Alden quickly got out of his training room and headed straight for the shower.
Only after scrubbing off every trace of the dirt on him did he step out, feeling refreshed.
'Now I feel good.'
He got dressed swiftly.
After getting dressed, he hopped onto his bed, his eyes shining with excitent.
He had been waiting for this mont.
'Status.'
The familiar blue screen popped up in front of him.
He hadn't checked his status since the world announcent incident.

==========
A smirk appeared on Alden's lips as he scanned his stats.
Everything was good, but what really stood out was his intelligence and endurance reaching F rank.
His body felt light, brimming with energy.
He had finally stepped into the realm of the superhuman.
Novice Rank was still within the realm of normal humans.
But the Initiate Rank?
That was where things changed.
He clenched his fist and lightly punched the air.
A faint shockwave spread outward.
Still weaker than the one Zephyr had released during the academy entrance test… But he was getting there.
Now, for the best part.
Alden focused on his Mana To.
A new screen appeared.
=======

=====
Alden's eyes focused on the new spell.
Shadow Stealth?
He wasn't too excited.
It was a standard ability that most people at his level could use.
Still, he opened his spell nu to check its details.
=====

====
Alden quickly activated Shadow Stealth to test its effect.
Imdiately, his own shadow coiled around him, clinging to his body like a second skin.
He didn't feel much different.
'I'll have to test it against soone to know how much harder it is to detect.'
His other two spells had already entered the apprentice mastery stage, but progressing through it was proving to be much harder than he had thought previously.
'At least I'm improving steadily.'
Satisfied for now, he closed the spell window and turned his attention to sothing far more exciting—his sword.
He had received a notification that a new effect had been unlocked.
Alden pulled out the Sword of Chaos, gripping the hilt as another window popped up.
=======
[Sword of Chaos]
[Description—A sword forged by ▒▒▒, the greatest blacksmith of ▒▒▒▒▒▒, using the Chaos.]
[Effect (1/2)—The sword can be transford into any form that the user wills instantly.]
[Effect (2/2) - Can ignore any physical or magical defence of the opponent to deal damage. Cooldown: 1 hour]
Chaos Weapon Art—The user can inherit the lost Chaos Weapon Art after completing the trial. (This effect will vanish once used.)
========
Alden blinked.
What the heck is this now?
He reread the third effect.
Chaos Weapon Art?
He had no idea whatsoever what that was, but from the way it was phrased…
He frowned.
"After completing the trial."
That part felt ominous to him.
Trials never ant anything good.
His previous experience about the trial was warning him about it, screaming DANGER.
But at the sa ti… he had been thinking about changing his sword art for a while now.
Eternal Flow sword art is strong and good, but it's not compatible with .
It had started to feel wrong lately.
Like he was forcing his body to follow the movents.
And this?
This could be his opportunity to get a good weapon art with a cool na.
Even if it looked incredibly risky.
It was worth it if the sword art is as good as it seems from its na.
Alden took a deep breath.
But not now.
'I am going to do it eventually—but first, I have to prepare so things.'
'No way am I going to walk into another trial blindly.'
Alden had been traumatised by the trial, and that made him very cautious before attempting this one.
He stored his sword back in his mana core and glanced back at his status window.
Because now?
Now it was ti for the real best part.

Alden quickly scanned his subskills.
Most of his subskills had not changed from before except for so changes in their duration and increased range.
But there was one major change.
Soul storage was gone.
It was now replaced by a cool but ominous-sounding skill—Abyssal Soul.
Alden felt an eerie feeling looking at the 1% mark in his skill na.
What does that even an?
What will happen once it reaches 100%?
He quickly focused on description.
He still couldn't read a few parts.
It was similar to what happened with the Sword of Chaos. The words were there, but he couldn't comprehend what was written.
'Another mystery is just what I need.' Alden thought sarcastically before he looked at the end of the description.
And What the heck is that '▒▒▒▒▒ Trial'?
'Not another trial.'
'Why are they haunting now?'
Alden couldn't help but curse.
He let out a long sigh and collapsed onto his bed, staring at the ceiling.
So.
'A new skill with a mystery percentage, a trial I didn't sign up for, and a sword with another ominous trial.'
'Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.'
He felt like so cosmic force was laughing at him to see him suffer.
'Am I so kind of character in a cliché story or what?'
'If I am indeed.'
'Then f*ck you, author.'
'If you are writing about my suffering right now, I am going to do whatever it takes and find you.'
'And once I do….you better wish you would have done a better job and killed off in so trial because… I will… I will leave it to you to imagine what I will do.'
'F*ck, my mind is going to another realm now.'
Alden reeled in his intrusive thoughts, which were going out of control a lot more nowadays.
His thoughts drifted back to the Abyssal Soul skill.
A skill that wasn't fully unlocked, that had a trial system attached to it, and that carried an eerie sense of foreboding.
The fact that so parts of the description were cryptic wasn't reassuring either.
Alden groaned, rubbing his temples, feeling a headache coming his way.
"Why is everything in my life trying to be cryptic?"
At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if Limitless Ascension straight-up started whispering riddles in my sleep.
"Alden…Alden…"
Alden suddenly heard a sound.
'The heck? Is it happening for real now?'
'But why is the voice similar to Aziel's?'
"Hey bro, open the door." He heard the voice again coming from the door to his room.
It wasn't the voice of Limitless Ascension, it was really Aziel who had just arrived.
Alden opened the door.
Aziel was standing there tapping his feet on the floor as if in a hurry to rush sowhere.
"Hurry, bro…let's go." Aziel pulled him, urging Alden to follow him sowhere.
"What's happening?" Alden asked.
"Bro, the Third Prince is having a ranked match against Zephyr," Aziel said.
"What now?"
'F*ck, the day just keeps getting worse.'
'F*ck you, author…'
