Now reading: Chapter 31: What Kind of Divine Speed Is This? from Chef at the University Canteen, a Drama novel by 13 Leisurely Guests.

On the system panel, under the "Cooking Level" section, it clearly stated: Beginner (18%).

This made Jiang Yu, who was previously stunned by the skyrocketing wealth value, "shake with shock" once again.

Beginner doesn’t need much explanation, it’s no different from last ti. What truly surprised him was the 18% in parentheses!

He rembered very clearly that when he checked the system panel last night, it said 12%. In just one day’s ti, the progress jumped forward by six percentage points!

What kind of divine speed is this?

This is not just a progress bar in a computer ga that you can only watch, this is actual culinary improvent that can be converted into personal skill points!

If he progresses at this rate every day, doesn’t that an he only needs half a month for his cooking level to rise to interdiate?

Another half month, and it’s advanced?

Yet another half month, and wouldn’t he beco a culinary master?

If a kitchen newbie could truly elevate their cooking from zero to master level within a few months...

Those who have been honing their skills in the kitchen since their teens, practicing diligently for decades until their hair turns grey and their head sparse, would probably cry themselves unconscious in the restroom if they knew about this.

However, Jiang Yu thought about it and realized it might not be that simple.

Although his culinary talent had greatly improved under the support of the Gourt System, progressing at every mont with obvious improvents.

But it’s probably because he’s still at the beginner level. Once he reaches interdiate or even advanced, progress won’t be that easy.

It’s not just cooking; any skill shows obvious improvent at the beginning, but the further along you go, each bit of improvent takes much longer.

Sotis, progress requires not just diligent practice, but also opportunity.

Thinking of this, Jiang Yu cald down again.

Still, he was quite happy; advancing to interdiate level sooner would surely be a good thing.

At that point, his knife skills, heat control, and wok tossing techniques might not be perfect, but at least he’d use them skillfully.

Maybe then, he could redeem so stir-fry dishes to enrich his skill tree.

"By the way, with Lu Shuwu at the shop, his soup dumpling skills are good enough. So, can I hand over the soup dumplings to him and only be responsible for preparing the stuffing?"

Jiang Yu lay back down again, eyes fixed on the ceiling above.

Previous students who lived here had pasted a blue starry sky map on it, which, in the dim light coming through the window, appeared sowhat dreamy.

He stared at the "starry sky" above his head, his thoughts gradually drifting far away,

"Now that I have more free ti, should I redeem a new dish?"

Thinking about it, Jiang Yu unknowingly fell asleep just like that.

...

When the shrill alarm clock rang in his ear, Jiang Yu suddenly opened his eyes, realizing it was already broad daylight.

He picked up his phone to check the ti; it was a few minutes to five.

He quickly got out of bed, rushed to the bathroom to relieve himself, brushed his teeth, washed his face, put on clothes and shoes, and only then grabbed his phone and went out.

Going downstairs, he was pondering what excuse to use to wake up the dorm supervisor to get the key and open the door. But as he reached the entrance, he found the building’s iron gate wasn’t locked. Soone had opened it in advance.

Jiang Yu was pleasantly surprised and didn’t think much of it, directly leaving the building and heading straight toward the canteen.

Before reaching the canteen, the phone in his hand started ringing. As soon as he picked it up, a hearty and bold laughter ca through the earpiece:

"Boss Xiao Jiang, I’ve delivered the flour and fresh ingredients you ordered in advance yesterday. They’re right outside the second canteen. When can you co to pick them up?"

"I’ll be there right away; Boss Zhao, please take a break for now."

Jiang Yu quickly replied, hung up the phone, and sped up his pace.

When he got to the front of the second canteen, Boss Zhao had already helped move all the goods to the shop’s entrance. Seeing Jiang Yu, he clapped the dust off his hands, grinning as he said:

"Boss Xiao Jiang, your shop doesn’t look big, but you’ve ordered quite a lot of ingredients. Seems like you have so ancestral skills, business must be good."

"Boss Zhao, you’re exaggerating, it’s just small-scale hustle."

Jiang Yu waved his hand with a smile and said, "Thank you for personally delivering the goods. By the way, how should we settle the paynt for these ingredients?"

"Whatever you prefer, whether you want to settle daily or monthly, whatever’s convenient for you."

Boss Zhao seed indifferent.

His fresh produce distribution center didn’t just serve Jiang Yu’s shop; many big restaurants and eateries in the city relied on them for supplies.

Frankly speaking, he didn’t really care about the small quantities Jiang Yu ordered daily.

The reason Boss Zhao personally delivered the goods was just because he found the young man agreeable, and since it wasn’t far, he considered it a leisure outing.

Jiang Yu thought about it and said, "Let’s settle it monthly then, settling daily would be too cumberso, and sotis when it’s busy, I can’t manage."

"Alright, anyway, the shop has detailed daily purchase lists, just confirm them yourself later."

After chatting a bit more, Boss Zhao got on his tricycle and went back to his shop.

Before leaving, he joked that he would definitely co and try Jiang Yu’s soup dumplings when he had ti. He wanted to see what kind of tradition-made buns could taste so good to sell so well.

Jiang Yu naturally nodded and agreed, telling him to call before he cos, so he could save a portion of soup dumplings for him.

Not long after Boss Zhao left, Hu Zhihai and Lu Shuwu arrived and, seeing Jiang Yu busy moving ingredients into the shop, they quickly stepped in to help.

Once all the ingredients were inside, Jiang Yu began handling them, blanching chicken racks and chicken feet before throwing them into a pot to make broth.

Lu Shuwu took the flour and started kneading dough.

Hu Zhihai, not idling, pulled over a small stool and began picking vegetables.

Jiang Yu, busy for a while, noticed that Lu Shuwu looked listless, yawning occasionally as he kneaded the dough.

He couldn’t help but ask, "Brother Xiao Wu, didn’t sleep well last night? Not used to it?"

"No."

"Then what happened?"

"Last night, I was sleeping fine, and in the middle of the night, Zhihai cos over to wake up, saying, ’Could you snore a little quieter? It’s disturbing .’"

Seeing Jiang Yu asking, Lu Shuwu couldn’t help but complain, looking aggrieved,

"I know that drinking makes snore. But controlling the volu of snoring, not just , even a god couldn’t do it!"
