At the question of the voice, a heavy silence fell on the room.
Raven seed unbothered but the entire ordeal.
In fact, it was the old man that had intruded that was sweating bullets, almost like a thief caught in the act..
"Old patriarch magnus, there seem to be so issues going on between you and my forr student? Maybe I can help sort it out and we wouldn’t have to resort to violence" the voice addressed the old man, whose expression soured imdiately..
He wasn’t stupid, the fact that the dean had addressed him first, going as far as calling Raven his "old student" was clearly a warning in disguise..
The dean was basically telling him "choose your battle wisely, do you wish to continue or take this face that I’m giving you?"..
The old man understood clearly and he also understood that any chance he had at forcing raven to leave with him had flown out the window..
If the old dean was getting involved now, then any attempt in the future, should raven go "missing" by any ans, then their Draken ancient family would be the first to receive a visit..
The more the realization settled in his head, the more the old man’s expression twisted, yet what could he do?
He had just preached to Raven about the rules of the world, yet right now, he was standing before soone that lived above those rules as much as he could tell..
So what could he possibly do against such a being?
"Naturally, dean, I was rely here to welco my lovely daughter back ho, it has been a while since I’d last seen her so I thought it nice to pay her visit" the old man forced a smile..
"Aha.. so it was all a misunderstanding then, wasn’t it?" His voice was still jovial and happy, yet to The old magnus’ ears, they sounded nothing more than the devil’s voice..
Only fools would believe the dean of a place that was called "graveyard of geniuses" to be a nice and amiable person..
He swallowed, forcing down his sha as he replied "yes, dean, it was indeed all a misunderstanding"..
"Good. Then I guess that ans we’re done here and will be leaving, right?" The old voice asked once more, still jovial, yet there was not an ounce of an option for denial within his voice..
His words were clear for all, "since you’re done, then leave"..
"It is as you say dean" Magnus forced another ugly smile..
"Ravena, the doors back ho are always open whenever you wish to return" the old man spoke to raven as he got ready to leave..
"Old fool.." raven Called out, stopping him..
"You’ve just lost your best chance at preventing a catastrophe, because the next ti I step foot inside that den of vipers, it shall be with Dante by my side and it shall be to demand paynt in blood, so, prepare yourself and tell that snake, I’m coming for his head" Raven’s words were cold, dismissive..
The old man scowled as he promptly teleported away....

Another tense silence fell over the room as neither the aged voice no Raven spoke..
At least until the voice tried to speak..
"Little Raven-"
"I had it.. I didn’t need your assistance" Raven’s cold words cut him off..
"I know you did. But I didn’t think you’d have liked for little regulus’ gift to his son to end up as rabble in a pointless clash" the voiced sighed sadly..
"What happened to ’never involving ourselves in the world’s affairs’" Raven snickered..
"You’ve been getting awfully involved a lot lately haven’t you?"
"Hahahahaha... what can I say, age catches up to everyone, you tend to get restless as you get older" the voice laughed..
"Besides, what kind of father would I be if I let one of my children suffer at the hands of others"
"You already lost the right to call us your children when you folded your hands and watched my brother perish to the sches of people unworthy of bearing the weight of his blood" Raven shut the old voice down coldly...
Another round of silence fell upon the room..
This one heavy and charged with unspoken feelings..
"Sigh...." The old voice sighed wryly, seemingly aging another few years..
"Valen has renounced his succession to my position as dean" the voice said..
"As expected, the fact that he doesn’t resent you already shows how much love he has for you, old man" Raven replied coldly..
"I know I don’t deserve to say this, but, I’m truly sorry for what happened to little regulus, if the circumstances were different I would’ve loved to prevent such a fate from befalling such a brilliant light" the voice spoke, sadness and pain evident in his voice, but Raven wasn’t having any of it..
"If you cared like you always claid you did, then nothing would’ve stopped you, who claid to be our ’father’ from saving the life of your son, especially when you knew how he wished to die if ever he died"
"You not only failed him as a parent, you failed him as a warrior, all you ever taught him, you left him perishing probably believing it was all a lie, YOU LIED OLD MAN, you lied to regulus, so you don’t deserve to call him or anyone of is do that matter, your children, not now, not ever!!" Raven yelled in frustration, rage and pain, the hurt of losing her brother threatening to overwhelm her, but she held back, taking deep breaths as she tried to steady herself..
...
The old voice had gone quiet and just when Raven was about to Carry on watching Dante’s performance, believing the old man had left,
"Dakota and Long Tian, word from the abyss claims that the two are returning after relinquishing their roles"
"You planned this didn’t you?" The old voice asked..
"I rely sent word that the dragon’s child has awakened and that the ti is nigh, for them to have reacted simply ans their bond with regulus wasn’t rely word of mouth" Raven replied indifferently..
"You’re going against forces you are yet to understand the true depths of" the voice tried to reason..
"And it will be foolish for anyone to assu they know our true depths as well"..
Once again, silence...
"The balance of this world, I shall uphold, even if that ans going against you, my children" the old man once again broke the silence, his voice solemn..
"Heh.. if the balance of this world is what must be paid for our vengeance to be complete, then old man, I dare say even you won’t be able to stop us"
"Regulus’ blood debt will be paid in full, not by our hands, but by those of his own child, our roles are rely to ensure that he grows up properly and if the world’s balance must be shattered in the process, then so be it"..
"You would raise your blade against even ?"
"You already know the answer to that question, old man"... Raven replied coldly..
.....
"I... see... then, I wish you luck in you endeavors...and know that I’ll always consider you... My children"
With that, the voice disappeared and with it, the presence of the being it belonged to..
Drip!
Drip!
"Damn it... old man, you couldn’t just stay in your tower could you?".
Raven raised her head as she tried and failed to stop the trail of tears that had broken out..
"And we... will always consider you our father.. old man.."
