The delivery truck stopped, and two staff mbers got off, carefully carrying the guqin out.
After all, it’s such a valuable item, any damage would be a huge loss.
Xiaomai wondered what it was when it was being carried out. Unexpectedly, when Ye Qiu went to open and inspect it carefully, it turned out to be a guqin. Xiaomai imdiately knew it must have been bought by Ye Qiu as a gift for her.
Ye Qiu checked it thoroughly, confird there were no issues, signed for it, and then moved it directly inside. While placing it in the hall, he pulled out two bottles of Coke and handed them to the two delivery personnel.
"Thank you," one of the delivery n said.
Ye Qiu didn’t say much.
In the past, he wouldn’t even bother to look, but now, Ye Qiu is different, showing a bit more humanity.
Seeing how Xiaomai looked at the guqin, it was clear she really liked it.
"Practice when you have the ti,"
Ye Qiu said.
People like Xiaomai, who grew up in an orphanage, probably only had a guqin for company. However, that guqin had already been broken by soone.
Ye Qiu went upstairs while Xiaomai started working on her guqin.
By dinnerti, Xiaomai went to the market to buy groceries. After she prepared dinner, they ate together.
"Ye Qiu, I’ll play a piece for you,"
Actually, things are different now; you can find any music you want to listen to online.
Although Xiaomai hadn’t touched a guqin for a while, she quickly regained the feel of playing it, having practiced it for over a decade since her childhood.
Ye Qiu sat listening while drinking tea, feeling it was okay.
Nowadays, pianos are popular dostically, and the guqin doesn’t seem to be in fashion. Outside of Huaxia and possibly The East Ocean, other countries prefer those so-called pianos.
After listening to the piece, Ye Qiu went upstairs to take a shower and then played on his computer before continuing his cultivation.
A few days ago, he had just broken through in his cultivation, but to Ye Qiu, his progress was still too slow.
This trip to the Caribbean Sea, he’ll also need to continue his cultivation whenever he gets the chance.
Early the next morning, Ye Qiu woke up early because he had to fly to Cuba from the East Sea today, as there was no flight available from Jinling.
After Ye Qiu had breakfast, he called Ning Yun, telling them to get ready as he would drive to pick them up shortly.
"Ye Qiu, do you want to pack anything for you?" Ye Xue asked.
"Sis, just pack two sets of clothes,"
Ye Xue went upstairs with Xiaomai to pack clothes for Ye Qiu, but the two of them didn’t know the weather in Cuba, so they packed winter clothes.
"Sis, it’s very hot over there now; it’s near the equator, much hotter than here,"
"Really? I didn’t know that," Ye Xue said, sowhat embarrassed.
It seems reading more books is necessary. Ye Qiu just took two sets of sumr clothes, his wallet and phone, and didn’t even bring a power bank since it couldn’t be taken on the plane.
While preparing to leave, looking at Ye Weidong, Ye Qiu said, "Dad, I’ll bring you sothing good to enjoy."
"What’s the good stuff?"
"Cigars, Cuban cigars, famous ones that cost hundreds each."
Such expensive cigars?
Isn’t smoking cigars like burning money?
"That sounds great,"
Ye Weidong, now used to enjoying good smoke, found himself no longer liking cigarettes that cost only a few bucks per pack. Now that Ye Qiu was planning to bring him cigars worth hundreds for him to smoke, it was, of course, the best.
"You old man just likes smoking,"
Chen Fang said.
Ye Qiu smiled, got into the car, and as he left, Xiaomai and Ye Xue watched until Ye Qiu’s car disappeared before turning back inside.
Now that Ye Qiu had left, Xiaomai didn’t need to stay ho to cook for him. Ye Xue planned to take Xiaomai to help out at the Imperial Cuisine Restaurant, as she would otherwise be bored at ho alone.
"Xiaomai, after eating, let’s go to the restaurant,"
"Okay, Sister Ye Xue,"
...
Ye Qiu drove to the boys’ dormitory, where Ning Yun and Luo Yang had already packed up. Each with a backpack, they didn’t carry much stuff, unlike won who travel with a suitcase in each hand.
The key thing was these two guys even packed swimming trunks and such.
Zhou Shaohui and the others envied them, for they could follow Ye Qiu to the Caribbean Sea for enjoynt, while they had to stay behind.
Getting in the car, Ye Qiu drove directly towards the East Sea.
The flight was scheduled for a little past 10 AM. Driving there now, they would be just in ti.
"Brother Qiu, I exchanged a few thousand US dollars yesterday,"
He knew US dollars would surely be more useful in the Caribbean Sea. As for Huaxia Yuan, it might not be usable, and if needed, they could only exchange it at a local bank.
"I have a bank card; you don’t need to worry,"
Ye Qiu had a black card from the Oriental Fuji Bank and a Union card from a dostic bank, so there’s nothing to worry about. Of course, having so US dollar cash is good if they take a cab or sothing.
These few thousand dollars required tens of thousands of Huaxia Yuan to exchange.
Arriving at the East Sea International Airport’s parking lot, Ye Qiu parked the car, and the three of them grabbed their belongings and headed for the terminal.
After producing their passports to get their tickets, passing through security, and entering the waiting area, they had at most a half-hour wait before boarding.
The three had eaten breakfast before coming, so they weren’t hungry.
However, the flight would first head to Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport in France. From there, they would transfer to Havana, taking up at least over twenty hours in total.
Now Ye Qiu realized that dostic passports were really difficult to use. Should he consider getting a Hong Kong or Macau passport, since those are much more convenient, without all the hassle?
It seems that to achieve big things, this might really be necessary.
Luo Yang and Ning Yun didn’t know what Ye Qiu was thinking, but at present, the two were very excited. Not caring about the coffee, they figured going to the Caribbean Sea with Ye Qiu would surely be a good ti, hoping they might even et so foreign ladies.
"Brother Qiu, are we just staying in Cuba after going there?" Luo Yang asked.
"Probably, let’s first check out the cigar market there."
Actually, in the dostic market, cigars weren’t popular. Part of the reason was the price; cigars were too expensive for regular people to afford. After all, who could enjoy sothing that costs hundreds for a single stick? Plus, cigars were originally long and thick, taking at least an hour or two to smoke. Regular folks really didn’t have that much ti to enjoy it.
"Cigars, huh? Brother Qiu, I like them," Though Ye Qiu himself didn’t smoke, except during the last exam, when Li Shen secretly gave him one to try and he found it quite ordinary.
So, he hasn’t touched them since.
But Ning Yun? He had started smoking as early as middle school.
