Zhou Yun understood what Zhou Lan was saying.

"I understand."

She pondered for a mont and said earnestly, "Our current market can’t be described as chaotic; it’s just that the market itself is vast, with many people involved. There are many famous people and people with influential voices, and the production processes of different projects can vary greatly. Plus, with various financial forces going in and out, compared to the foreign film markets, ours is more complex. At least, a large batch of people in our market once ca from a planned economy, and many of their habits and ideas are vastly different from today. The goals of film and television works have fundantally changed—from completing a task in the past to now aiming for profit. It’s not just about making profits, but also having so social value, aning, and ideally being able to promote China’s culture. There are so many ideas; everyone has their own thoughts."

"But you can also see that although we don’t know if a show can beco a hit, generally, the shows that beco imnsely popular have points of attention and appeal that are very pure and hit the mainstream emotional sensitivity of the mont."

"What kind of shows easily explode now? Slice-of-life dramas are one type, right? Then, there are suspense dramas as well. Additionally, every year, there’s a fantasy series that consistently becos a big hit," Zhou Yun said. "Actually, no matter how the subjects change, the key is whether this story can stir people’s emotional points. For example, my longing for love, my yearning for a fantasy world, or stories and emotions from real life—a topic that everyone is focusing on, etc."

Zhou Yun said, "Why do many people say that when you don’t know how to decide, you should choose the script that moves you the most? Because in a way, that story which can move should also be capable of moving others, right? Why did I want to perform in ’Behind the Scenes’ at that ti? So many people said this project was risky, with scripts written and fild on the fly, and it was likely to collapse. But Xue Qin’s attitude and emotions affected . She made believe in her passion for this story. anwhile, the synopsis she shared resonated with —a person eager for success repeatedly faced setbacks and challenges, finally finding inner peace, which was also an emotional release for at that ti. I thought this movie’s emotional point could resonate with many young people since we all encounter various setbacks in the pursuit of success. Perhaps not everyone will succeed, and many might not, but eventually, we must find our inner peace. Only then can we continue our lives. Sister Lan, you’re good at evaluating a project’s success rate from the production team and platform, but on the other hand, I think you should also trust not only in but also in Yuk Chu, Wang Jing, Lu Zhongting, and Huang Zicheng. As actors, their judgnt on a role—if a role can touch them, they can genuinely invest in it and thus move the audience. That’s my experience."

Zhou Lan sighed and said, "If only they could balance reason and emotion as well as you do. They’ve often considered whether, after performing, the audience will like the character or if they will be criticized—not everyone evaluates scripts with your keen insight."

Zhou Yun said, "I know so actors have good acting skills but just don’t know how to evaluate scripts. However, I think you can ask them one question: the character they’re playing, the story they’re going through in this play—aside from the role and their life experiences—is it an experience they want to have?"

Zhou Lan laughed and shook her head, saying, "There’s really no way about it. People with insight understand after one or two sentences; those without insight, even if I ask them, they don’t understand why I’m asking."

Zhou Yun could only sigh.

She actually understood what Zhou Lan ant by saying this.

So actors aren’t that sensitive to scripts.

Tastes in aesthetics are inherently varied; Zhou Yun has read scripts she found unappealing, yet many actors found them good.

Zhou Yun doesn’t always manage to garner audience resonance with every choice she makes; she is ntally prepared for this.

Now, Zhou Yun’s position in the market has reached an unattainable peak.

At the peak, naturally, there is brilliance everywhere.
