"What? You joined the Celestial Spirit Sect? And as a disciple of the Third Elder!" A sudden cry of surprise rang out from within the flower garden, startling the resting birds and sending them fluttering away in a panic.
After Shen Haoran had invited Ling Feng into the flower garden, he told him about joining the Celestial Spirit Sect. Ling Feng’s shocked reaction was just what Shen Haoran and his two companions had hoped to see.
It would have been strange if Ling Feng wasn’t shocked. The Third Elder rarely managed affairs within the Celestial Spirit Sect and seldom appeared before the disciples. Many disciples had likely only ever heard of the Third Elder by na but had never seen him in person. Yet now, not only had the Third Elder personally co out to greet Shen Haoran’s group, but he had also directly accepted them as his Closed-door Disciples. This was completely unheard of!
"Ahem... I heard Elder Fang from the Outer Sect was giving you a hard ti. I was planning to co see if you were alright. I never expected that not only are you fine, but you’ve even beco a disciple of the Third Elder. Congratulations!" Ling Feng took a long mont to recover from his shock before finally offering his envious congratulations.
"What’s there to congratulate? It’s just joining the Celestial Spirit Sect, that’s all," Shen Haoran said dismissively with a wave of his hand.
Hearing this, Ling Feng couldn’t help but roll his eyes. The Third Elder’s prestige in the Celestial Spirit Sect was extraordinarily high, and his strength was terrifying. Which disciple didn’t dream of studying under him? And here was Shen Haoran, acting all modest after hitting the jackpot. It was infuriating!
"Well, since you’ve all joined the Celestial Spirit Sect now, how about I show you around? I’ll let you see our Sect’s Celestial Spirit Three Extremities!" Ling Feng quickly changed the subject. He figured if he kept talking to Shen Haoran, he’d probably die of anger.
"The Celestial Spirit Three Extremities?" Hearing the na, Shen Haoran and his companions were all a little curious.
"That’s right!" Ling Feng said with a mysterious smile. Soon after, another disciple delivered the robes and Tokens of an Inner Sect Disciple to Shen Haoran and his companions. After changing, the three of them followed Ling Feng deeper into the Celestial Spirit Sect.
"So what exactly are these Celestial Spirit Three Extremities?" Shen Haoran asked along the way.
Hearing Shen Haoran’s question, Ling Feng dropped the mysterious act and began to explain. "The Celestial Spirit Three Extremities are the three great treasures of our Celestial Spirit Sect: the Slaughter Tower, the Celestial Spirit Hall, and the Secret Pavilion! The Secret Pavilion is where we store our Cultivation and Martial Skills. I don’t need to say much about that; it’s the foundation of any Sect, so you surely understand.
"As for the Celestial Spirit Hall, that’s sothing unique to our Celestial Spirit Sect. The climate in the Northern Domain is unusual, and these ’Gang Winds’ often blow through. However, this Gang Wind has the effect of tempering the body! Ordinary Gang Wind has a negligible effect, but the Gang Wind in our Celestial Spirit Hall is sothing else entirely.
"The Gang Wind of the Celestial Spirit Hall is divided into the Earth Demon Gang Wind and the Celestial Spirit Gang Wind. The Earth Demon Gang Wind blows up from the depths of the earth and is exceptionally powerful; ordinary people can’t withstand it at all. The Celestial Spirit Gang Wind is even more terrifying. It blows out from a spatial rift. Even a Tier Four Spirit Marquis who excels at defense would be instantly torn to shreds. Martial Artists below the Spirit Aspect realm would find it hard to even step inside. Among the five hundred Inner Sect Disciples, only a handful can last a quarter of an hour in there, and none for more than the ti it takes half an incense stick to burn. A place like that can truly be considered a death ground!"
"Celestial Spirits and Earthly Fiends, huh?" Hearing Ling Feng’s explanation, Shen Haoran felt a flicker of interest. After all, the path of Body Refinent had long been abandoned by the continent’s Martial Artists. The process was excruciatingly painful, and it took an extrely long ti to see results. In contrast, the Refinent of Spiritual Power was painless and offered rapid Cultivation speed. Naturally, Body Refinent was left behind!
However, Shen Haoran knew just how essential it was to possess a powerful physique. If one cultivated Body Refinent to the stage of Great Success, their power would absolutely surpass that of Martial Artists who focused on the Refinent of Spiritual Power!
Shen Haoran now understood how Ling Feng had been able to contend with Wang the Fifth in the Desert Land despite being so heavily injured. It seed he had spent a fair amount of ti cultivating in the Celestial Spirit Hall!
"But that’s only two of the ’Extremities.’ What about the last one?" Murong Wanqing asked.
At her question, Ling Feng chuckled and pointed to a tall, black tower in the distance. "The final extremity is right over there—the Slaughter Tower!"
Hearing this, Shen Haoran and his companions gazed into the distance. A pitch-black tower pierced the clouds, and even from so far away, they could feel its ancient, profound aura.
"The Slaughter Tower is the foundation upon which the Celestial Spirit Sect was built and is one of its Sacred Lands. Only Inner Sect Disciples are permitted to challenge the tower. It’s also a place to test the combat strength of the Inner Sect Disciples. The Slaughter Tower is divided into thirteen floors, each with a guardian. You can only pass by defeating that guardian.
"Although the guardians have no physical form, their strength is exceptionally formidable. Of the five hundred Inner Sect Disciples, most can only reach the Fourth Floor. Only about thirty can make it to the Fifth Floor, and even fewer—just ten—reach the Sixth Floor. As for the Seventh Floor, there are only three!"
"So few? Out of thirteen floors, the highest anyone has reached is the Seventh Floor?" Murong Wanqing asked in surprise.
"Of course! Did you think the Slaughter Tower was so kind of cakewalk? The guardian of just the Fourth Floor is already at the level of a Tier Six Spirit Marquis, which is the minimum requirent for an Inner Sect Disciple!" Ling Feng said, rolling his eyes at her.
"So what floor did you reach?" Han Xu asked. ’Ling Feng is a Tier Eight Spirit Marquis; his strength can’t be bad!’
"? I made it to the Sixth Floor! The guardian of the Sixth Floor has reached the Spirit Marquis Peak. I was barely able to defeat it!" Ling Feng said proudly.
"Only the Sixth Floor?" Shen Haoran murmured. When Ling Feng heard this, he nearly died of anger. ’What do you an, *only* the Sixth Floor? Out of five hundred Inner Sect Disciples, only about ten people can even get that far! How is that not impressive?’
"But there’s one monster who made it to the ninth floor. That guy’s strength is truly terrifying! Oh, right, Brother Shen, you should be careful. That freak who reached the ninth floor has so connection to Fang Shizhong. He might co looking for trouble with you!" Ling Feng suddenly rembered sothing and warned Shen Haoran.
"Is that so?" Shen Haoran murmured, committing the person Ling Feng ntioned to mory. ’To stand above five hundred Inner Sect Disciples, this person must have sothing extraordinary about him.’
"Co on, I’ll take you to have a look!" Ling Feng said, seeing the expectant looks on their faces.
"Alright!" Murong Wanqing said happily. She was eager to see what was so special about this Slaughter Tower.
The four of them followed him to the base of the towering Slaughter Tower. Standing so close to it, Shen Haoran, Murong Wanqing, and Han Xu were all visibly shocked.
The pitch-black Slaughter Tower was covered in esoteric and incomprehensible runes. The tadpole-like characters spoke of its long history; this Slaughter Tower was definitely a relic passed down from Ancient Tis.
"Let’s go, let’s head in and give it a try. It’s been a while for , too. A good chance to test what level my strength has reached!" Ling Feng said, rubbing his hands together eagerly. He then led Shen Haoran and his companions toward the Slaughter Tower...
