My patience was wearing thin as the Supre Leader continued to forcefully use the Eye of Prosperity on the primordial Calamity Daughter Gem—disguised as a black pill—burning through his life force instead of making a decision.
I had assud I could turn his own crutch against him. Let the Eye of Prosperity guide him, corner him, and ultimately convince him to accept becoming a Calamity Daughter Gem, joining as a bloodkin—with minimal effort on my part.
Considering the Eye’s ability and the Supre Leader’s cowardly but greedy nature, I just had to throw the idea out there and the Eye would persuade the Supre Leader for . I would simply reap the result. What I hadn’t accounted for was the depth of his dependence on the Eye of Prosperity itself.
For a brief mont, I was surprised that he was willing to part with his life, but not the Eye of Prosperity. Never that. As soon as it ca up, he had lost sight of the stakes. The mont he realized he couldn’t keep the Eye—let alone recreate the Tao Eye—everything else beca secondary. Even his own survival. It was becoming clear that he couldn’t move past the fact that he would have to give up the Tao Eyes.
Honestly, watching Lucine, Petra, and now the Supre Leader cling to their abilities—to the point they could barely function without them—was a wake-up call. I wasn’t any different.
I relied on my Primordial Soul Pupils just as much, even if I didn’t like admitting it. Sure, I had contingencies in place for the day I might lose access to them—but preparing for that felt less like strategy and more like bracing for amputation. Necessary, but never sothing you truly accept.
However, there was a difference between them and . My Primordial Soul Pupils weren’t just tools I used—they were a part of , bound to my Primordial Calamity Soul Gem. They weren’t sothing that could be taken away or discarded. If anyone wanted to strip of them, they’d have to kill first. Still, there was a possibility, if I couldn’t see it I was just as shortsight as them.
Also, just because it could break its wings one day, birds don’t stop flying.
I soon woke up from my thoughts, when I saw tears rolling down the supre leader’s eyes. I stared at him in his disbelief. I have seen being driven into corners make people do many crazy things but to weep, the Supre Leader was the first. I guess being able to calculate the worth of every action, reaction, and beings or object wasn’t great as it was cut out to be. I wonder what the Eye of Prosperity showed him this ti to make him cry.
Then, without any warning, to my shock, the Supre Leader swallowed the black pill giving up all worldly desires but one to severe . I was shocked to hear his intent as the primordial calamity soul gem fused with him with zero resistance from him but with complete cooperation.

"Holy shit—what the fuck is going on?" I cursed, perplexed by the turn of events. I thought I might have to settle for the Supre Leader being a calamity daughter gem. But before I could react, the weeping Supre Leader fused with the Primordial Calamity Daughter Gem—no hesitation, no warning—and joined the ranks of my bloodkin.
"Master," Karl knelt before , his head bowed in submission.
The tears were gone. In their place was a quiet, unsettling happiness—as if he had finally arrived where he was always ant to be. My bloodkins were usually glad to et for the first ti, eager even, but this... this felt different. Off. It set sothing cold crawling up my spine.
I couldn’t help but wonder, worry even, what Karl had seen through the Eye of Prosperity. Whatever it was, it hadn’t just reduced him to tears—it had stripped away every last trace of hesitation, leaving behind nothing but absolute, unquestioning acceptance that made him worthy of inheriting my cursed bloodline and becoming a bloodkin.
"Master, please be at ease. I chose to serve you because only you can bring about the world my father promised my people. Though I am the last of them, I still wish to do my part—to help create a promised land where everyone has the right to live and be happy, regardless of their strength, realm, birth, wealth, status, or talent—"
"You... you’re a viltronian!" I blurted out, shocked, already sifting through his mories before he could finish explaining. I could never have guessed that Karl was a viltronian.
The reason he called himself the last of his people—even after learning there were other Viltronians, like the pureblood Jaya, hybrids like and my Calamity Daughter Gems, and even many of my card boutique clients when he beca my Bloodkin—was because he belonged to a different branch altogether.
His faction of Viltronians had long ago abandoned their invincible physique, choosing to live with the card apprentices of this world as one of them. In doing so, they severed themselves from the rest of their violent kind, and were no longer recognized as true viltronian.
