The fire burned through the entire second half of the night. By the morning, when the sun ca up, the wild grass and trees around the abandoned buildings were mostly burned away.
The taller trees now only had scorched trunks remaining.

Su Wen and Secretary Lin first went to Lin’s office.

In Lin’s office, an elderly man dressed in a black long gown, wearing a hat, and sturdy reading glasses, along with a young man in a suit, were waiting.
The elderly man was a descendant of Lai Buyi, already in the 35th generation. He could tell fortunes and practice Feng Shui, mostly serving the wealthy by providing fortune-telling and Feng Shui consultations.
Yesterday, when Secretary Lin approached him about Su Group’s auctioned property and their request for him to visit, he knew what it was about.
He was familiar with the situation of those abandoned buildings and the old real estate company from years ago.
Nevertheless, with so many years passed, he hadn’t expected the Su Family and Su Group to acquire it through auction.
Initially intent on refusing, he was persuaded by Secretary Lin.
He also found a big red envelope on his desk, placed there by Lin’s disciple unbeknownst to him, so he felt compelled to go.
Ultimately, he knew he had to see for himself to understand the current situation.
