Seeing Zhong Yi’s expression grow increasingly odd, Lin Zhuo spoke in a serious tone.
"Xiaoyi, you probably don’t understand yet. The more benefits your identity as a Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker brings you, the greater the risks."
"Even with four Instant Jades to protect you, it’s best to avoid trouble whenever possible."
"After all, briefly teleporting an Order Beast over with an Instant Jade is fundantally different from us arriving in person."
As Lin Zhuo spoke, she couldn’t help but think of the deceased Celestial Destiny Seeker in Ximu City that Star Night had ntioned on the phone.
Celestial Destiny Seekers were indeed the favored children of destiny, born of the Rules, but growing strong was not necessarily any easier for them than for an ordinary Guardian Beast Master.
For instance, of the four Celestial Destiny Seekers in Lin Zhuo’s generation, only she and Wen Tao were still alive.
The situation for Celestial Destiny Seekers in other cities was much the sa. They either died in Secret Realms or were targeted by factions of the Bizarre.
If she hadn’t been genuinely worried about Zhong Yi’s safety, she wouldn’t have given him all four Instant Jades at once.
Lin Zhuo chose not to say anything that would make Zhong Yi anxious. After all, when true danger ca, there would be no hiding from it.
With these four Instant Jades as a safety net, the likelihood of danger was very low.
Just as Lin Zhuo hadn’t wanted Zhong Yi to lose his confidence over failing to heal the Crown of the Sun, she also didn’t want him to beco overly cautious during his developnt and lose his decisiveness and courage.
Lin Zhuo then changed the subject.
"Having two Celestial Destiny Seeker identities allows you to earn a double share of Celestial Destiny Points, and these Potential Points can be exchanged for many great things."
"Things like High Level Potions concocted by Creators, Shelters, and special Secret Realm Creatures can all be redeed with Celestial Destiny Points."
"Occasionally, a Heart of the Secret Realm will even appear among the treasures you can redeem with Celestial Destiny Points."
"Only Star Night could have co up with such a way for you to earn extra Potential Points."
Upon hearing this, Zhong Yi’s odd expression vanished, replaced by a flicker of surprise in his eyes.
’Celestial Destiny Points can be used to redeem a treasure like a Heart of the Secret Realm!’
That alone was enough to prove the value of Potential Points.
"So, Sister Zhuo, you’re saying I shouldn’t interact with the outside world as a Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker, but should instead present myself as an S-rank Potential Combat-type Celestial Destiny Seeker."
"And Hong Ji would be my Order Beast, is that right?"
Seeing that Zhong Yi had understood her after just one explanation, Lin Zhuo smiled with gratification.
"That’s right. Under your other Celestial Destiny Seeker identity, that Human-shaped Guardian Beast of yours is your Order Beast."
"However, it’s up to you to decide which identity to use when interacting with the world."
"Originally, I gave you an Illusion-tailed Fox, intending for it to help you create a disguise."
"Once your potential rating is reported to Kyoto and word of your identity as a Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker spreads, people will inevitably co looking for your help."
"The Illusion-tailed Fox’s ability to create a disguise can be seen through by High Tier, Perception-type Guardian Beasts. Frost Day specifically called and told to bring you this mask."
"From now on, when you wear this mask, it will completely obscure your aura, and the field around it will conceal your physical form and temperant."
"Once you put on the mask, as long as no one rips it off you on the spot, nobody will know who you are."
"Back when Wen Tao asked Frost Day for this mask—which was ground from the Dragon Crystal of an Illusory Scale Crystal Dragon—Frost Day couldn’t even bear to part with it for him."
The mask Lin Zhuo handed him was a translucent, crystalline half-mask. Its surface was uneven, giving it a texture like scale armor.
Taking the mask, Zhong Yi found that it was utterly weightless.
The mask’s appearance was rather conventional, and Zhong Yi couldn’t help but sigh in relief.
Zhong Yi had been genuinely afraid that Frost Day might have carved so phrase like "Yeah? So what?"—the sa kind of text engraved on the Instant Jades—onto the mask.
If that had been the case, Zhong Yi really would have been too embarrassed to strap the mask to his face.
The mask’s main function wasn’t physical concealnt, but rather to use a force field to blur a person’s entire outward presence.
When he put the mask on, not only would others see a stranger, but even when Zhong Yi looked at himself in a mirror, the person staring back was completely unrecognizable. His very presence even felt diminished.
After giving Zhong Yi everything she’d brought, Lin Zhuo was about to leave when he called out to her.
"Sister Zhuo, I wanted to ask—can Celestial Destiny Points be exchanged for the carcasses of Deceit Beasts?"
In the Horned Demon Secret Realm, Zhong Yi had communicated with Hong Ji and learned that the flesh of Deceit Beasts was far more beneficial for her growth than that of ordinary creatures.
Furthermore, after Hong Ji digested one of the Bizarre, she could refine its Abilities into her own weapons and thods of attack.
Just like the Blood Thread Puppet that Hong Ji kept hanging from her waist!
Strengthening a Guardian Beast was simple enough, but specifically finding the Bizarre to use as fodder for Hong Ji was no easy task.
Rather than painstakingly searching on his own, Zhong Yi felt that using his Celestial Destiny Seeker status to acquire the Bizarre was undoubtedly the better option.
Hearing Zhong Yi ask for Deceit Beast carcasses, Lin Zhuo asked in confusion.
"Xiaoyi, what use do you have for Deceit Beast carcasses?"
"You can indeed redeem the carcasses of dead Deceit Beasts with Celestial Destiny Points, but those points are precious. I would still advise you to use them on sothing truly valuable."
"If you want Deceit Beast carcasses, I can get them for you."
"Don’t forget what I do. I’m the Director of the Ghost Suppression Bureau. Getting my hands on Deceit Beast carcasses is a trivial matter for ."
"Wen Tao is in the Lower City District right now, hunting the Bizarre and preparing to clear out as many of them as possible."
Zhong Yi didn’t stand on ceremony with Lin Zhuo. After all, he would have to publicly declare Hong Ji as his Order Beast in the future.
After a mont of deliberation, Zhong Yi said to Lin Zhuo.
"Sister Zhuo, Hong Ji’s situation is a bit special. A few days ago, a Bizarre suddenly appeared in the shop. Luckily, it was heavily injured and happened to be devoured by Hong Ji."
"That’s when I discovered devouring the Bizarre was hugely beneficial to Hong Ji, so I figured if I could get so Deceit Beast carcasses, I could use them to improve her strength."
At present, if Hong Ji devoured more Bizarre carcasses, she would gain more thods of attack.
Any increase in her strength would be a great help for Zhong Yi’s upcoming explorations of Secret Realms.
Lin Zhuo wasn’t surprised that Hong Ji could devour one of the Bizarre. Instead, her mind imdiately went to a report from a few days prior: a Peak Extraordinary Level Bizarre had escaped a Ghost Suppression Bureau special operations team on South Cross Street.
At the ti, Lin Zhuo hadn’t paid the incident much mind, since the Bizarre hadn’t caused any further disturbances after its escape.
The Ghost Suppression Bureau had increased patrols on South Cross Street and the surrounding intersections, but they had found no trace of the Bizarre’s presence.
Zhong Yi’s shop was located right on South Cross Street. ’So that Bizarre actually made its way here,’ she thought.
