Location: Myriad Realms, Card World, Southern Region, Blossom District, Mischief Encampnt, Matron’s Camp

While Lil’ Baem used the scent on a cushion to track Gideon Grim, I said, "100 miles south? That’s too far from here. Didn’t you say Gideon Grim is calling Devils for reinforcents? Did they arrive?"

Noticing the Field Marshal looked at in doubt, Sansa explained before she could ask , "He’s inviting Devil from their dark faction as guests, but in truth, he plans to use them as reinforcents against us."

"That’s also one of the reasons he gave for camping so far from the three of us. If you think that’s too much of a variable, I might have a way to make him move his camp closer to ours," Sansa said, building on her point earlier.

"The Supre Leader has already raised similar concerns to . He suspects Gideon plans to use his brainwashed forces in a chain of suicide attack while the others engage Sky Blossom City, killing both allies and hostiles, as long as it gets you to surrender. However, he can’t act on it without disrupting the status quo with the Emissary of Light. But I share a similar concern with him, and Gideon Grim will be forced to move his camp close enough to assure us and continue as planned."

Listening to Sansa, Field Marshal Lorn couldn’t help but look at her young lord, wondering what he had done in her absence to push their enemies into such desperate asures from the very start.

"The Devils he invited aren’t here yet, right?" I asked Sansa. When she nodded, I replied, "No need. This might be for the best." After a mont’s thought, I added, "Change of plans. Corey and I will head to Gideon Grim’s camp right now. You two stay here and continue as planned."

"Wyatt, you promised Gideon Grim was mine to deal with," Corey complained as soon as he heard the change of plans.

How could I not change it? Gideon Grim had chosen the perfect burial ground for himself by setting his camp nearly a hundred miles away from his allies.

"Stop whining. You’ll get your fair fight," I said. "Co on, let’s deal with this before it’s too late."

Corey and I left under the cover of the blood storm, trusting Lil’ Baem’s tracking skills. Sansa had already shared the coordinates of Gideon’s camp, but there was no better ti to test Baem’s abilities. Still, if things went according to my new plan, we might not need them this ti around.

It didn’t take long for Lil’ Baem to lead us to Gideon’s camp without a single mistake. With her unique sensory system, which could trace prey by scent across countless realms and dinsions, that much was expected.

What wasn’t expected was this: Gideon’s camp was shielded by a Desolate Dinsion barrier array, sothing he had procured through the Devil rchant Code. It was considered one of the finest isolation and anti-spy array formations the Dark Realm’s markets had to offer.

And yet, Lil’ Baem tracked him anyway. That alone proved sothing important. Even the best the Dark Realm had to offer couldn’t block her scent-tracing ability. It ant that, when I needed it, I could rely on Lil’ Baem’s sense of sll without hesitation.

"We should’ve asked Sansa to lend us that guy with the Empty Beast. Slipping into the camp would’ve been a lot easier with it," Corey said, recognizing the array covering Gideon’s camp at a glance. After all, it was one of the go-to formations for seclusion in the Dark Realm, whether for cultivating without being disturbed place, a small hideout, or a full war camp.

"We don’t need him. You’ve got ," I replied, letting my soul pupils open as I studied the barrier formation.

Up close, the Desolate Dinsion array wasn’t just a wall, it was a layered construct. Outer isolation, inner distortion, and a reactive core that could alert the caster the mont sothing foreign tried to slip through. Gideon hadn’t just set up camp, he’d buried it in precautions.

I traced the flow of energy through the formation, checking for hidden triggers, linked alarms, and any secondary traps he might’ve tucked beneath the main array. If we rushed in blind, we wouldn’t just be blocked, we’d announce ourselves.

"Give a second," I muttered, mapping its structure in my head under the cover of the blood storm.

My plan wasn’t to slip into the Desolate Dinsion array unnoticed. That would’ve been the obvious move, and Gideon would’ve prepared for it. Instead, I intended to take the array apart without breaking it and modify it.

If I could modify it, twist its functions just enough, I could turn it into a cage. Gideon Grim wouldn’t be able to leave, and more importantly, he wouldn’t be able to send a signal to the Supre Leader or the Emissary of Light.

At the sa ti, I had to ensure the safety of his brainwashed card apprentice army, so that in his desperation Gideon Grim would take them down with him. The last thing I wanted was a blood of innocent souls on my hands.

I was prepping for a clean, silent, and controlled takeover. And by the ti Gideon realized what had changed, it would already be too late. He would be like a bird trapped in its cage.

To take control of the array, I didn’t try to break in. I rewrote its soul pathways.

From outside, I added my pseudo-calamity soul gem into the formation, not as an intrusion, but as an additional power source and control node. The array accepted it naturally, treating it like a reinforcent rather than a threat.

That was the first step.

Before Gideon Grim could even sense the change, I moved to the second. I severed the array’s link to its original core, clean and precise, like cutting a thread without shaking the web.

The mont that connection broke, my pseudo-calamity soul gem slid into place as the primary source of power and control. From Gideon’s perspective, nothing had changed when in reality, the array was no longer his but mine.
