In Havana’s Zhonghua Street, there aren’t many restaurants run by genuine Chinese people, and there are only a few hundred real Chinese people on the whole street. The rest are of mixed descent and look sowhat different from authentic Chinese.
Ye Qiu and his two companions sat down, and the restaurant owner was surprised to see that they were actually from Huaxia.
There are many tourists from Huaxia visiting the United States, but not many co to Cuba.
In recent years, there might be more students from Huaxia studying Spanish at Havana University.
So, the restaurant owner was particularly surprised to see the three of them.
"We ca for a visit," Ye Qiu said.
"The scenery here is nice, but there aren’t many people from Huaxia," the Chinese owner said.
After asking for so hot pot broth, he found that the seafood here was much cheaper than back ho.
They waited for the simple hot pot broth and various seafood and ats to be served, and Ye Qiu and his companions began to eat.
After sitting on a plane for over twenty hours, eating only bread, the three of them were already fed up, and the food at Martinez’s family wasn’t very satisfying either.
Now, being able to eat hot pot felt great.
After finishing their al, it was around 11 AM in Cuban ti.
The three left the hot pot restaurant, and the owner told Ye Qiu about interesting places in Havana, to which Ye Qiu nodded.
They went outside, got into a taxi, and took it to the city center of Havana, where they found lots of Spanish-style buildings, though there were many high-rises too. However, compared to back ho, they were far off.
After spending the afternoon exploring these places, Ye Qiu took a taxi back to Martinez’s ho.
He rembered where Martinez lived and told the taxi driver the address, who thought they were students.
However, Luo Yang and Ning Yun realized they were lucky Ye Qiu spoke Spanish, because without a translator, they would have been stumbling around like headless chickens.
At the doorstep of Martinez’s ho, Ning Yun took out US Dollars to pay the cab fare. The US Dollar was still very welco in Cuba.
Getting off the taxi, Ye Qiu and the two companions went inside. Initially, Ye Qiu thought Martinez was still at the hospital for check-ups, but after calling out, Martinez’s parents soon appeared.
In fact, Martinez had already done a rest check-up for heart problems at a major Havana hospital. Although so results hadn’t co out yet, the ones available showed he was in great condition, with very normal ECGs, not like soone with heart disease.
This suggested the young man’s dical skills might have really cured his illness.
Undoubtedly, this made Martinez’s family even more grateful to Ye Qiu.
When the three entered, besides not seeing Martinez’s sister Miranda, Martinez and his parents were there.
Ye Qiu and Luo Yang sat down, with Ye Qiu planning to head to Jamaica the next day to check out the coffee there. Jamaica produces many high-end coffees for companies in the East Ocean, Europe, and Arica.
Besides considering taste, Ye Qiu also wanted to check the prices.
"Mr. Ye, are you going to Jamaica tomorrow?"
Cuba is very close to Jamaica, and you can get there quickly by boat or plane.
"Tomorrow."
Martinez hoped to accompany Ye Qiu after all the check-up reports were out.
Unexpectedly, Ye Qiu was in such a hurry, though now he indeed felt no discomfort, so he figured he could make ti to go tomorrow.
"Alright, I’ll go with you tomorrow."
When Martinez’s parents decided to buy groceries for a celebration, Ye Qiu thought it would be better if he cooked himself.
"I’ll cook for everyone."
But Martinez’s parents felt a bit uneasy about Ye Qiu, a guest of honor, cooking personally.
While Martinez’s parents drove to the nearby market to buy plenty of seafood, the three of them couldn’t believe Ye Qiu would cook personally.
When Ye Qiu started preparing dinner in the kitchen, they were using gas, just like back ho.
Once each dish was done, Miranda’s voice ca from outside.
"Brother, I’m back."
Miranda saw her brother and Mr. Ye’s two friends.
Miranda had gone back to school to ask for leave from her teacher.
She hadn’t expected to arrive just in ti to sll the dish aromas and learn that Mr. Ye was cooking in the kitchen, with her parents helping.
The tastes of these Cuban people differ from those in Huaxia, as many things here are simred together in one pot, probably influenced by Spanish and Afro-Cuban cooking styles.
However, Ye Qiu’s cooking was indeed different, more refined.
Luckily, they had chili and other seasonings; otherwise, the dishes might not taste good.
"Slls delicious!" Miranda said as she walked in.
Seeing Mr. Ye with an apron on, she was genuinely surprised, thinking other countries’ n didn’t cook.
Clearly, she was misinford.
After Ye Qiu prepared a big table of seafood, they realized the seafood had to be eaten hot or it wouldn’t taste good.
With Cuban beer and high-proof vodka, the drinks were really pleasant.
Miranda looked at Ye Qiu differently, initially assuming that besides his dical skills and being a wealthy second generation, he had unexpectedly excellent culinary skills.
"Eat while it’s hot; it’s not good cold."
Ye Qiu took off his apron and started eating with the Martinez family and Luo Yang. It was the first ti Luo Yang tasted Ye Qiu’s cooking.
They knew Ye Qiu had personally trained the chefs at Ye Family’s Imperial Cuisine Restaurant, so his culinary skills were on par with anyone’s.
The lobsters and crabs here were all freshly harvested from the sea and very delicious.
After the al, everyone was very full.
Ye Qiu washed his hands and was about to take a stroll nearby, and Miranda followed him out.
Miranda knew Ye Qiu spoke Spanish very well.
"Mr. Ye, why are your culinary skills so good?"
"Natural talent."
"Are all Huaxia people’s cooking skills innate?"
Ye Qiu glanced back, sensing her innocence.
Seeing Ye Qiu’s non-response, Miranda found it amusing; nothing cos naturally, after all.
Located by the sea, the scenery was indeed beautiful. As they sat by the shore, Miranda asked, "Why was my brother cured after just two treatnts by you?"
"Because of my dical skills, of course."
