"Lao Hu, you did a great job with this task!"
"Hehe, it’s rare to hear you praise ."
As soon as Hu Zhihai heard this, his face lit up with excitent. He then leaned in with an expectant look and asked,
"Since I handled the task well, could you make an extra dish for to try this afternoon?
Honestly, ever since you started cooking at the No. 7 dining room on the second floor, it’s been ages since I last tasted your cooking. I’m almost forgetting what it tastes like!"
"Alright, I’ll set aside a portion for you when I cook this afternoon."
Seeing the pitiful expression on Hu Zhihai’s face, Jiang Yu couldn’t help but laugh. He said,
"Consider this your reward. If you pass the graduate exam this year, I’ll throw you a feast!"
"You said it! A man’s word is his bond, and even four horses can’t chase it back!"
When Hu Zhihai heard this, his eyes instantly lit up, and he said excitedly,
"Just for that feast, I’ll work hard even if it ans shedding a layer of skin. I’ll strive to get into grad school!"
"Forget four horses, even eight horses can’t chase it back!"
Jiang Yu eyed Hu Zhihai and said with a smirk,
"It’s just a feast, nothing too significant. What you should be most concerned about is whether you can pass the graduate exam. That’s the key point."
"I’ve started reviewing early this year, and I’m working so hard. If I still don’t pass, where’s the justice?!"
Hu Zhihai snorted, suddenly rembered sothing, and said with great interest,
"Oh, and it’s less than a month until our thesis defense.
If I get into grad school, you’ll throw a feast. So shouldn’t you do sothing special for our graduation ceremony too, Lao Jiang?"
Jiang Yu glanced at him and asked, "What do you want to do?"
"Uh, forget about the other classmates. We hardly interact with them on a daily basis, my relationship with them is just so-so."
Hu Zhihai thought for a mont and said to Jiang Yu,
"But the four of us who’ve been roommates for more than three years will find it hard to et after graduation. Why don’t we sit down together after the graduation ceremony?"
"We’ll talk about it when the graduation ceremony cos."
Jiang Yu picked up a teacup from the table, took a sip, and said after so thought,
"If I’m not too busy that day, we can sit down for a bit."
He said as he stood up from his chair, brushed the dirt off his clothes, and said to Hu Zhihai,
"Alright, you’ve finished breakfast, so hurry back to the library and start studying! After lunch, just bring those patients and families over."
"Okay, I’ll head out then."
Hu Zhihai also stood up, grabbed his backpack from the side, and lanted,
"Reviewing for the grad school exam is truly torturous. Once is enough for a lifeti, never again."
Saying this, without waiting for Jiang Yu’s response, he slung his backpack over his shoulder and turned to leave the kitchen.
Watching his departing figure, Jiang Yu couldn’t help but smile.
Despite Hu Zhihai’s complaints, he actually found this review period quite fulfilling.
So much so that now, if he doesn’t go to the library to read for a day, he feels uncomfortable all over.
Regardless of whether he gets into grad school this ti, the habit of reading he’s developed in this process will benefit Hu Zhihai imnsely in the future.
After Hu Zhihai left, Jiang Yu stayed in the first-floor kitchen for a little longer. Seeing that it was about ti, he leisurely returned to the second floor.
Apart from the usual reserved private rooms for lunch today, he also had to prepare for a reception banquet, so he needed to get ready in advance.
