Gazing at the desert storm that blotted out the sky, Shen Haoran and the others didn’t dare hold anything back, unleashing their most powerful attacks from the very start.
Shen Haoran reached out, drawing forth and separating three colors of Spiritual Power before viciously slapping them together. A destructive aura emanated from his palms, instantly scattering the oppressive pressure of the world around them. The others imdiately felt their bodies lighten as the Spiritual Power within them began to circulate rapidly.
Ling Feng, Murong Wanqing, and the others stared with fluttering hearts at the three colors of Spiritual Power clashing relentlessly in Shen Haoran’s hands, their faces masks of pure shock. One had to understand, possessing two types of Spiritual Power already marked soone as a once-in-a-generation genius. Yet Shen Haoran had three. ’And more terrifying still, is he actually trying to forcibly fuse them all together?’
CRACK... CRACK...
A series of sharp cracks echoed from Shen Haoran’s hands. He poured his Spiritual Thought and Spiritual Power into his palms as if they cost him nothing, and the three colors of Spiritual Power began to slowly fuse together.
By now, the terrifyingly powerful storm of Spiritual Power had reached them. The raging tempest bombarded their bodies, making them feel as if they were about to be torn apart!
"Attack together!" Shen Haoran roared, then imdiately threw the fused, tri-colored Energy from his hands.
"Triple Fla Sun Burst!"
The tri-colored Energy, trailing a magnificent stream of light, shot like a lightning bolt toward the pitch-black desert storm. It tore right through the surrounding tempest of Spiritual Power, slamming viciously into the colossal black curtain.
Seeing this, Murong Wanqing and the others also held nothing back, launching their own powerful attacks in its wake!
"Vermilion Bird’s Heaven-Burning Fla!"
"Celestial Spirit Swordsmanship!"
"Heaven-Tearing Hand!"
Imdiately after, a palm strike, a sword attack, and a massive Vermilion Bird followed close behind Shen Haoran’s Fla Sun Burst, all viciously striking the desert storm!
BOOM BOOM BOOM...
In the next mont, the very sky and earth seed to change color. A blinding light erupted from within the desert storm, instantly banishing the surrounding darkness. The world seed to fall silent as everything grew still!
BOOM...
A mont later, a visible ripple spread out from the heart of the desert storm. The surrounding sea of sand erupted, sending pillars of sand shooting toward the heavens.
When the blinding light finally faded, the pitch-black desert storm had actually been split down the middle. A narrow fissure had been torn open by the combined attacks of Shen Haoran and his group!
"Go, now!" Shen Haoran roared. The fissure wouldn’t last long; it was already healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
But that all-out attack had left Ling Feng, Murong Wanqing, and the others completely drained; they had no strength left to flee for their lives! Seeing this, Shen Haoran unfurled the Vermilion Bird Wings on his back. He grabbed Murong Wanqing and Elder Xue, and with a single flap, shot like lightning toward the other side of the storm. Elder Bai scooped up Ling Feng and his two companions, then flashed forward in pursuit!
Deep within the desert storm, Shen Haoran’s heart clenched. The surrounding pitch-black curtain of sand was suffused with an aura of annihilation. ’This is the will of the heavens and earth,’ he thought. ’This is a true aura of destruction!’
But Shen Haoran had no ti for such reflections. The fissure they had blasted open was only wide enough for a few people to pass through at a ti, and it was closing at a rate visible to the naked eye. They had to get through before it sealed, or they would be utterly crushed by the storm!
A dragon’s phantom flickered beneath his feet as Shen Haoran pushed the Nine Heavens Shocking Cloud Step to its absolute limit. Only a few faint afterimages remained in the space behind him.
Elder Bai was no slower. In the blink of an eye, he caught up to Shen Haoran, and the two of them flew desperately toward the outside!
BOOM...
With a final, deafening crash, Shen Haoran and Elder Bai finally burst out of the desert storm. The fissure behind them slamd shut with a thunderous roar, and the powerful shockwave threw them forward, sending them crashing hard onto a distant, dark-golden sand dune.
"Hah... hah... We made it out!" Ling Feng breathed a long sigh of relief as he watched the desert storm recede into the distance. ’That was too close!’
"Cousin, are you alright?" Murong Wanqing hurriedly dug Shen Haoran out of the sand, her face etched with worry.
"Cough, cough... I’m fine!" Shen Haoran coughed hard, spitting out a mouthful of sand. He quickly swallowed an Elixir to calm the roiling energy in his body.
"Brother Shen, we owe you our thanks," Ling Feng said, cupping his fist to Shen Haoran. "If not for you, we might have given up and perished in that storm."
"I was only saving myself as well," Shen Haoran replied with a wave of his hand.
"Haha, I wonder, where are you heading next, Brother Shen?" Ling Feng asked. They were now deep in the heart of the desert, not far from his own destination.
"I’m going deeper," Shen Haoran said calmly, glancing around. ’This isn’t the oasis Murong Wanqing ntioned. Looks like we have to keep going.’
"Deeper still!" Ling Feng’s eyes flashed with shock. He couldn’t help but feel curious about what Shen Haoran’s group was searching for. ’What kind of treasure could possibly require one to venture into the very depths of the Desert Land?’
His curiosity was fleeting, however. He cupped his fist and said, "In that case, let’s part ways here. Be careful. I hope we et again!"
"Alright. Until we et again," Shen Haoran replied, also cupping his fist. ’We’ve been through life and death together this ti,’ he thought. ’He’s not a bad friend to have.’
And so, the two groups parted ways.
After parting with Ling Feng’s group, Shen Haoran and Murong Wanqing continued deeper into the desert in search of the oasis.
「One day later.」
Shen Haoran and Murong Wanqing lay atop a sand dune, their expressions grave as they gazed down at the oasis below, which was about the size of a football field.
"This is the oasis I found last ti, but it’s been taken over by Fla Yellow Pythons," Murong Wanqing said softly. "Getting inside won’t be easy."
At her words, Shen Haoran closed his eyes. His Spiritual Thought surged forth like a tide, rapidly spreading across the oasis.
A series of powerful auras registered in his mind one after another. Shen Haoran carefully guided his Spiritual Thought, sweeping it across the oasis in search of the Profound Yellow Fruit’s aura.
’Found it!’ Suddenly, Shen Haoran sensed a dense concentration of Earth Attribute Energy. He imdiately focused his Spiritual Thought on the source. In a small lake at the center of the oasis, a small tree, taller than a man, bore three brilliant golden fruits. Halos of light emanated from them, and tangible Earth Attribute Energy swirled around the tree, creating a marvelous sight.
’So this is the Profound Yellow Fruit?’ Shen Haoran murmured to himself, staring at the three gleaming golden fruits. ’With such dense Earth Attribute Energy, this oasis must exist because of this fruit.’
However, as he looked at the three Profound Yellow Fruits, Shen Haoran’s brow furrowed. ’Even though I’ve found them, getting them won’t be easy.’ Just monts ago, his rough scan had revealed no fewer than ten Tier Four Spirit Beasts hidden within the oasis. And beyond them, there was an even more powerful aura—it had to be the Snake Emperor Murong Wanqing had ntioned!
