Laz joined Jill in the morning and they spent the ti the next few days just wandering around.

Laz didn’t see much of Ivana or Sylvia as they were busy organizing everything with their people. A guard still stood over the mansion of the first family, but there had been no activity since the night of Maia’s anger that destroyed the place, not that anyone thought they would show themselves either.

As for the rest of the group, they went along doing their own things, not that Laz knew what those things were. Besides a mild interest in Troy and the other werewolves, no one else really held any interest for him.

Well except for a few people. It seed like Shelby and Ruth had made up with Dave. Luckily for them, they all seed to be getting along now although how much they were getting along was anyone’s guess. But it seed like they were all going out together, so much so that people would whisper about so sort of three way relationship going on.

’Good for them,’ Laz thought to himself as he walked away from the ruined place with Jill a silent shadow behind him.

She didn’t speak, but Laz didn’t find that odd. Instead, most of the ti she seed to be lost in her own head. While that might of worried Laz in the past, he knew better now that it seed to be because she and her darker half were starting to openly communicate with each other, sothing Laz was glad to see.

Dark Jill, as Laz liked to call her since he didn’t know what other na to call her had experienced hell for many years, all to protect her innocent half. As for regular Jill, she had known about it and felt guilty, sothing her dark half had never intended. Due to that, a rift had ford between them, all be it a little one. While it wasn’t an issue, it could have been if left alone for two long.

Thanks to Laz’s accidental need of her dark side, Jill was finally forced to co face to face with this.

One night, as they lay in a private room that Laz had been given thanks to Sylvia, Jill got off her bed and slipped into bed with Laz who had awoken from her slumber. Her dirty blonde hair had turned black, a sure sign her other side had co out.

"What can I do for you?" Laz asked, moving his arm so she could slip in closer. Despite the things that had happened, Laz and Jill weren’t exactly in a relationship. More like, Jill needed Laz and he was just giving her the warmth she needed to stay sane. She was still young after all and her ntal health wasn’t good in the first place. Compared to the shit Laz had gone through back before he started his journey, hers could only be described as a living hell.

"I just needed this..." Dark Jill said, snuggling up close as she put her hand on Laz’s bare chest.

"Just this?" Laz wanted to confirm. While he wasn’t a sound sleeper and was alert even while doing so since he didn’t really need to sleep, he didn’t want sothing to happen that might cause a problem between them. Jill would have been too shy to try sothing again, but Dark Jill was another story.

"Just this," Dark Jill cooed, burying her head in Laz’s side and taking a deep breath.

"It relaxes to no end to sll you and touch you..." Jill said before licking him.

"And taste you..." Her purr deepened, but she didn’t go on this ti.

Laz just laid there and let her do these sowhat weird things. If this was what she needed, then so be it. She was already building her void palace and would be done before they left this place. The dark side of her, a product of her bloodline, was taking care of everything in that aspect while guiding Jill along the path they needed to take. When Laz had asked how she knew about all of this, Dark Jill just responded with ’It’s in our blood.’

Laz didn’t bother asking again as it seed like she wasn’t going to answer him.

"We’ve talked," Dark Jill finally said, after bathing Laz like a cat with her tongue in a strangely non sexual way.

"And?"

"And... We don’t know yet. We are two separate people despite occupying the sa body and yet we are still one person. Maybe one day, one of us will disappear. Maybe we will finally blend back together and be a person who is the whole of both of us. Neither of us is really sure what we want right now so instead, we will work together." Jill said, staring at Laz who was looking up at the white ceiling.

"You’ll be two contractors building the sa house together," Laz mused to which Dark Jill giggle.

"Interesting way to put it, but yes. I guess that’s it."

"There is nothing wrong with that. Back in the world we are returning to, there are ntal health professionals who would say otherwise, but that’s only if one were a normal human, sothing we aren’t. I won’t say anything about it but I also know that right now, you are the stronger personality. Which ant that if you wanted to swallow your other half, you could. As long as you’re choosing not to right now, I guess I can trust you to give her a fair chance in the future," Laz said, his icy blue eyes turning to look into her blackened ones.

"You know... it kind of scares when you talk like that... but it also excites at the sa ti... If you keep doing that, I might not be able to control myself," Dark Jill said, whispering sudectivly.

"Shut up and go to sleep already," Laz said, laughing a bit as he tightened his arm around her.

Laz never noticed the gentle smile on her face as her black hair faded and the dirty blond returned.

Jill could feel his warmth even with Dark Jill was in charge, but being suddenly thrust out like this wasn’t sothing she expected and almost cried out, causing her dark side to laugh in her mind.

’You did that on purpose,’ Jill said.

’Of course. You wouldn’t have been brave enough to do it on your own, would you?’ Dark Jill replied, still giggling.

’Do you think he knows?’ Jill asked her other self, suddenly turning serious.

’I’m not sure. I get the feeling of imnse strength from him but also a deep loneliness, which is weird considering how much those elves were all over him.’ Dark Jill responded, just as serious.

’He’s the only one we have... besides each other...’ Jill said back, closing her eyes as she snuggled deeper into Laz’s one arm embrace.

’For now. Who knows what the future holds though?’ Dark Jill asked.

’It doesn’t matter. Without him, we would still be in that place. So as long as he doesn’t throw us away... we won’t ever leave him...’ Jill’s breathing slowed and evened out.

’It’s only when it cos to him that you’re this firm. But I agree. So sleep tight little ..." Dark Jill said and retreated, allowing Jill to fall into slumber.

The next day was finally ti to leave. The entire race of the Forest adow Clan, as they liked to call themselves, had gathered at the massive field the gate was located in. Laz wondered just why it looked like they hadn’t brought anything along with them, but when he asked one of the near by attendants, he was told it was because everyone had space storage items, so of them being so big that their entire land could be put inside. As for the lower classes of people, their residences had been stored within Maia’s main body and could be brough out once the found a place to settle down.

It was only now that it hit Laz that he had no idea what they would do once they got outside. He wasn’t exactly sure, but an alien race of elf like beings showing up might not go over well with the already mistrustful and slightly crazy normal people in the outside world. What’s more, they were obviously creatures who’s energy was of a bloodline origin, which ant they would be considered infected if they were sohow caught and captured.

But that wasn’t sothing Laz could worry about. No matter what, he didn’t have the ability to handle settling down tens of thousands of people sowhere even if he wanted to. All he could do was grab the nearby attendant and warn her about the humans of earth. Although the attendant didn’t seem particularly worried, she had been told to report anything Laz brought up to the queen so she went off to do just that.

’I an, strength wise, unless they were hit by nukes or sothing, I’m not sure any force in the outside world could do anything to them, but it’s better to be safe than sorry,’ Laz thought wondering if he was over reacting.

The attendant returned a few minutes later with a ssage for Laz.

"My queen says you are right to be concerned, but that things had already been arranged and not to worry," the attendant repeated the ssage with a strange look on her face.

"What’s wrong?" Jill asked, seeing the look. She knew this particular attendant was close to Genevieve which was the only reason she was being so patient with Laz in the first place. No one else really knew of his connection to Sylvia, Ivana and Maia except for Genevieve so although they thought better of Laz for fighting for them, they still didn’t think the human was anything more than a sowhat stronger human.

"It’s nothing little one. It’s just strange. If it’s as dangerous as you say, then how exactly has it been taken care of? It’s not like we have any sort of connection to anyone on the other side of the gate?" The attendant answered back, obviously at ease around Jill.

"That’s exactly what we have so no worries!’ Genevieve said, walking up along side her friend.

"Oh. My princess. I didn’t know you were here." The attendant made to bow, but Genevieve stopped her.

"Enough of that for now. My mother wanted to tell you to be ready. We should have so people waiting for us on the other side, but she’s worried that the traitors might use this ti to make a move. My mother wants to request you to stay behind and cover us... if you don’t mind?" Genevieve asked, sowhat uncomfortably. After all, if anything happened, it would put Laz in harms way.

"Of course. I don’t mind," Laz said and began walking towards the back of the queue with Jill following.

"Why would her highness ask this of him," the attendant said once Laz had left.

"I’m not sure. But she must have her reasons..." Genevieve said, staring after Laz.

As Laz stood watching, Maia walked over to the massive door and gripping it with both hands, she swung it wide up, much to the cheering of the crowd. Like a big wave, the people began going through it in groups after Sylvia and Ivana lead the way.

Laz had no idea what was happening on the other side as he kept his senses firmly on the surroundings.

Much to his surprise, after there was only a few hundred people left, there was still no trouble. As the attendant had been waiting with them, who Laz found out went by the na Jenna, pointed out, ’it was way too quiet.’

Just as the last of the people were leaving with a single squad of troops behind them, Laz made his way to the gate as well.

"Still nothing huh?" Laz said as he turned around for one final ti.

"Let’s go," the attendant said before walking through the gate.

Laz didn’t move right away though after she left and instead, bent down to pick up so of the dirt. As Jill looked on, the dirt slipped between Laz’s fingers and disappeared. It didn’t blow away or drop to the ground, it simply vanished.

Looking around, Laz saw the massive tree in the distance fade as well, as though it blinked out of existence. Once that happened, everything else began to fade as well as darkness closed in on them.

"What’s happening?" Jill asked, half scared and half intrigued.

"The death of a dinsion," Laz mused with a smile. He then reached down to take Jill’s hand and without looking back, walked through the gate.

The first thing that greeted him on the other side was the massive yellow sun, blinding them with it’s radiant light.
