Thousands of these demon beasts had surrounded the club. Although the electric fence was proving to be a hindrance, there was more than enough of them to take it down when the ti was right. At the mont, so of the stronger beasts and those with range, were shoot blasts at the buildings as though probing their structures. Such an attack was way outside the normal scope for these beasts.

’They have a leader?’ The four won thought at the sa ti. They had encountered and heard about waves in the past year, but nothing even close to this size scale.

As the girls looked on, they saw different beasts, so small, so as large as a two story house. The ape like creatures which shouldn’t have been found in this country were digging up large rocks and throwing them at the buildings. Normally, this wouldn’t cause any real damage. But with the speed the rocks were being thrown at combined with the glow the rocks gave off after being in the apes hands cause each one to be like the small explosive thrown at a high speed. Each ti it hit a building, large chunks of the wall would fall away.

They weren’t the only ones causing problems either.

There were quite a few snake like creatures who enjoyed spitting this acidic like substance over the fence as well, hitting buildings and burning holes through the outer layer. These guys were even more dangerous than the apes since they could burn a hole clean through in one go. Luckily there weren’t many of these special creatures either. For the most part, these dangerous types were few and far between and at most, level three.

The most challenging aspect of this wave was simply the sheer number of level one and two creatures that had charged forward. The Ivy sisters were all in the void palace stage which would be about the sa as a level four demon beast. Of course, a demon beast’s strength couldn’t just be asured by it’s level as different creatures had different strengths. That said, if enough level two demon beasts stord a void palace level person at the sa ti, their death would be assured. So even though the four girls had the advantage, they couldn’t stop this wave by themselves.

And they wouldn’t even if they could. Their only concern was Laz and maybe anyone he wanted to save.

Of course, escaping from the encirclent would be challenging, but still much easier than trying to resist the wave.

"We should prepare to leave," Pestilence said, turning her eyes back to her sisters.

"There is no point in fighting," Famine concurred.

"Master. We shall run you back to your room to prepare your things. Then we shall escape together. Would this young miss like an escort as well?" Death asked, looking at Lyssa.

"Uh... I can’t leave my group. I have friends here..." Lyssa said, not understanding why they were talking about leaving so soon. Afterall, she had heard about these waves as well and the military has always taken care of them quickly.

"I’m sorry to hear that. I wish you luck then," Death said, standing up and offering her hand to Laz who had sat down at so point while trying to understand.

"Won’t the military be able to fight these creatures off?" Lyssa asked, voicing her thoughts. She didn’t know why, but she trusted these won’s judgents.

"The soonest they will arrive with the type of backup they need will be tomorrow around noon at the latest. Even if they knew about this ahead of ti, they probably didn’t expect it to just happen like this. Normally, they would send out units to clear the area once they spotted a gathering. It’s impossible to hide a wave of this size. But since the animals are attacking anyway, that ans that either the units failed or they didn’t mobilize fast enough. Either way, by the ti they get here, most of the people in this compound will be dead," War said, the master of analysis in these kinds of situations.

"But what about the police...?" Lyssa said, still not understanding the situation.

"What would they even be able to do against a hoard of thousands of creatures? If they show up and start shooting, it would just an they would die faster. Chances are, the police are already setting up road blocks to prevent anyone else from coming here," War replied.

"I can’t just leave everyone here to die. So of these people are my friends..." Laz said as he rembered everyone he had t in the last year. Especially those like his friends Mike and Red.

How could he just run away and leave them to their fate?

"Master. We will take you out of here by force if we have to..." Famine threatened.

"It’s not going to matter anyway. Take a look..." Pestilence said, drawing everyone’s attention to the south, then west, east and north.

"Fuck," they all swore at once.

Laz got a beep on his phone, the one that he barely ever carried with him. The only reason he had it was because this one was his work phone and he needed it for password access and identification.

Currently, the phone was calling him as a backup mber of the security team to arm himself and get ready.

While the girls were still arguing about what to do and Lyssa was pacing back and forth, Laz got up and walked to the door. By the ti anyone noticed him, he had one foot in the hallway.

"Dean?"

"Sir?"

Lyssa and the girls asked at the sa ti.

"My friends are here. They have taken care of for the past year, even when I barely felt like living anymore. Do you have any idea how hard it is to live not even knowing who you are? One of my many jobs here is calling for so I am responding. You all can just go do what you’d like," Laz said as he closed the door behind him, leaving a room full of shocked individuals.

"Even when he has forgotten everything..." Famine started.

"He is still himself in the end," Pestilence finished in agreent.

"I’ll keep an eye on him. We have to keep him alive no matter what," War suggested.

"Then I’ll go try to get his stuff from his dorm," Death said as everyone was prepared to move.

"Do you even know where it is?" Lyssa asked Death.

"It can’t be that hard to find, can it?"

"I’ll show you the way. It’s not far but obviously we have to be outside," Lyssa suggested and Death agreed.

As the two ran off to Laz’s room, Laz got to the general armory located in the basent. He found several other mbers of the security team had already gathered here and they were surprised to see Laz as this building wasn’t one that he would typically be around.

"Dean? Why are you here?" Laz had accepted that his na used to be Laz, but everyone here knew him as Dean. As such, he didn’t even hesitate when he was called out too. Instead, he quickly found himself a rifle, an AR-15 and loaded up with extra ammo, grabbed a combat vest that quickly beca filled and even grabbed a hand gun and a baton. In the past this may have been the standard load out for military or police, even private companies kept this kind of armant in case of an attack.

"I was visiting with so friends who knew from out of town when the attack started and the call ca out. So I figured I would drop in here as opposed to trying to head to another building.

"Hey man. No worries and happy to have you. From the dispatch, it seems like the fence is holding, but they’re saying that it could be breached at any ti now," Bruce, the one speaking to Laz right now, was the one in charge of this building’s safety. For the most part, security at each residential building was handled by seven people, working in pairs. Sotis there would be only one security personal on when soone needed a day off, but that was rare and the schedule would be adjusted to maintain at least two at all tis.

It was only during tis of ergency that all seven would be called up at once.

Also, on the off chance that soone like Laz who was trained as a backup security guard was on the grounds during a disaster, they would be required to report in to whichever building they were currently in to serve as an additional mber. All this ant was that Bruce would communicate with central that Laz was here and would be joining their team.

Even though none of them knew what was going on, having extra help could only be considered beneficial and Laz had a good reputation around the club anyway.

As for Laz, he had just done this cause being a backup was good for a two dollar an hour raise once trained.

"So what’s our plan? Laz asked Bruce as everyone else gathered around to hear what their orders were.

"We are to stay in the lobby, lock the doors and drop the security gates. After that, we simply hold out until we receive updates and further orders while trying to keep the guests as calm as possible. Also, we will have patrol groups moving around from floor to floor to keep an eye on things. Although this serves little purpose considering the circumstances, it will help set the guests minds at ease which is far more important to the higher-ups," Bruce concluded. He then set about to assigning pairs while Laz, being the odd man out, would remain in the lobby for the ti being. Bruce would stay in his office while watching the main communication and events happening real ti. In essence, Bruce was like a team leader and it was important that he remain in contact with the other team leaders and central.

Laz had no problem with this assignnt since the others obviously knew each other better and had worked with each other far longer.

As such, Laz got the comfy job of sitting at the front security desk while watching the building’s cara’s while the others took turns patrolling. Bruce was in his own office off to the side of the lobby on his computer and phone at the sa ti. He also had access to all the caras Laz had, but obviously his attention wasn’t on them.

No one noticed War quietly sitting down in a chair in one of the gathering rooms. With the lights off, there was no way to tell if anyone was in there and she had co and gone so silently, it was impossible to have even noticed her presence.

The whole ti, her attention was fixated on Laz who was watching the caras and watching the gate covered glass doors.

As for Laz, he had a really bad feeling and he didn’t know why. Even though his head was racing due to the many events that had happened tonight, he was still able to focus on the mont and take his job seriously. Since a while ago, no one had co or gone from the building as far as security knew, so Laz had no idea that Lyssa and Death had sohow already left the building.

Laz couldn’t help but look at the doors and frown. The feeling inside was telling him that sothing was wrong, but he didn’t know what.

The outside was well lit and there were many caras to capture the situation outside the building. As far as Laz could see, it seed like a normal, quiet night without a creature or person in sight.

But that’s what felt the most wrong about it.

It was then that Bruce yelled out, "They broke through!!"

Even as his voice echoed out, Laz was standing up while using the desk as a stand and pointing his gun. Bruce quickly called for two of the three teams to et them in the lobby while the other team keep patrolling. It was imperative that the guests not be alard.

War stood up from where she was sitting as her eyes went to the door while a long spear appeared in her hand. Where she had gotten it from was a mystery.

Closing her eyes, she was able to sense that outside, there were dozens of beasts both large and small heading for the entrance after finding that it would be the quickest way inside. She then sent a ssage to her two sisters upstairs that they needed to hurry with the packing.

She felt that she would need their help before the night was over.

Just as this thought crossed her mind, the first beasts appeared within the lighting outside and charged at the glass entrance way, shattering it as they slled the scent of humans waiting on the other side.
