I ca up with sothing just now: if the mother Yuzhen portrays actually blas the daughter’s existence for ruining her happiness later in life, there’s a pathological hatred and disgust towards her daughter. Wouldn’t that set a deeper layer of conflict in the script?"
Jiang Yuzhen’s brow instantly furrows.
"Director, it’s not logical," she says imdiately. "No mother would hate her child just because her existence ruined my happiness later in life? Because of her, I can’t remarry? It’s too strange."
"Let’s assu such a scenario. Imagine your husband died, and then you t another person you wanted to be with. You loved this person; he helped you recover from the pain of losing your father and found happiness again. But this person refused to stay with you because of Chen Yin’s presence. He saw her as a burden, and forced you to choose between him or a breakup. As a mother, you couldn’t possibly abandon your child, so you naturally chose the painful breakup.
