Chapter 1393: Chapter 1392: Temple Fair

Today is New Year’s Eve, and this small supermarket still has plenty of custors coming to shop. Now, these three newly hired cashiers are learning and helping out.

With three cashiers here, Zhang Yuehong no longer needs Liu Lingxiu to help.

“Lingshow, you and Ye Qiu should go out and have fun!”

Liu Lingxiu didn’t know where Ye Qiu had been these past few days, only that he went to see a friend. Of course, there are many things Ye Qiu couldn’t tell her.

Ye Qiu and Liu Lingxiu left Daqing Supermarket and got into the car. Ye Qiu drove away from there, heading towards the Qinhuai River.

He thought that during the New Year, the population in Jinling would decrease and traffic would be smoother, only to find out there were still as many people as usual.

When Ye Qiu drove to the parking lot outside the Qinhuai River, it was almost full.

Jinling is an ancient capital of six dynasties, with many tourist attractions. So, during the New Year, while so people working in Jinling might return to their hotowns, many tourists flood in.

Now, upon reaching the Qinhuai River, Ye Qiu realized it was just like that.

Holding Liu Lingxiu’s hand, as they entered the Qinhuai River area, Ye Qiu found the place filled with the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival, with lanterns hung everywhere.

Inside, there were significantly more foods and items for sale than usual, plus many snacks and stall items.

The City God Temple is near the Qinhuai River, and every year during the Spring Festival, it’s the busiest ti at the temple fair, similar to attending a country fair.

Now, walking forward from the Qinhuai River, it was shoulder to shoulder with people, but given the season, despite the crowd, the cold made it bearable.

As Liu Lingxiu followed Ye Qiu, she realized she had been here many tis with him but rarely just the two of them.

After walking quite a distance, hearing the drums in the distance, Ye Qiu led Liu Lingxiu towards the sound. Indeed, today was the first day of the temple fair at the City God Temple, with all sorts of novel things.

In fact, many things you wouldn’t usually see were available today.

“So many things I saw during my childhood, but I haven’t seen for years either,”

said Liu Lingxiu, pulling Ye Qiu to a stall selling sugar figures.

“Do you want to eat this?”

The sugar figure looks nice, but tastes just like sweet maltose. Still, many children love it, and the stall easily sells several hundred a day.

“I’m just looking; I don’t want to eat.”

Liu Lingxiu said.

She recalled that before she could speak as a child, her parents brought her here a few tis, but after losing her ability to speak, she hadn’t been back.

Unexpectedly, seeing the lively temple fair again, she was genuinely joyous.

The two continued walking forward and saw a ring toss ga stall ahead. On a cloth laid out were about twenty to thirty little trinkets ant for children to play with.

Now, each ring costs two yuan, and if you ring a trinket, it’s yours.

Ye Qiu noticed these items obviously ca from a two-yuan store and weren’t worth much, but kids loved playing, finding joy in the ga itself.

Not caring if they actually hook anything, the fun is just in playing.

“Do you want to try?”

Ye Qiu asked.

“I’m too clumsy; I probably won’t get even one,”

Liu Lingxiu replied.

Standing two ters away trying to ring those small items really depends on luck.

“Fifty rings!”

Ye Qiu took out a hundred yuan and handed it to the stall owner.

The owner accepted and handed fifty rings to Ye Qiu, who gave five to Liu Lingxiu.

“Then I’ll really play.”

Liu Lingxiu targeted a porcelain little rooster she wanted to hook.

But as expected, when she tossed the ring, it didn’t even co close to hooking it.

The next few throws were the sa.

Liu Lingxiu knew it wasn’t that easy after all.

The surrounding children and adults watching for fun already knew it would be like that.

“Try a few more,”

Ye Qiu handed Liu Lingxiu another ten rings, but she couldn’t ring the closest ones.

To the stall owner and other custors, this young man was just giving them money.

At this mont, Liu Lingxiu felt a bit embarrassed and said to Ye Qiu, “I really can’t do it.”

“Boss, if I manage to ring everything here, what will you do?”

“Of course, you’d get everything as a gift!”

The stall owner said straightforwardly.

These items were strategically cost-controlled, making them highly profitable.

So, he wasn’t afraid at all of soone ringing them all. Even if a few were rung, he still profited well.

“Alright, let’s see.”

What might be challenging for ordinary people wasn’t so for Ye Qiu.

On his first toss, he hooked the little porcelain rooster that Liu Lingxiu had wanted.

“Ye Qiu, you really hooked it!”

Liu Lingxiu exclaid happily.

The stall owner was montarily stunned, then figured this young man must have incredible luck.

After retrieving the rooster for Liu Lingxiu, he replaced it with another trinket.

Ye Qiu picked up another ring and tossed it, quickly hooking another trinket.

At this point, Liu Lingxiu was even happier, feeling Ye Qiu was amazing!

The stall owner could only bring out the items, his expression still the sa.

By the tenth toss, having rung all the interesting trinkets and noticing the stall owner’s increasingly pained expression, Ye Qiu didn’t stop with the remaining rings.

He tossed three at once, hooking all three trinkets simultaneously.

The stall owner looked at Ye Qiu with a look as if he had seen a ghost; who was this young man, and how was he so skilled?

If this continued, he wouldn’t be able to do business today?

Ye Qiu took the hooked items out and handed them directly to the children watching.

After using all the rings, ringing a round of items, other children brought their rings over for him to toss. Seeing this, the stall owner looked at Ye Qiu with pleading eyes.

Ye Qiu didn’t intend on driving the stall owner out of business. Having played enough, it was all for fun.

“That’s it for today, no more,”

he said. When Liu Lingxiu handed out the trinkets, keeping only the little rooster, Ye Qiu led her away. The stall owner breathed a sigh of relief, and the other children cheered.

Liu Lingxiu truly felt happy just now, like she was six or seven again, here at the temple fair with her parents.

But now, she was happiest because what Ye Qiu did was solely to make her happy, and that was what made her the happiest.
