Chapter 1408: Chapter 1407: The Black Death
Fifteen minutes later, the waitress started bringing over the dishes Ye Qiu had just ordered, and Ye Qiu, along with Louise and the other two won, began to eat.
Zhou Wenting and Song Ying were still a bit worried about Ye Qiu drinking like that. Would it cause any issues?

It might take another two hours to return to Eastern Castle.
Once in the car, Ye Qiu drove towards a large shopping mall.
This mall wasn’t duty-free, but Ye Qiu felt that things here were actually cheaper than those in the duty-free shops, clearly intending to rip off dostic tourists.
Here, there were all sorts of clothes, shoes, bags, costics, and jewelry that girls liked.
Originally, Song Ying wanted to buy a few outfits here, but now she definitely wasn’t going to, because Ye Qiu could design them himself. Why spend that money?
After all, she did buy a lot of the things her sister-in-law asked her to at this place.
Around five in the afternoon, when they ca down from the large shopping mall and got into the car, Ye Qiu felt soone following him, but he didn’t pay it any mind.

Ye Qiu really wasn’t afraid of these petty thugs.
Once in the car, driving the Bentley, Ye Qiu quickly lost the people following him.
When they returned to Eastern Castle, it was around seven in the evening.
The night had already fallen, and Housekeeper Eugene and the servants at Eastern Castle were leading Ye Qiu and the three young ladies back.
Seeing Ye Qiu parking the car, Housekeeper Eugene hurried over to see if there was anything to carry.
Since all three won had bought things, when the servants ca over to help carry them up, Ye Qiu headed towards the dining room and asked, “Is dinner ready?”
“Young Master Ye, everything is ready.”
The middle-aged couple, upon learning that Ye Qiu wanted to eat hot pot, had prepared all the ingredients and sauces, just waiting for the four of them to return and eat.
Now, seeing Ye Qiu, they greeted him, “Young Master Ye, everything is ready.”
“Then serve it up.”
Ye Qiu still felt it was more comfortable to have hot pot after a bath.
Otherwise, he’d end up sweating from the heat.
With the middle-aged couple and servants helping to prepare the hot pot ingredients, nearly twenty types of at and vegetables were laid out on the table when Song Ying ca down, equally surprised.
The luxurious lights were hanging above the dining room, while they ate hot pot below. She couldn’t quite believe it, and when taking photos to send back to her family, Song Ying felt that this trip with Ye Qiu was really worth it.
However, she was worried about the noise she heard last night and the sleep paralysis she experienced.
Now, sitting down, Ye Qiu asked Housekeeper Eugene to bring over three or four bottles of red wine and suggested Eugene join them for the al.
The hot pot broth heated up, giving off a fragrance, as they added their favorite ingredients into it.
Ye Qiu, Louise, the two other won, and Housekeeper Eugene chatted while eating.
By nine in the evening, the al was very filling.
Ye Qiu went out for a walk in the courtyard outside and noticed that there was no moonlight tonight, plus it felt damp, hinting at rain in Paris.
This season, Paris typically had more rainfall.
If that was the case, it might be a bit difficult for Ye Qiu to cultivate.
On returning upstairs in the castle, Song Ying had already moved in to share a room with Zhou Wenting, while Louise returned to her own room. Originally, she had her own room, but because Zhou Wenting was afraid, they had slept together.
Now, Ye Qiu headed to the bathroom for a shower and just as he took off his clothes, there was a knock on the door. At first, he thought it was a servant elder lady, but surprisingly, it was Louise.
“Louise, what’s the matter?”
“Would you like to assist you in bathing?”
Last ti, at Eastern Castle, Ye Qiu had already been assisted by her once.
Of course, Louise had an agenda then.
“No need,” Ye Qiu said.
“Then I’ll wait for you in the room!”
After Louise left, Ye Qiu was curious about what this little seductress intended. Given her status as the eldest daughter of a prominent family, she wouldn’t act recklessly.
After bathing, wearing a robe and comfortably returning to the room, Ye Qiu indeed found Louise sitting there.
“Have you been reading here all along?”
Louise was quite surprised to see that Ye Qiu was reading a book on Middle Ages religious practices in an obscure language, seemingly finishing it in a short span.
“Whenever I have ti, I take a look. You can tell how serious the Black Death was back then.”
“Many parts might be fabricated,” Louise said.
In the Middle Ages, the eruption of the Black Death, known today as the plague, led to many deaths across Europe. About two-thirds of the population died from the Black Death, which spread to South Arica and Africa, causing nurous deaths there too.
Unexpectedly, Louise ntioned that so of the records might be fake. How could that be?
“Are you referring to the records in the book or the Black Death itself?”
“Both,” Louise replied.
This topic was sothing Louise was reluctant to discuss, as it related to her faith. But now with Ye Qiu asking, she sat and began talking about it.
However, last ti at Eastern Castle, Ye Qiu absorbed too much soul consciousness, spanning a hundred or even a thousand years, which included the Middle Ages. In his mind, everything was very clear.
After Louise talked for a while, Ye Qiu found discrepancies between what he gathered from soul consciousness and what she said. Could it be that Louise was lying, or was the situation back then not as simple as imagined?
“Are you sure you haven’t been deceiving ?”
“Qiu, why would I lie to you?” Louise said.
Apart from not having given herself to Ye Qiu, her mind was entirely on him.
“If that’s the case, then it’s puzzling.”
Of course, Ye Qiu knew that what Louise and her kind believed in wasn’t as simple as he imagined, just like he knew what lay at the top floor of Eastern Castle.
