Three days passed in the blink of an eye.
After three days, the young man returned again.
This ti, he was more seriously injured, and the expression on his face was even more terrifying, as if he had failed once again in whatever he attempted.
The villagers, seeing this odd young man return, felt uneasy once more. However, since he hadn’t caused any trouble last ti, they could only turn a blind eye.
In fact, the only one who felt happy about his return was probably Xiao Hui.
In truth, Xiao Hui saw herself in the boy, as after her mother was taken by a Demon outside the mountains, she had also beco reclusive for a long ti, just like him.
She felt she could understand this strange person, and perhaps, sothing bad had happened to him as well.
"Damn it, if I hadn’t lost to that person, causing my invincible spirit to collapse, how could I even fail to subdue that beast!"
The young man gripped his fist tightly. Ever since losing to that guy nad "Ling Feng," he felt that even his Power of Destiny had been completely plundered.
He was no longer the genius in whose favor the winds blew, as if he stumbled wherever he went.
"Hey, you’re back again!"
Before he knew it, Xiao Hui appeared in front of the young man with a cheerful smile. Seeing the blood gushing from his abdon, she furrowed her brow.
"I have herbs and bandages at ho; I’ll get them for you!"
The little girl ran off earnestly, returning in a short ti.
"Huff... huff... huff..."
When she returned, she was panting heavily, but there was a sweet smile on her face.
Because she felt like she had suddenly beco a healer just like her father!
The young man frowned; what did this annoying little girl want to do?!
He rested his hand on Xiao Hui’s shoulder, furrowed his brow, and glared at her coldly. These ordinary herbs could never help with his injuries.
"Don’t move, okay!"
Xiao Hui looked up and smiled at the young man, "I know it hurts, but once it’s bandaged, you’ll feel better! Xiao Hui is the village’s top doctor, you know!"
With a sowhat guilty look, she stuck out her tongue, having only ever treated cats and dogs.
Seeing the innocence in Xiao Hui’s eyes, the young man’s heart softened. He let go of her shoulder and allowed the little girl to bandage him.
He considered it repaying her for the pancake she gave him last ti.
Although, he found it odd himself—he had always looked down on these commoners and their food.
After bustling about for a while, Xiao Hui finally managed to bandage the wound on his abdon. Satisfied with her masterpiece, she nodded in contentnt.
However, it wasn’t long before the fresh bandages were soaked through with blood, causing Xiao Hui to sweat anxiously.
"That’s odd, why isn’t the Hemostatic Grass working?"
"It’s because the demon energy of the Qing Lin Snake is still attached to my wound; ordinary Hemostatic Grass won’t be effective."
For the first ti, the young man spoke, taking out a bottle of Elixir from the Spirit Storage Ring, and said through gritted teeth, "Crush this and apply it for ."
"Oh..."
Xiao Hui was montarily stunned. This strange person could speak! And his voice was quite nice and gentle, unlike anyone in the village!
In no ti, Xiao Hui crushed the Elixir and applied it to the young man’s wound. His brow tightened, then gradually relaxed, as the blood finally stopped.
"What amazing dicine!"
Xiao Hui looked at him in amazent, curious how he had conjured that Elixir seemingly out of nowhere.
"As expected, rely so ignorant commoners."
The young man shook his head, took a deep breath, and slowly said, "If you like it, you can have this bottle of Elixir."
"Can I?"
Xiao Hui blinked, then quickly shook her head, "No, I don’t even know your na, and I’m not your friend. I can’t accept a gift from you!"
The young man found it amusing; this little girl was rather clever!
"My na is Yan Hong, the ’Hong’ of Jinghong!"
A glint of coldness flashed in the young man’s eyes. Before he reclaid everything that was rightfully his, he would be called Yan Hong!
"Yan... Hong?"
Xiao Hui scratched the back of her head, not knowing which ’Hong’ it was in Jinghong.
"Is it the ’red’ Hong?"
The young man shook his head, "The ’Hong’ of Jinghong."
"Is it the ’bright red’ Hong?"
The young man twitched his lips slightly, realizing that explaining this to her was just asking for trouble.
"Forget it then!"
Xiao Hui shook her head and furrowed her brows, "I’ll just call you ’Oddball’ anyway!"
With that, Xiao Hui put away the Elixir bottle and said with a smile, "So now we’re friends, right?"
"Nonsense, what status do I have! You little kid, how could you be my friend?"
Yan Hong cursed inwardly, but outwardly he said calmly, "I suppose so."
Perhaps he did need a friend.
Even if it was a little girl in an inconspicuous small village where he sought healing.
After all, leaving here, no one would know he had such a little friend.
Yan Hong stayed in the village to recuperate for another three days, and then he left again.
This ti, he bid farewell to Xiao Hui, promising her that he would surely return to visit her, his friend.
Then, he left the small village, resuming his quest to trouble the Qing Lin Snake Demon King.
He had a feeling that this ti, he would succeed!
...
Another three days passed.
Every morning, Xiao Hui waited at the village entrance, believing that the oddball nad Yan Hong, though temperantal, would keep his word.
On the morning of the third day, her premonition grew stronger.
She felt that Yan Hong was coming back.
He was her important friend! Her first true friend!
However, a black smoke drifted over from the village entrance, forming into an extrely hideous face, and wherever it went, the uncles, aunts, and villagers fell straight down, quickly turning into cadaverous corpses.
"Heh heh heh! How tempting the sll of fresh blood in this village is! I shall seize this body!"
Soon, the black smoke floated beside the large tree at the village entrance. The puddle of blood on the ground was the source of that alluring scent.
"Hmm, already gone? Damn it, then let your ignorant villagers’ blood quench my thirst!"
The hideous face within the black smoke twisted, growing more savage, and frantically plundered the lives of the ordinary villagers, with cries and calls for help echoing persistently...
In an instant, this unseen, untroubled little village turned into a scene of the Shura Slaughterhouse!
