"What happened, why is there so much less of the chopped chili fish pieces?"

Hu Zhihai returned to the store with a bag of fresh ran, only to see that the plate of chopped chili fish pieces was noticeably less. His face instantly showed utter despair,

"Didn’t we agree to wait for to co back? I was only gone for a few minutes, and so much fish is gone! Where is the basic trust among people?!"

"What are you yelling about!"

Jiang Yu took the bag from his hand, shook out the fresh ran and put it into a pot of boiling water, giving him an amused glance and said,

"No one stole any, everyone is waiting for you."

"Impossible!"

Hu Zhihai was full of disbelief. He stared at the pieces of fish on the plate, counted them carefully, then looked up and confidently said,

"At least a third of the fish is missing!"

Jiang Yu, without turning his head, said, "Two teachers ca by, I packed so for them to take back and eat."

"..."

Hu Zhihai looked utterly grief-stricken.

He had taken great pains to guard against the people in the store from sneaking bites but didn’t account for outsiders coming in to snatch the food!

Jiang Yu couldn’t be bothered to pay attention to him and continued to stir the ran in the boiling water with his chopsticks.

Ran doesn’t need to cook for long, usually four to five minutes is enough, cooking too long would make it lose its chewiness.

Seeing the ti was about right, Jiang Yu turned off the heat, used chopsticks to lift the ran out, and directly put it into the spicy fish broth.

With the scorching ran, the spicy fresh aroma instantly wafted from the chili-laden fish broth, suddenly causing everyone in the store to start swallowing their saliva as all eyes turned over.

"What are you still looking at? Wash your hands and eat quickly, it’s already very late."

Seeing everyone looking greedy, Jiang Yu couldn’t help but laugh.

After placing the plate of chopped chili fish pieces in the center of the table, he took a pair of communal chopsticks, stirred the ran in the fish broth evenly, letting the noodles absorb the broth, then picked so to put into his own bowl.

Then, he sat down on the side with his bowl and started eating on his own.

The rest he couldn’t be bothered with, letting them grab for themselves.

Sure enough, as soon as Jiang Yu moved aside, Hu Zhihai and Lu Shuwu rushed over, grabbing chopsticks and starting a "battle."

After all, Yan Tongtong had been hanging out with them longer, though a bit timid, she couldn’t be bothered with that for food, braved her head, and rushed over, picking up "leftovers" amid their clash.

But Li Yue and Shen Deqing, embarrassed to join the fight, could only exchange helpless glances, watching enviously as Yan Tongtong got a big bowl of ran and fish pieces, giggling and slipped to the side to eat.

After a while, Hu Zhihai and Lu Shuwu’s "battle" finally ended, both with big bowls filled up, only then did they exchange cold snorts and turn to leave.

It wasn’t until then did Li Yue and Shen Deqing begin to "clean up the battlefield."

Speaking of "cleaning up the battlefield," it’s just a joke, honestly, there were plenty of fish pieces and ran left, even if Li Yue and Shen Deqing ate to their fill, they wouldn’t necessarily finish it.

The reason Hu Zhihai and Lu Shuwu were "fighting" was more for playfulness, to liven up the atmosphere.

Yan Tongtong and the others increasingly liked staying at the store, and this was probably one reason why.

After filling their bellies, everyone together cleaned inside and out, and then each returned to rest.

...

A few days passed in a flash.

In the office of the Logistics Departnt Head, Niu Wenlin sat there anxiously, seemingly waiting for sothing.

After a while, suddenly soone opened the door from the outside.

"Lao Niu, what’s up?"

Xiong Bingsheng walked in and plopped himself onto the sofa, casually took a teacup, rinsed it with hot water, then poured himself so tea leaves, making a cup of tea, as if it was his own ho.

Leaning back on the sofa, he asked leisurely,

"Didn’t you just treat to drinks a few days ago? What, want to treat again?"

"Haha, want to drink? That’s easy, I have a bottle of good wine I just brought back from a business trip."

Niu Wenlin wasn’t bothered by Xiong Bingsheng’s teasing, he leaned over, pulled out an unopened bottle of white wine from a small cabinet under his desk, and said with a smile,

"How’s this wine, not bad, right?"

Xiong Bingsheng looked at the brand and his eyes widened, pointing at Niu Wenlin, he said angrily:

"Lao Niu, Lao Niu, I thought of you as an old buddy. Last ti you said you were treating to drinks, and it turned out to be that hundred-sothing a bottle wine, the good wine was hidden away!"

"Why so angry? Didn’t I bring it out?"

Niu Wenlin smirked and continued,

"How about this, you go to Xiao Jiang’s store at the second cafeteria, get so stead chicken with chili sauce and chopped chili fish pieces. We don’t need to eat out, just drink here in the office. How about that?"

Honestly, ever since that evening eating the stead chicken with chili sauce and chopped chili fish pieces, Niu Wenlin hasn’t been able to forget it.

Moreover, just like Xiong Bingsheng said before, eating other people’s dishes is like chewing wax, no appetite at all.

But Xiong Bingsheng is heartless. He whet people’s appetites and then abruptly left hanging.

These days have been torturous for , several tis I wanted to rush into the second cafeteria to eat again on my way by, but in the end, I backed out.

No way, too thin-skinned, too embarrassed to line up with students to buy food, it would be so embarrassing if recognized.

Couldn’t bear it anymore, he could only personally call to invite Xiong Bingsheng over.

"No way."

Upon hearing this, Xiong Bingsheng imdiately shook his head and laughed,

"I was wondering why you’re so eager to treat again, turns out you’re craving Xiao Jiang’s food. If you’re craving it, go buy it yourself!"

"..."

Seeing Xiong Bingsheng like this, Niu Wenlin was at a loss.

If I could go buy it, wouldn’t I have already gone?

I am the school’s logistics departnt head after all. Those stall owners at the second cafeteria, which one doesn’t know ?

If they saw , wouldn’t I have no face left?

But you’re different, you’re much thicker-skinned, if I hadn’t stopped you that evening, you would have rushed into their store to snatch food!

For you to get so food from Xiao Jiang’s, isn’t that an easy task?

If it weren’t like this, did you think I would take out this good bottle of wine to share with you?

You wish!

Of course, these words Niu Wenlin could only say to himself, if he actually said it out loud, Xiong Bingsheng might turn against him on the spot.

After so thought, he could only force a smile and said,

"Oh co on, you’re familiar with Boss Xiao Jiang, going over there you wouldn’t even have to line up, if I went, they might not even recognize ..."

"I’m not going!"

Xiong Bingsheng shook his head like a rattle, with a face of indifference said,

"Getting free food once or twice is alright, but I can’t go there every so often to demand food.

Do you really think I have no sha?"
