Wei Chang’an looked at Chen Chuan and took a deep breath to calm himself. Then, a smile spread across his face, and he nodded firmly at him. "You did well, junior!"

To be honest, he had wanted to go up and help, but he quickly realized he probably couldn’t interfere in a fight between those two. Rushing in rashly would likely have made him more of a hindrance than a help, so he had simply stayed put.

He then turned and ordered the people around him, "Quick, get the wounded to the cars! Give first aid to those who can be saved, then get them to the nearest dical station!"

He then called out to Cai Si, who had pushed his way to the front. "Fourth Brother, go secure Scarface. Don’t let him die. We still need his testimony."

Cai Si nodded and imdiately went to do as he was told.

Wei Chang’an then gave a few more orders. Under his direction, the n regained their sense of purpose and sprang into action. So of them had been unconvinced by Wei Chang’an before, but things were different now. They all listened obediently, for he had proven his ability, and the capture mission had been a success.

Besides, everyone knew that after this success, his status would be completely different.

After delegating all the tasks, Wei Chang’an pulled Chen Chuan aside, clapped him on the shoulder, and said with a sigh, "Junior, I really have to thank you this ti."

Chen Chuan said, "Brother Wei, I’m part of this assignnt too. This is what I should be doing."

"It’s more than that." Wei Chang’an shook his head. "Thank you for showing respect at the end." He said seriously, "Brother Wei owes you one."

’How could I not understand? When Chen Chuan walked up and called ’Brother Wei’ just now, he was clearly boosting my prestige in front of everyone. How could I not appreciate the gesture? I have to rember this!’

anwhile, Cai Si arrived at the back of the street and looked at the oil slick covering the ground. "Well, all that oil was a waste."

But he also knew the oil was mostly for show, to give them so peace of mind. The sll was so strong, Scarface would have definitely noticed it. He would have likely just smashed into one of the nearby shops to find a way out. With his strength, breaking through a wall wouldn’t have been difficult, and they wouldn’t have been able to stop him then.

The only thing that truly mattered was absolute martial power. He thought back to Chen Chuan’s final hamr swing. ’Now that’s the kind of power that settles things with a single blow.’

’But is Scarface still alive? It’s touch and go.’

He walked into the shop and leaned in to get a closer look at Scarface. Luckily, the man’s Life Force was tenacious. He was still breathing, and the bleeding from his body had sohow stopped on its own.

He imdiately called a few people over to restrain Scarface and carry him away. At the sa ti, he couldn’t help but remark, "Looks like Scarface will have to be called No-Face from now on."

Just then, a man ca over and asked, "Brother Si, who was that young man earlier? He went head-to-head with Scarface! That’s incredible. If I had soone like that under , would I have failed my last assignnt?"

Cai Si laughed. "Don’t even think about poaching him. That’s a junior Brother Wei went to great lengths to invite from Wuyi. He’s a man with natural talent, and he only ca this ti out of respect for Brother Wei."

"Natural talent, huh."

The man’s face was full of envy and awe. He lowered his voice and said, "Only soone like that could fight a guy with a military-grade Implant, right?"

Cai Si glanced at him and also softened his voice. "You saw it too?"

The man nodded. "With that kind of gear, who’d believe he doesn’t have soone backing him? And this guy was supplying Fang Dawei’s crew. Who knows what kind of trouble Fang Dawei’s people are cooking up."

Cai Si thought so too. "Let’s not worry about that for now. We’ll cross that bridge when we co to it." He extended a hand. "Old Shen, it was a pleasure working with you."

"Hey, don’t say that." Old Shen shook his hand. "We help each other out. We weren’t much help this ti. Who’s to say I won’t need you guys to back up next ti?"

Cai Si said, "You ca, and we won’t forget it. If you need our help next ti, just ask."

Old Shen smiled. "I’ll hold you to that."

In a corner, a group had also gathered around Mr. Qu. They were all people sent by his commission company.

"Mr. Wei sure got lucky this ti, finding a helper that strong."

"After this, Mr. Wei’s definitely going to be on the rise, isn’t he?"

"For sure. Who would’ve thought Mr. Wei was hiding an ace like this up his sleeve?"

But Mr. Qu just scoffed. "It’s not that simple," he sneered. "Catching Scarface was about finding a lead on Fang Dawei’s crew. But we took a lot of casualties, and the commotion was huge. Do you really think they can still find Fang Dawei’s crew now? Hmm?"

He glanced around and added nonchalantly, "If they can’t catch them, then this is all it amounts to."

The people beside him exchanged looks, and soone chid in, "Right, right. Mr. Qu is right."

After finishing his conversation with Wei Chang’an, Chen Chuan walked over to the injured Boxing Club mbers. He hadn’t thought much of it before, but he now recognized from their training uniforms that these boxers were from the Xiujiang Boxing Hall.

The Defensive Zone Xiujiang Boxing Club. He rembered the address on the flyer he’d received was right around here.

As he approached, he scanned the area and saw many Boxing Club fighters and support staff helping the wounded and moving supplies. When they saw him coming, they all looked at him with respect and admiration. A man who appeared to be in charge walked up to him and asked, "Hello, young man. Does Mr. Wei have any orders for us?"

Chen Chuan shook his head. "I just ca to take a look. I know Liang Tong and Shenghai from your club. I was wondering if they are here."

"Oh, them," the man said, realization dawning. He glanced behind him. "Only our top fighters ca today. Their skills aren’t quite there yet, so they’re at ho."

Just as he finished speaking, a voice ca from behind. "Junior, there you are."

Cai Si walked up, patting Chen Chuan’s shoulder affectionately before turning to the person in charge of the boxing hall. "Coach Qiao, thank you for your help this ti. It wouldn’t have been this easy without you."

Coach Qiao quickly adopted a serious expression. "It was nothing. It’s what our boxing hall should do."

Cai Si said, "It looks like several of your club’s best fighters were injured this ti. If you need any dicine, let us know. We have channels."

Coach Qiao hurriedly replied, "No need, thank you, Mr. Cai. They are all n of the boxing hall. Even if they can’t be fully healed this ti, the hall will support them for life."

"Still, we must thank you for your help this ti," Cai Si said, shaking Coach Qiao’s hand. He then turned to Chen Chuan. "Let’s go, junior. Coach Qiao must be busy. We shouldn’t get in the way of the rescue efforts."

Chen Chuan nodded, said his goodbyes to Coach Qiao, and the two of them walked back.

"Heh, that Old Qiao," Cai Si said. "You know why he refused our dicine? Because they need those injured fighters to prove they have nothing to do with these wanted criminals."

’According to Brother Si,’ Chen Chuan thought, ’the boxing hall deliberately let so of its fighters get injured—and its skilled fighters at that. They did it just to deflect a certain amount of suspicion. Regardless of whether it achieves that goal, they at least have a plausible excuse now.’

’It seems cruel to the boxers, but from the hall’s perspective, they had to sacrifice the interests of a few for the survival of the whole.’

He couldn’t say if it was right or wrong. He could only say that to survive in this world, many people had to do things they’d rather not, whether they were willing or not.

His thoughts shifted, and he rembered sothing else. "Brother Si," he asked, "those things on Scarface’s body... I heard Brother Wei say they were military Implants?"

Cai Si grunted in affirmation. "Yeah. But that’s a deep rabbit hole. If you want to get to the bottom of it... forget about . Even if you lump everyone in the commission companies together, we wouldn’t have enough clout."

Chen Chuan said, "Brother Si, do you have any information on Implants here? I’d like to learn about them."

"That..." Cai Si thought for a mont, then said tactfully, "You don’t need to be in a hurry. As long as you take on more assignnts, or if you join a commission company, you’ll naturally learn about these things. To be honest, this is the first ti Brother Wei and I have run into sothing like this, so you don’t have to worry too much about seeing it again."

Chen Chuan nodded. He could see that Cai Si ant well. He didn’t want him getting involved with this stuff, perhaps worried he might beco interested in Implants, or afraid he would get dragged into sothing ssy.

However, he had already been exposed to these things; he couldn’t just ignore them. Understanding them was necessary. ’I should probably ask Wei Chang’an about it later,’ he thought.
