I said evenly, "whether you guys can bear the consequences of signing this World Decree." Then, shaking my head, I continued, "Now that it’s in my hands, you can forget about that. Go and inform your Masters that I love their gifts—and I wouldn’t mind more of them. Tell them to send as many as they like. I’ll receive every single one."

"Hahaha, young man. Now I know what they ant when they said I would see true arrogance when I t you.’ They were right, you lived up to your reputation," Demigod Ron nodded. "But, young man, you need to know your limits. We are not soone you want to cross paths with, let alone the masters. Know what’s good for you and hand over the World Degree if you don’t plan to sign it."

"Uncle Von, why do I get the feeling that you’re daring him to sign the World Decree?" Jill snapped, clearly sensing her uncle’s rudeness toward her lover. She didn’t care who was right or wrong. She cared about both of us—though, at this mont, she cared more about than about her uncle.

"Girl, stay out of this. Hasn’t he already proven that he can take care of himself?" Demigod Von said, warning Jill not to be overly protective of her boyfriend and risk bruising his ego. If her boyfriend truly loved her, he might understand—but over ti, no one could say how such things might fester or twist into sothing ugly between them. As the saying went, prevention was better than a cure.

"Uncle, if you weren’t related to , he would have taught you a lesson by now. Stop trying to bully him through ," Jill said, fully aware that I was holding back because of her. If it had been anyone else, I would already be harvesting their divinity and grimoire.

This man was fortunate to be Jill’s uncle, and he wasn’t shy about using that fact to his advantage against . It wasn’t that he believed he would lose to ; rather, he preferred to resolve this matter peacefully if possible. I believed it was the reason he was the one who ca here among his colleagues hiding in the clouds afar.

"Girl, it’s my right as the bride’s uncle, so stop ddling. This is between and my son-in-law," Demigod Ron said shalessly.

Jill was left flabbergasted and imdiately scolded him, "Uncle, stop embarrassing . We haven’t thought that far ahead."

"You’re still talking?" Demigod Rod said sternly, though a teasing note lingered beneath his tone. "Besides, what use are we elders if not to ask the difficult questions—no matter how awkward they may be?"

"Uncle, I’m begging you—please stop," Jill pleaded, nearly bringing her hands together in supplication.

The longer I watched the exchange between Demigod Von and Jill, the deeper my frown beca. The closer Jill stood to Demigod Von, the harder it was for to embarrass him—let alone kill him and harvest his divinity and grimoire. Unless he gave a compelling reason, I had no intention of doing anything that would cause Jill grief or jeopardize our relationship before it had even reached its first date. Von had been given a longer leash—but if he didn’t know when to stop while he was ahead, I wouldn’t mind tightening it.

Ignoring her pleas, Demigod Von turned his attention to and asked, "Boy, what are your plans for my niece?"

I couldn’t help but study him, sensing that his question carried more weight than it appeared. I attributed it to his concern over Jill’s physique and it choosing as her ideal mate. It seed that, despite his subtle tests, he still wasn’t entirely sure whether he was speaking to Jill herself—or to the instincts of her carnivorous womb. If I were in his position, I would have shared the sa concerns.

"Don’t worry. Her physique is dormant," I said flatly. "I prefer my dates to have brains."

My deadpan assurance only served to fluster Jill further. She slapped my back in embarrassnt and protested, "How can you say sothing like that with a straight face?"

Demigod Von’s gaze shifted back and forth between Jill and , still unable to determine whether it was truly Jill before him. Everything he knew about the Carnivorous Womb had co from Demigod Norley’s accounts alone. He carefully observed every subtle sign, searching for any indication that it was Jill’s physique acting rather than Jill herself. Yet, sensing each other’s scent lingering on us, he found it difficult to accept that his pure, innocent niece could be so forward. It had to be the Carnivorous Womb—or so he convinced himself.

"Uncle Von, please stop," Jill said softly, growing uncomfortable under his scrutiny. His gaze wasn’t vulgar, yet it carried a weight that made her feel as though she had disappointed him. In that mont, she wondered—if she couldn’t face her uncle like this, how would she ever face her father? Unconsciously, she stepped closer and hid behind , using as a shield to block the demigod’s probing stare.

Seeing his niece retreat behind , Demigod Von imdiately realized he had crossed a line and corrected himself. "You’re an adult now. You’re free to make your own decisions and choose your partner—"

Jill cut in comically, raising her voice in protest. "I’ve been an adult for the past few decades, Uncle!"
