A corpse dragon soared through the sky, its massive but withered, almost skeletal wings tearing through the storm winds as it rushed into a thick cluster of dark clouds. Its dried, shriveled scales clung tightly to its gaunt fra, as though sothing had drained every drop of blood, flesh, and life from its body.

Four Card Demigods chased after it without hesitation, streaking across the sky like cots as their diamond grimoires released dazzling trails of energy behind them. The mont they plunged into the clouds, thunder rumbled violently overhead, swallowing all sound for a brief second.

Then the clouds exploded apart.

The dragon’s enormous jaw burst out from within the storm, carrying one of the demigods between its teeth. Blood rained through the air in long crimson streaks. The creature’s jagged fangs had nearly torn the man in half at the waist, armor and flesh crushed together like brittle glass under pressure.

Even in death, the demigod’s face remained frozen in shock. His eyes were still wide open, pupils trembling faintly as if his mind had failed to comprehend what had happened even in his final mont. One of his hands still clutched a glowing diamond grimoire, though the light rapidly dimd. The dragon swallowed the demigod corpse whole, storing it, its divinity, and diamond grimoire in its stomach.

On the other side of the battlefield, the corpse dragon carrying the Deadman’s Coffin containing Young Master Cervos was fighting three Card Demigods headon.

The sky constantly trembled from their clash. Blinding beams of energy, flaming spears, and massive card constructs tore through the clouds as both sides unleashed their strongest attacks without holding back. Every collision distorted the air and sent violent shockwaves rippling across the battlefield.

The three Card Demigods fought cautiously, constantly changing positions to avoid getting cornered by the corpse dragon’s overwhelming size and monstrous physical strength. At the sa ti, the corpse dragon twisted through the sky like a giant undead serpent, narrowly evading fatal attacks while retaliating with its claws, tail, and torrents of deathly flas.

However, the mont they noticed the other corpse dragon approaching from the distance, their expressions changed.

That dragon was returning after claiming the life of one of their allies, and behind it followed the three other Card Demigods locked in pursuit. The sudden appearance of reinforcents caused the three demigods fighting Cervos’s corpse dragon to lose focus for a split second.

And for beings at their level, a single mont of distraction was enough.

The corpse dragon carrying the Deadman’s Coffin suddenly opened its enormous jaws and released a deafening roar that shook the heavens. Dark energy spread across the clouds like a plague as dozens of summoning formations appeared in the sky.

From them erged a horde of SS-rank corpse dragons.

Their withered bodies crashed through the clouds one after another, releasing guttural roars as deathly aura flooded the battlefield. Without the slightest fear for their own destruction, the corpse dragons charged directly at the three Card Demigods with their massive jaws wide open, like starving beasts finally unleashed upon prey.

Looking at the swarm of SS-rank corpse dragons charging at them recklessly, the three Card Demigods showed no fear. To beings at their level, the difference between an SS-rank and an SSS-rank existence was unimaginably vast, no different from the chasm separating a Card Emperor from a Card Demigod.

The demigods tore through the incoming corpse dragons with their bare hands. One ripped apart a dragon’s jaw before crushing its skull with a single punch, while another grabbed a corpse dragon by the neck and split its entire body in half mid-flight. Rotten blood and shattered bones rained across the sky as the SS-rank creatures were slaughtered like insects rushing toward a wildfire.

Their attacks that could level cities landed on the demigods’ bodies with little effect, barely managing to slow them down. Even the dragons’ corrosive death flas were torn apart by the overwhelming aura surrounding the Card Demigods.

anwhile, the other SSS-rank corpse dragon that had killed one of their allies rapidly approached the battlefield while being pursued by three more demigods. However, instead of joining the attack from above as expected, the corpse dragon suddenly folded its wings and dived downward.

Its massive skeletal body shot beneath the three fighting demigods at terrifying speed, cutting through the storm clouds like a black arrow. The sudden movent caused several of the demigods to narrow their eyes instinctively, realizing too late that the creature’s target was not them.

The other three Card Demigods, hot on its trail, continued the pursuit with grim expressions. In their minds, six demigods against two corpse dragons gave them far better odds than splitting into two groups of three against one. However, the corpse puppeteer controlling the dragons seed far cleverer than they had expected and had already seen through their intentions.

As the corpse dragon being chased shot beneath the trio of demigods fighting the Deadman’s Coffin corpse dragon, the demigods pursuing it suddenly found themselves showered by mutilated remains of the SS-rank corpse dragons that had been torn apart monts earlier. Chunks of flesh, broken ribs, shredded wings, and severed heads rained down from the sky like a downpour.

The three demigods barely paid attention to it at first. To them, they were nothing more than lifeless scraps falling from the battle above.

But suddenly, the "corpses" moved.

A severed dragon head, its eyes long dead and cloudy white, abruptly opened its enormous jaws and clamped down onto an unsuspecting demigod rushing forward at full speed. The sharp fangs locked around his shoulder and arm, montarily halting his movent.

At the sa ti, the scattered corpse pieces surrounding the trio began to pulse with violent dark energy.

The demigods’ expressions changed as their intent sense sensed the oddity. But before they could react the mutilated remains surrounding them exploded all at once.

BOOM!

A deafening blast shook the heavens as black flas and rotten blood erupted across the sky. The explosion spread like a tidal wave, swallowing the three demigods in the middle of the storm of flesh and shattered bones.
