"Screech..."

The mountain-brand pickup truck emitted a piercing friction noise, the tires almost sparking against the ground, and before the car ca to a complete stop, a figure leapt out from inside.

Fang Zheng rushed over and looked at Dapeng:

"What's going on?"

"I don't know." Dapeng's eyes were dull, his expression dazed:

"I really don't know anything."

"You..." Fang Zheng clenched his fist, striding toward the cri scene.

"Stop!"

"You can't go in there."

A police officer shouted loudly, reaching out to block him.

"Let him co over." He Jiangdong, who was checking the scene inside, motioned with his hand:

"Boss Fang might be able to provide so clues."

"Yes."

Quickly making his way to the scene, Fang Zheng lowered his head, his gaze fixating on one of the bodies, his eyes involuntarily narrowing, and the veins on the back of his hand stood out prominently.

Shi Xin!

He... is really dead!

How could this happen?

Even though he had seen many dead bodies, witnessing the untily death of a good friend who was chatting and laughing with him just a few days ago was still hard for him to accept.

"I also just found out that the deceased was Boss Fang's friend." He Jiangdong gently patted Fang Zheng's shoulder and sighed softly:

"My condolences."

"Who did it?" Fang Zheng's jaw was clenched, his eyes red:

"Who killed Shi Xin?"

Though murder cases can't be said to be nonexistent in modern society, they are indeed extrely rare, and he never imagined it happening to soone close to him.

"The person is Zhang Yongfeng." He Jiangdong didn't give a direct answer but pointed toward the other body in the scene, saying:

"He used to be the general manager of Longgang."

"Zhang Yongfeng?"

Fang Zheng squinted his eyes; he knew this person.

"When Longgang was sold, Zhang Yongfeng was responsible for dismissing and resettling the original employees, and he had more than twenty million in severance pay." He Jiangdong said:

"Now, that sum of severance pay has disappeared."

"He himself..."

"Has also been killed!"

?

Fang Zheng squinted his eyes:

"You an soone killed him to steal the severance pay, and Lao Shi... just happened to pass by and got killed to silence him?"

"More or less." He Jiangdong nodded:

"But Zhang never intended to give the severance pay to the employees; he planned to embezzle it himself. A few evenings ago, he was prepared to flee with the money."

"Your friend is a journalist; he should have been following Zhang, and when Zhang was escaping with the money, he went after him, and then... he encountered the killer."

"Who is the killer?" Fang Zheng lowered his head, gritting his teeth:

"I need to know who the killer is!"

"This..." He Jiangdong hesitated for a mont, then sighed helplessly:

"The killer's execution was clean and efficient, without leaving any traces at the scene, plus the murder occurred several nights ago, and the bodies have been imrsed in mud."

"The chances of finding the killer are not nonexistent, but they're extrely slim."

"Chief He." Fang Zheng turned his head, staring at him:

"You're an expert in solving cases at the Public Security Bureau, and you even earned the title of Hawkeye Detective when you graduated from the security school."

"You've never had a case you couldn't solve!"

Skills can be specialized.

Maybe the person's character isn't great, but his thods for solving cases are among the best in Qu City; there's no doubt about that.

"Ha..." He Jiangdong chuckled lightly, his expression complex:

"It's precisely because I understand murder cases too well that I know very clearly that a case like today's is almost bound to have no resolution."

"Boss Fang."

He patted Fang Zheng's shoulder gently and turned to leave:

"People must learn to accept that sotis questions have no answers."

For a long ti.

"Sigh..."

Fang Zheng exhaled deeply, his gaze sweeping across the scene, stopping one of the people present:

"Officer Lin."

"Boss Fang." Officer Lin halted his work and looked back:

"What's the matter?"

"I'd like to ask if you currently have any leads." Fang Zheng stepped closer, saying:

"As a friend of the deceased, it's not too much to inquire about the situation, right?"

"This..." Officer Lin pursed his lips, resignedly saying:

"I understand your feelings, but the Public Security Bureau has its regulations, and... I'm afraid you might do sothing regrettable."

If Fang Zheng found out sothing from him and then ran off to commit murder, he would be responsible.

"Don't worry."

Fang Zheng said quietly:

"I won't act impulsively, and Officer Lin wouldn't think I have no other way to find out just because you refuse to tell , right?"

"You..." Officer Lin frowned, thought for a mont, then sighed:

"Alright."

He stepped over to the bodies, saying:

"Both deceased were killed in one blow, with fatal wounds to the heart and neck, indicating the perpetrator has a thorough knowledge of the human body."

"Martial arts, also good."

Shi Xin wasn't particularly tall or strong, but he was physically fit, yet he was utterly defenseless against the killer, unable even to attempt escape.

This shows the disparity between them was imnse.

Imnse to an exaggerated degree.

"There's also the weapon."

Officer Lin crouched down and gestured with his hand:

"The weapon is slender, like a sharp chopstick, or perhaps a spike, capable of easily puncturing through human flesh and internal organs."

"It can also quickly cause bleeding."

"Once hit, especially in vital areas, survival chances are nearly nonexistent."

Fang Zheng squinted, his expression grave.

From Officer Lin's description, it's obvious the killer isn't an ordinary person, possibly a professional assassin, and appeared at just the right mont, indicating preditation.

"He knew Zhang Yongfeng would be at this place that night."

Fang Zheng said:

"Or rather..."

"He was able to ensure Zhang Yongfeng ca to the bridge underpass on the night of the murder, so the killer is likely soone Zhang Yongfeng knew."

"Correct." Officer Lin nodded:

"Not only knew, but also knew Zhang Yongfeng was carrying money, hence the motive for murder is robbery, and the bureau has already started summoning suspects for questioning."
