Ye Qiu still wanted to take Liu Lingshow out to eat sothing, but unexpectedly, the little brother-in-law of Mr. Li got into trouble, so Ye Qiu had to go to the Affiliated Hospital and take a look first.

"Lingshow, let’s go to the Affiliated Hospital first; there’s a patient with ALS."

At this mont, in a high-end single room in the Affiliated Hospital, a man in his thirties was lying there, with Li Hui, his wife Jiang Xiu, and his daughter Li Qing watching over him.

Both Jiang Xiu and Li Qing had clearly just cried, their expressions not looking good.

The man on the hospital bed was Jiang Xiu’s brother, Jiang Dawei. So ti ago, he found that his body seed unwell; when he ate, his chopsticks would suddenly fall from his hand for no reason.

At first, he didn’t pay attention to it, thinking it was just sudden weakness in his hands. Unexpectedly, it beca more and more apparent; not only did his hands have this problem, but his legs also began to show similar symptoms of weakness and tremor.

When he went to the hospital for examination, it quickly beca clear that these were early symptoms of motor neuron disease, also known as ALS.

This disease is chronic and can flare up over several years, or even over a decade. However, if it mutates during flare-up and becos severe, it could lead to death.

Moreover, the disease is currently considered a terminal illness, almost impossible to cure, and can only be controlled and alleviated by specialized Western dicine.

When Li Qing’s parents brought Jiang Dawei here, Li Hui happened to et Zhou Peng, Dean Zhou. Zhou Peng heard that his brother-in-law had ALS, although it was just in the early stages.

However, having this disease is almost like a terminal illness, which makes patients feel worse than death, so it’s better to be treated quickly.

Zhou Peng knew that many rare diseases and terminal illnesses in the world couldn’t be cured by other doctors, but there was soone who could, and that was Ye Qiu.

Hence, Zhou Peng asked Li Hui to call Ye Qiu directly. After all, Ye Qiu had treated Li Qing’s rabies before.

After calling Ye Qiu, Li Hui said, "Don’t worry, I’ve just called Dr. Ye; he’s coming. If Dr. Ye can’t do anything, I’ll arrange for Dawei to receive treatnt abroad."

To Li Hui, spending money on treating his brother-in-law was no big deal.

Even if it ant hiring soone for 24-hour care, he had the money.

The best option would be to cure it once and for all.

"Dad, are you saying Ye Qiu is coming?" Li Qing asked.

"Of course, it’s him."

Ye Qiu’s dical skills are now widely recognized. Although nobody knows how he cures people, his treatnts indeed lead to real recovery.

Ye Qiu parked his car in the parking lot outside the Affiliated Hospital, got out with Liu Lingshow, and went into the lobby. Ye Qiu called Li Hui back.

"Mr. Li, I’m on the first floor; which room are you in?"

When Li Hui heard that Ye Qiu was in the first-floor lobby, he quickly gave the room number. Ye Qiu and Liu Lingshow took the elevator up.

When they arrived at the door of the high-end hospital room, Ye Qiu hadn’t knocked yet when a tall girl opened the door; it was Li Qing, whom he treated last ti.

"Ye Qiu, you’ve co."

Li Qing was surprised to see a beautiful girl around her age beside Ye Qiu.

"This is my girlfriend Liu Lingshow. This is Miss Li, who had a strange illness that I cured last ti," Ye Qiu said.

After the introduction between Liu Lingshow and Li Qing, they went inside, where Ye Qiu saw Li Hui and his wife were present.

Li Hui’s expression was normal, but Jiang Xiu and Li Qing looked visibly shaken, obviously frightened by Jiang Dawei’s illness.

"Dr. Ye, you must save my brother; he’s still young," Jiang Xiu pleaded.

"Mrs. Li, don’t worry; if I can treat it, I will certainly cure it, unless it’s truly incurable."

Ye Qiu went over to check on Jiang Dawei, the man in his thirties on the hospital bed, who was also Li Qing’s uncle. His hands and legs were weak but still looked relatively normal.

However, when eating, his chopsticks would sotis beco unstable, and occasionally his legs would suddenly lose strength as if the power went out, causing him to sit down and take a long ti before possibly getting back up.

Ye Qiu knew these were early symptoms of ALS.

According to Ye Qiu’s understanding, the first stage of ALS, the symptom onset period, is characterized by sudden inability to hold chopsticks or unexplained stumbling, with no clear symptoms.

At this ti, tests like electromyography, nerve conduction velocity, and MRI are needed for diagnosis by a neurologist.

In the second stage, the work difficulty period, there’s clear weakness or atrophy in the hands and feet, creating obstacles in the workplace while daily living can still be self-managed. At this ti, more rest is needed to prevent the disease from aggravating, and an assessnt by a rehabilitation physician is essential to provide necessary rehabilitation.

More severely, the third stage, the difficulty in daily living period, occurs in the mid-disease phase with serious hand or foot disabilities, or both, making daily living unmanageable, like difficulty walking, dressing, or picking up chopsticks, plus slightly unclear speech.

Even more severe, the fourth stage, the swallowing difficulty period, has entered the late-mid phase; speech is severely unclear, limbs are almost completely weak, and fluid food easily causes choking during als. If no nasogastric tube is inserted for feeding, aspiration pneumonia often occurs.

In the final phase, the breathing difficulty period, if patients choose a tracheostomy at the ti of breathing difficulty, they will no longer be able to leave the ventilator and need care at a regional respiratory treatnt center or ho care. If not choosing a tracheostomy, they should have care from a hospice team.

But basically, people suffer endlessly, only waiting for death in agony.

Seeing Ye Qiu perform the examination on her uncle and staying silent, Li Qing asked, "Ye Qiu, how is my uncle?"

"I haven’t spoken yet; what are you worried about?"

Actually, there’s nothing much to worry about; for other doctors, it might be really difficult to treat, but for Ye Qiu, it’s not much.

"Really?" Li Qing hastily asked.

"Dr. Ye, the cost of treatnt is not an issue as long as my brother-in-law’s disease can be cured." Li Hui chid in.

Actually, regarding Jiang Dawei’s condition, Ye Qiu knew well what was causing it. However, he wanted to try and see if he could treat it using his thod.

"Please step outside; I’ll give him a try and see."

Ye Qiu wasn’t worried about not being able to cure it but was concerned about the possibility of recurrence, as this might be different from other causes.

Even with cancers, Ye Qiu could completely absorb those cancer cells and viruses, but this isn’t that kind of illness.

When Li Hui, his wife, Li Qing, and Liu Lingshow went out of the hospital room, only Ye Qiu and Jiang Dawei remained inside.

"Sir, please close your eyes; I’ll try to treat you."

Jiang Dawei closed his eyes. He thought Ye Qiu might use acupuncture or so other treatnt, but since Ye Qiu treated his niece Li Qing’s rabies during the paralyzing phase, he trusted this young man could cure his illness.
