When Ma Wenwen went to take a shower, Ye Qiu turned on the TV outside, finding that all the channels were from The East Ocean, and there was nothing much to watch.
After Ma Wenwen finished her shower, Ye Qiu planned to have a al with her at the hotel, and then accompany Akino and the others to so place called Autumn Mountain in The East Ocean.
The two took the elevator down to the restaurant in the Tokyo Grand Hotel, ordered so Western food, and after the waitress left, Ma Wenwen said, "Wait a minute, let take a photo first."
"As a travel and food reporter, are you happy?"
"It’s okay!"
Ma Wenwen had almost traveled all over the world, and it was all reimbursable, which was basically public-funded travel. However, after experiencing a life-and-death situation in the Southwest quarantine zone last ti, she was already frightened once and couldn’t be as carefree as before.
Even now, her parents aren’t very supportive of her traveling around again. With Ma Wenwen’s parents, they could arrange a pretty good job for her.
But Ma Wenwen still couldn’t settle down.
This ti, returning to the East Sea, Ma Wenwen rembered she should settle down to write that long novel.
Soon, the waitress brought the Western food and utensils they just ordered. As Ye Qiu was about to eat, his phone rang — it was a call from Akino.
"Ye, where are you?"
"Having a al at the Tokyo Grand Hotel."
"Then I’ll co pick you up," Akino said from the other end.
In fact, Akino loved martial arts and strength. He wasn’t interested in car racing, while Hirano-kun was the car enthusiast this ti. Hirano-kun was going to participate in racing, so Ye Qiu tagged along to watch.
Moreover, Akino knew that racing could easily lead to accidents, especially around Autumn Mountain. They didn’t know how many people might have died there, and if sothing were to happen to Hirano-kun, Ye Qiu would be there to save him.
From this point of view, Akino actually cared a lot about his friend Hirano-kun.
Ye Qiu and Ma Wenwen slowly savored the steak there, finding the taste quite good. The Kobe Beef from The East Ocean was world-famous, but outside The East Ocean, many claiming to be Kobe Beef were actually fake. Now, the one ordered by Ye Qiu and Ma Wenwen was indeed Kobe Beef.
After Ma Wenwen took so photos with her cara, she and Ye Qiu started tasting it.
About an hour later, after they were full and waiting, Akino’s call ca. He was already downstairs.
"I’m heading to Autumn Mountain, you coming?"
"Yes, of course, even though these can’t be published in the newspaper, it’s worth a look."
Ma Wenwen and Ye Qiu left the Western restaurant, took the elevator down, went outside the hotel, and saw Akino’s small car parked there.
Possibly the car’s sll was really unpleasant. If there was another option, Ye Qiu wouldn’t want to ride these East Ocean cars.
When Ye Qiu and Ma Wenwen got into the car, Aiko was also there, curiously looking at Ye Qiu.
"Ye, don’t you like this car?"
"Akino, haven’t you noticed the unpleasant sll in this car?"
This might have a lot to do with the interior materials of East Ocean cars, which is why German and Arican cars don’t sll bad, and even dostic cars don’t have such an odor.
Akino and his friends were used to it, so it didn’t bother them, but Ye Qiu wasn’t accustod to it.
While Akino drove away from there towards Autumn Mountain in Gunma Prefecture, known for its nine twists and eighteen turns, with narrow roads allowing only one car to pass at a ti during races, the first car had the advantage, except the opportunity to overtake at turns.
As for Jinling, it definitely couldn’t compare to this.
After about an hour and a half of driving, when they reached the top of Autumn Mountain, Ye Qiu had already experienced the mountain road’s winding curves. Racing there indeed required extra caution.
Upon reaching the top and parking, they found many people had parked their modded cars, ranging from Toyota, Honda, to Nissan. There were male and female racers, but every race involved only two competitors, trying to see who could reach the finish line faster.
Ye Qiu spotted Hirano-kun, who was driving an Isuzu along with a female companion. Aiko looked disappointed after seeing this; such a handso Hirano-kun already had a companion. If she wasn’t soone Hirano-kun fancied, how could she be in his car?
"Later I’ll race with Black Hair," Hirano-kun said.
Black Hair was the nickna of a racer who had won forty-nine consecutive races with a modified Toyota car.
Judging from tonight’s races, there was a real possibility of Hirano-kun losing to Black Hair.
"Is it possible to place bets here?" Ye Qiu asked.
"Of course, you can."
However, the gambling table wasn’t run by anyone else but the Yamaguchi-gumi. Though the Yamaguchi-gumi is the largest of the top three dark forces in The East Ocean, they keep their word and really pay out if you win the bet.
Car racing on one hand provides thrills for the drivers and on the other hand, excitent for the bettors.
"Ye, are you placing a bet?"
Ye Qiu shook his head, as he trusted no one’s skills but his own, uncertain of Hirano-kun’s expertise.
Ye Qiu also saw a screen showing the racing conditions, with soone following to film and another giving comntary, which was quite advanced.
Many were simply seated under the screen to view the racing scenes.
With the arrival of various modified cars, Ye Qiu knew that the Autumn Mountain races would soon begin tonight.
Ma Wenwen knew the situation was different here, and knowing it involved the Yamaguchi-gumi, she didn’t dare take out her cara to shoot, only sticking close to Ye Qiu.
Looking at those with colorful dyed hair and tattoos, Ma Wenwen felt a bit scared.
At 8 PM Tokyo ti, two modified cars, a Toyota and a Honda, kicked off the race. Ye Qiu, Hirano-kun, and Akino watched as the young girl in red briefs waved the flag, the two modified cars shot off and quickly disappeared. The car behind chased after them, while a comntator explained, and the screen showed the two cars ahead.
The racing car also had caras inside, allowing views of the racers and the expressions of the young won in the passenger seats.
Ye Qiu noticed that the young woman in the passenger seat of the Toyota, with her ample chest barely constrained by the seatbelt, almost burst out.
