Lucien's POV
I looked at the body of another monster I had slain. It too was at Initiate Rank, but it was a lot harder to defeat than the previous one.
I got the notification of points added to my score.

I imdiately looked at the leaderboard to see my rank…

There was no change in ranking except the points. I was still in third place, and the ti was almost up.
I gritted my teeth. Ti was almost up, and my gar instincts scread at not to fail this damn quest.
But I knew realistically it was difficult for to rank first.
There was no chance I could defeat another Initiate Rank monster in the little ti I had left.
I could try finding other students, but I knew that too was more difficult than being said.

I refused to give up.
I wasn't the type to give up without trying.... I soon went deeper in the forest, hoping to find another student, as only that could help bridge the gap.
But before I could find anyone, my body was covered in warm light as I was teleported away, signalling the end of the test.
I was soon back at the orientation hall…where the test had started.

I felt my stats halving in real ti as my body felt weak…. unnaturally so.
My body felt sluggish as if underwater.
'Urgh ' This was worse than I expected.
But before I could adapt to my decreased stats, I felt a tangible pressure on my body.
I turned my head in the direction from where I felt it.
I saw the principal of the academy there sitting casually as he looked at every student.
Soon his eyes paused on . I felt the pressure on intensify.
Dangerous.
I felt a shiver run down my spine as I t his abyssal black eyes.
For a mont I felt small, like a small insect that he could crush with a snap of his fingers.
It felt as if he could see through my soul.
As if all my secrets were laid bare before his eyes.
For the first ti since coming to this world, I felt true fear.
I quickly averted my eyes, not being able to look directly at him.
Soon the pressure was lifted a bit as his eyes shifted to the next student.
He completed his short speech, which I couldn't focus on due to the incident just before.
I didn't even raise my head all that ti. Not out of respect but out of fear that he will look at again.
Only after he left did I raise my head again as I heaved a sigh of relief.
I looked at the position where the principal stood just the mont before. Although I felt fear, now there was another emotion.
Excitent.
One day, I will surpass him.
I felt excited to know that one day I would surpass such power. At that ti I will also be looking down at people like the principal had been a mont ago.
And when that ti cos, I won't be the one averting my eyes, but the principal will have to be the one to avert his eyes.
The thought sent a thrill through my body. I felt a smirk creep on my face as I was lost in my ambitions.
But just as I was thinking, my eyes wandered off to a particular place where I saw a beautiful woman.
She was beautiful enough to daze anyone.
But ?
I felt a chill run down my spine as I looked at her. She was my twin sister—Amyra Celestrian.
Her eyes were focused on sothing, or rather, soone with an intensity I had never seen before.
She had the fiercest expression I had seen, at least from the mories I inherited.
Suddenly she turned as her eyes t mine.
My body froze on the spot.
Shit...shit...shit.
My body started shivering uncontrollably.
I felt more fear from her than even from the principal, who stood at the pinnacle of power within the Empire just behind my father.
It made no sense, but my body scread at to run away.
'Calm down….damn it I need to calm down.' I scread at my body, but it was of no use.
Thankfully, Amyra soon turned around to leave; only after I saw her exit the hall did my shivering stop.
'F*ck, that was scary…too scary.'
'I don't want to be anywhere near her.'
I wiped the cold sweat on my forehead as I regained my cool.
Just as I was about to leave, I heard a voice from behind .
"Hello, Your Highness," a girl called .
I turned around to look who it was, and my mind stopped working.
I saw a beautiful girl with golden blonde hair and red eyes greeting with a polite bow.
She was stunning. More beautiful than any models I had seen in my previous life.
'How could soone be so beautiful? ' My heart was racing as I felt a tingling sensation spread throughout my whole body.
Why was she talking to ?
'Haha, she must've fallen for my looks.' The thought popped up in my mind.
That must be it.
"Just Lucien is fine, after all, we are both going to be students of the academy." I replied, trying to be as cool as possible.
She tilted her head innocently as she looked at with her cute red eyes.
"How could I? Your highness is the imperial prince."
"It's fine, I don't mind…I am giving you permission." I replied, my voice breaking slightly as I looked at her cute face.
She looked too innocent and fragile, like soone to be protected in this cruel world.
'She needs to be protected at any cost.'
"By the way, who are you?" I asked, as I didn't know who she was.
"I am Seles Draven, Your Highness—I an L-lucien." She hesitated a little as she called my na.
I had heard the na Draven before…They were one of the five ruling families of the Empire.
The old Lucien had been taught about the political situation of the empire, but he had just ignored it at that ti.
And I hadn't cared enough to check much either. So I didn't know anyone from influential families.
"Can I ask for your contact, Your…I an Lucien" . Seles asked in a hopeful voice, her head still tilted cutely like a little bunny.
I had seen many girls act cute in my previous life, but she did not act at all…. She was just naturally cute.
"Yeah, sure." I quickly pulled out my ManaSync as our device beeped, our contact information being exchanged.
"Thank you, Lucien," Seles said this ti not with a shudder but with a warm smile on her face. A blush appeared on her face.
My heart lted as I saw her smile.
I had never felt anything like this before, but I knew one thing: 'I'm going to protect her at any cost.' I made up my mind to protect her no matter what.

I watched the back of the third prince, who was leaving after our little talk.
How amusing.
He was called unworthy, but I have to say he was far from being such. I had seen him fight an Initiate Rank monster with ease.
So I tried to talk to him and befriend him.
But I didn't think he would be so naive.
Just a little cute girl act, and I could already feel his emotions to protect .
'Haha, he was too gullible fool.'
'If only everyone was like him.'
At first I just wanted to befriend him… but after seeing his personality and power, I think I could use him for a bit more.
'Well, I should also get going.'
I smiled.
'The academy is going to be interesting.'
