Jiang Yixia blushed, feeling a little embarrassed at the thought.
She couldn’t fathom why she had agreed to do... *those things* with Lu Fan in the kitchen back then.
So, to prevent history from repeating itself, Jiang Yixia was determined to keep Lu Fan from getting close to her.
She couldn’t let him use his scumbag tactics on her, or her heart might soften and she’d give in again.
So many years had passed. Jiang Yixia absolutely would not forgive him so easily just because of a few sweet nothings!
’I absolutely cannot give in for nothing!’
This was the warning Jiang Yixia gave herself.
But just as she was slicing tomatoes, her mind wandered, and the tip of the knife accidentally nicked her index finger.
"Ah!"
Jiang Yixia jerked her hand back, watching as a bit of blood welled up on her finger.
Hearing the sound from the living room, Lu Fan imdiately called out, "Yixia, what’s wrong?"
"It’s nothing. None of your business," Jiang Yixia stressed.
But Lu Fan wasn’t about to care about their ground rules now. He walked straight into the kitchen.
When he saw her bleeding finger, he imdiately grew anxious. "Did you cut yourself? Should we go to the hospital?"
Jiang Yixia was speechless. "It’s just a tiny drop of blood, not even as much as your nosebleed. We don’t need to go to the hospital."
She pressed a tissue against it to stop the bleeding, not wanting to make a big deal out of it.
But Lu Fan didn’t agree.
He asked, "Where’s the first-aid kit? I’ll get you a bandage."
"I don’t need one."
"Yes, you do."
Hearing Lu Fan’s commanding tone, Jiang Yixia surprisingly obeyed. She finally said, "It’s in the TV stand."
Lu Fan went over to the TV stand, opened the cabinet, and took out the bandages.
Bandage in hand, he returned to the kitchen, wanting to put it on for Jiang Yixia.
Jiang Yixia had originally wanted to say she’d do it herself.
But seeing the look on Lu Fan’s face, she had no choice but to obediently hold out her hand.
After everything was taken care of, Lu Fan finally said, "I know you want to make a lavish dinner, but you can’t let the pressure get to you like this."
Jiang Yixia scowled and snapped, "Get lost!"
"Haha, alright!" Seeing that she was fine, Lu Fan decided to leave the kitchen.
After all, this wasn’t his main battlefield.
Just before he left, though, Jiang Yixia asked, "Is your nose still bleeding?"
"Nope. But if you want, you can take a look inside and see if it’s still bleeding," Lu Fan said with a grin.
Jiang Yixia picked up the knife and stared at him, her face devoid of expression.
Lu Fan stopped running his mouth and quickly made his escape.
Before long, a steaming bowl of tomato and egg noodles was placed in front of him.
Then, Jiang Yixia brought out a bowl for herself and started eating.
Lu Fan noticed that there were no fried eggs in Jiang Yixia’s bowl.
But there were two in his. He smiled. "Yixia, you’re still the sa as before."
"What?" Jiang Yixia asked with a frown.
"Back then, you always put both fried eggs in my bowl for to eat, while you went without," Lu Fan said cheerfully.
Only then did Jiang Yixia realize that she had, in fact, put both fried eggs into Lu Fan’s bowl.
Now things got awkward.
She quickly put on a look of disdain. "Eat it if you want. If you don’t, give it back."
But Lu Fan picked up one of the fried eggs and placed it in her bowl, saying, "One for you, one for . That’ll keep us from drifting apart."
"Who has any ’feelings’ with you?" Jiang Yixia said, feigning indifference. "After I finish eating, I’m going to my room to rest. You can go to sleep whenever you want, but I’m warning you, don’t you dare co into the master bedroom, or I’m calling the cops imdiately."
"Yixia, can you really bear to..."
Before Lu Fan could finish, Jiang Yixia cut him off. "Yes, I can. I very much can. Alright, you don’t need to ask."
Lu Fan looked at her serious expression and thought to himself, ’This girl really knows how to hold a grudge. Then again, it’s only normal. I did hurt her so deeply back then. It’s completely normal for her to get back at now, to throw a few sharp words my way.’
Lu Fan chuckled. "Alright, then. Let’s eat our noodles."
With that, he began to slurp down the noodles Jiang Yixia had made.
It had to be said, Jiang Yixia’s cooking was incredible. It was just a simple bowl of tomato and egg noodles, yet she could make it taste like a gourt delicacy.
Seeing him eat with such gusto and focus, Jiang Yixia couldn’t tell if this guy was just putting on an act or being genuine.
Logically speaking, how could soone who had tasted the finest delicacies possibly appreciate a simple, ordinary bowl of tomato and egg noodles like this?
So, in Jiang Yixia’s eyes, she still believed he was faking it.
He was just trying to win her favor.
’Hmph, I won’t fall for it!’
Soon, his bowl of noodles was finished.
Lu Fan had eaten quite happily.
He looked at Jiang Yixia’s bowl, which was still full of noodles, and asked curiously, "Yixia, aren’t you going to eat?"
Jiang Yixia snapped back to reality.
She quickly stamred, "I’m eating... who said I’m not eating? Don’t even think about eyeing my noodles."
"I have to say, the noodles you make are just too delicious. The last ti I had them, I was savoring the mory for days," Lu Fan said with feeling.
Hearing this, Jiang Yixia muttered under her breath, "Liar. You say that every ti. You’re always lying."
"I’m really not lying to you. Should I swear on it?"
"Swearing an oath is as easy as eating lettuce for you. I believed you eighteen years ago. Do you think I’d still believe you now?" Jiang Yixia said, exasperated.
Lu Fan chuckled. "Yixia, don’t be so serious. You keep bringing up things from eighteen years ago. I’m not that sa philandering pretty boy I was back then. I’ve turned over a new leaf."
"Have you turned over a new leaf, or have you just played around so much over the years that you don’t have the... *ability* for it anymore?" Jiang Yixia’s words were rciless as she shot back the question.
