Upon receiving Ye Yun’s approval, the Sky-boring Rat stood up, beaming, not forgetting to glance at the Big Black Cat.
That look... it was as if he’d just been granted a ’get-out-of-jail-free’ card.
The Big Black Cat was so angry her teeth itched.
What a shaless coward. His ability to adapt to circumstances is truly remarkable! She had no idea what Master Ye Yun saw in this shifty-eyed creature to actually take him in.
However, the Big Black Cat wasn’t foolish. She knew Ye Yun was calculating and far-sighted, and his actions were far beyond the comprehension of a re Nine-tailed Spirit Cat like herself.
Ye Yun held up the Star Shield.
"Where did you obtain this shield?" he asked indifferently.
"Master, this Star Shield is the ancestral treasure of our Drilling Sky Mouse Clan. There are seven Seven-sided Star Shields in total, and this is the seventh one, the least powerful..." the Sky-boring Rat said with a bow, speaking very candidly.
Having traveled extensively and seen much of the world, he naturally understood the terrifying power of the white-robed Master before him. Thus, he had no intention of concealing anything.
So there are seven Seven-sided Star Shields... Ye Yun murmured to himself, lost in thought.
How could the Drilling Sky Mouse Clan possess seven Seven-sided Star Shields? Seven Seven-sided Star Shields would an seven dragon scales from the Star Dragon. What exactly happened back then? How did the Drilling Sky Mouse Clan so coincidentally obtain seven dragon scales? Ye Yun was very curious.
The number "seven" also sparked endless speculation in his mind. He even wondered if it was related to the Seven-star formation.
"But one can’t just link seven dragon scales to the Seven-star formation based on that alone; there’s no need to be overly suspicious..." Ye Yun chuckled inwardly, montarily dismissing the thought.
"The Seven-sided Star Shields have a significant history; how did your Drilling Sky Mouse Clan acquire them?" Ye Yun asked.
"Master, I don’t know. It’s a clan secret; only the Clan Leader knows..." the Sky-boring Rat said, scratching his head sowhat sheepishly.
"Coward! Don’t you dare lie in front of Master!" the Big Black Cat scolded, glaring at him.
"How would I dare lie, Cat Brother! I truly don’t know!" the Sky-boring Rat exclaid, spreading his hands, looking as if he were about to cry.
Tiny, star-like runes flashed in Ye Yun’s eyes for an instant. He then nodded.
Having discreetly probed the Sky-boring Rat’s mories just monts before, Ye Yun found that the shifty-eyed creature hadn’t lied.
Looking at the Sky-boring Rat, Ye Yun smiled. "Although you’re a bit ugly, you speak with so reliability..."
"Ah... This..."
Caught off guard by Ye Yun’s words, the Sky-boring Rat’s face turned bright red. No matter how thick-skinned he was, he felt sowhat abashed in front of Ye Yun.
"Haha, Coward, you really are uglier than !" the Big Black Cat laughed, almost unable to contain herself.
When she transford into her human form, she was a handso youth in a black robe. Her naturally superior air and striking looks stood in stark contrast to the shifty Sky-boring Rat beside her.
"Cat Brother, this is just how I am. I’ve accepted it!" the Sky-boring Rat said, scratching his head and chuckling again.
It seed he genuinely wasn’t bothered by his own appearance.
"You certainly are thick-skinned!" the Big Black Cat said with a shrug, speechless.
"Cat Brother, you’ve never been to our Bottomless Pit. Actually, with my looks, I’m considered one of the most handso ones there!" the Sky-boring Rat continued shalessly.
"Sigh!" The Big Black Cat let out a long sigh, feeling utterly defeated by the Sky-boring Rat.
Ye Yun also laughed.
Cats and rats truly were natural adversaries.
Although the Big Black Cat had the upper hand in terms of strength, she was outmatched when it ca to shalessness.
The relationship between these two was extrely complex, a mixture of animosity and friendship.
Ye Yun had taken in the Sky-boring Rat firstly for the Star Shield, and secondly, because he thought the cat-and-rat duo might prove to be amusing.
His black carriage was spacious enough to accommodate another small rat.
Placing a rat among several kittens... he wondered what interesting things might happen.
After his sweeping conquests in the Demon World and experiencing the loneliness of being invincible, Ye Yun had begun to blend in with the mundane world, constantly seeking new forms of amusent.
Taking in the Sky-boring Rat was his first such new decision.
Regarding rodents...
In fact, within Ye Yun’s warehouse, in those distant, dark corners, lived a large number of Mouse God Pets.
These Mouse God Pets were also very powerful. Ye Yun recalled one particular type of Mouse God Pet that had once devoured half an epoch.

"Where did Master go? Cat Brother, what should we do next?" the Sky-boring Rat asked, looking nervously at the Big Black Cat.
"Follow , Coward!" the Big Black Cat said irritably, then leaped up and shot out from underground.
The Sky-boring Rat followed closely behind.
The black carriage was parked nearby, and the Big Black Cat reached it in the ti it took to draw a breath.
"What are all these?"
As the Sky-boring Rat flew over and saw a carriage full of cats, being a rat, he instinctively shivered.
He quickly scanned them with his Divine Sense and found that these demon beasts didn’t seem to have much of a cultivation base. Only a small white kitten in the Nirvana Realm had the highest cultivation among them.
"Master seems to be soone who enjoys raising cats..." The Sky-boring Rat sighed in relief, his expression relaxing as he ca to this conclusion.
"But why are there also a silvery little silkworm and a crystal-clear spider on the carriage?" The Sky-boring Rat’s gaze shifted, and he noticed two new demon beasts, his curiosity piqued.
Seeing the Sky-boring Rat’s shifty expression, the Big Black Cat suppressed a laugh and said nothing.
This Sky-boring Rat is just a country bumpkin; how could he possibly know how terrifying the demon beasts on this carriage are?
"This is a new mber. You should all get acquainted..." Ye Yun said with a gentle smile as he stepped into the carriage.
"Well, well, has the little rat arrived?" The Bloody Overlord Demonic Dragon hopped over, pointed its small red claw at the Sky-boring Rat, and announced loudly, "Sa old rules: no human forms on the carriage! Change back to your original form, quickly!"
"Change back to my original form?"
The Sky-boring Rat was stunned, montarily unable to process this.
His original form was enormous; this carriage couldn’t possibly fit him.
WHAP!
A black horse’s tail suddenly swept down, and with a THUD, it smacked the Sky-boring Rat back into its original form.
Not only was he returned to his original form, but the blow had also shrunk him down considerably.
"Now that you’re here, you follow the rules, understand?" The Big Black Horse whickered, its lips peeling back to reveal its large, snow-white teeth.
It blew gently, and the Sky-boring Rat, still in mid-air, was swept onto the carriage floor.
Aching all over, the Sky-boring Rat landed right next to the Ruyi Jade Spider.
"This little rat is truly ugly..." the Ruyi Jade Spider remarked, stepping back a few paces. Her voice was crisp and clear, like pearls dropping onto a jade plate, and she spoke with childlike candor.
