Director Liu was unusually on ti leaving work today.

Normally, soone as busy with work and social engagents as he is would consider it quite good to be ho by eight or nine in the evening.

But today was different; unfinished work could wait until tomorrow, and he cleared up all his engagents.

This certainly made people a bit surprised.

Director Liu took the initiative to explain, smiling as he said:

"Today is my 30th wedding anniversary. I told my family I’d be ho for dinner, so I must go ho!"

Only then did others understand, feeling both enlightened and a bit emotional:

Director Liu really is a good man who loves his family and wife. Despite his busy work schedule, he still rembers such things.

As soon as it was ti to leave, Director Liu leisurely picked up his bag and left, even making a special stop by a florist near ho to buy a bouquet before heading to his apartnt building.

Upon opening the door, his wife saw him holding the bouquet and couldn’t help but laugh:

"You never used to buy flowers. There must be sothing particularly cheerful about today, right?"

"My wife knows best!"

Director Liu casually placed the flowers into a nearby vase, laughing as he said,

"Hurry and change your clothes, we’re not eating at ho tonight. I’m taking you out for so delicious food!"

"What’s so great to eat outside? It’s all unsanitary stuff, not nearly as healthy or tasty as homade als."

His wife kept grumbling, but Director Liu paid no mind, waving his hand to urge her:

"Just go, no more questions! Others want to go but can’t! I promise you’ll never forget this al!"

"Hah! Bragging without sha. What haven’t I already tasted?"

His wife pouted, obviously not believing him, but still listened to Director Liu and went to change clothes.

A few minutes later, Director Liu took his wife downstairs. He didn’t drive; instead, he flagged a taxi at the gate of their complex, and they headed towards the university district.

Though his wife hadn’t spoken earlier, she was curious. As the car drove on, she couldn’t hold back her curiosity, turned her head, and quietly asked:

"Lao Liu, didn’t you say we’re going to eat sothing delicious? Why are we heading to Jiang University instead?"

When they got in the taxi and the driver asked Director Liu where they were going, she naturally heard him say Jiang University.

"You’re so curious, just like when you were young,"

Director Liu gently patted her hand, smiling mysteriously,

"I’m not telling you today. You’ll know everything when we get there."

"Really... the older you get, the less serious you beco!"

She teased, lightly tapping him, but felt a sweetness in her heart.

At work, Director Liu was one way, while at ho, he was another, but their affection for each other was undeniably strong.

It was rush hour, and the roads were severely congested. A trip that normally took half an hour ended up taking over an hour to reach the gates of Jiang University.

Director Liu paid the fare, and as they got out of the taxi, he couldn’t help but urge:

"Wifey, let’s hurry, let’s hurry! I’m afraid the good food will be gone if we’re too late!"

"..."

His wife was speechless. Normally, Director Liu wasn’t a glutton; even when his favorite braised pork was served, he would only nibble one or two pieces, unlike others who would eat their fill in one go.

What’s going on this ti?

Is there really a master chef here at Jiang University?

How is that possible? A talented chef would have long gone to a big restaurant to earn big money, right?

She shook her head, finding her thoughts quite amusing.

Frankly, if not for Lao Liu insisting, she wouldn’t have co here!

It was already past six in the evening, and the sky was dark. In the Jiang University campus, the streetlights glowed bright, and lights dotted the various campus buildings.

Students road in small groups, so strolling and chatting leisurely along the paths; others were sweating it out on the basketball courts under the lights; others hurried with their books to the library, determined not to choose ease in an age for hard work...

Director Liu didn’t have ti to feel nostalgic about this peaceful campus life. He found his wife’s pace too slow and held her hand as they hurried toward the Seventh Dining Hall.

His wife was always thodical, never rushing even in ergencies, and this brisk walking was unaccustod to her; she couldn’t help but complain:

"Lao Liu, you’ve been acting a bit strange lately!"

He really had been acting strange.

He used to enjoy dining at ho and loved her braised pork, cola chicken wings, and sour-spicy fish soup.

Every ti she made these dishes, he’d eat an extra small bowl of rice and shower her with praise afterward.

In these monts, her heart always felt sweet and full.
